The Mariners are expected to activate Crawford (personal) from the bereavement list within the next few days, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Crawford remains in California after leaving the team over the weekend following a death in his family, but he should arrive in Seattle before the end of the week. However, because he'll need to clear COVID-19 intake testing before being eligible to play, Crawford looks poised to miss at least a few more games. The Mariners will lean on combination of Dylan Moore, Donovan Walton and Dee Strange-Gordon to fill in at shortstop while Crawford is away.

Diaz isn't starting Sunday's game against the Dodgers after tweaking his quad Saturday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Diaz had an effective performance Saturday as he went 2-for-4 with a double and a run, but he apparently didn't escape unscathed. Manager Dusty Baker said that he doesn't think the injury will require a stint on the injured list. The Astros have a day off Monday, so Diaz will get at least one additional day to recover.

Diaz is not in the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and a run Saturday but will head to the bench for the series finale. The 30-year-old is unlikely to see regular starts once Jose Altuve (knee) returns from the injured list in the near future. Jack Mayfield receives the start at the keystone for the Astros.

Bogaerts is getting the day off Sunday, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

He is out of the lineup for the series finale in Tampa Bay, and manager Ron Roenicke confirmed that it is simply an off day for his star shortstop. Tzu-Wei Lin will start at the six and bat ninth.

Mondesi went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, one steal and one additional run scored Saturday against the Pirates.

He is up to four home runs to go along with his MLB-leading 16 steals. Mondesi is hitting .288/.329/.530 with four home runs and nine steals in 66 at-bats over his last 17 games, rewarding those who were patient with him after a really rough start to the season.

Bogaerts went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Rays.

The Tampa battery of Tyler Glasnow and Michael Perez was helpless to stop Boston baserunners on the evening as the Red Sox went 6-for-6 on steal attempts. For his part, Bogaerts is a perfect 5-for-5 on the year to go along with a .276/.339/.509 slash line, 10 homers, 26 RBI and 26 runs through 45 games.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Dodgers.

Diaz was an igniter for the Astros' five-run ninth-inning rally in the comeback win. He's been a lineup regular while Astros manager Dusty Baker has navigated injuries to Alex Bregman (hamstring) and Jose Altuve (knee). Richard Justice of MLB.com reported that Altuve took swings Saturday and was scheduled to run the bases, and the Astros are hopeful he'll be activated for Tuesday's series opener against the Rangers. With Bregman already having returned and Altuve close, Diaz's time as an everyday starter could be ending Sunday.

Fletcher went 0-for-6 in Saturday's win over Colorado.

Fletcher was activated from the injured list prior to the contest and immediately slotted back into his usual leadoff role. The utilityman showed some rust, however, going hitless in six at-bats. Despite the fruitless performance, Fletcher is still hitting an even .300 on the season.

Anderson went 4-for-5 with one RBI and two runs scored Saturday against the Tigers.

Anderson joined the White Sox 14-run offensive barrage, recording his sixth multi-hit game in his last 10 starts. He has reached base regularly throughout the season, illustrated by his .358 batting average and .400 on-base percentage. As a result of his ability to get on base and the talent of his surrounding lineup, Anderson now has 38 runs scored in just 35 contests.

Wendle, who went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a stolen base in a win over the Red Sox on Friday, is 0-for-20 in five September games outside of his trio of two-hit efforts.

It's been a somewhat unusual ride for Wendle since the calendar flipped, as the normally above-average contact hitter has also struck out on multiple occasions in three games and 10 times overall. Wendle has had moments this season where he's looked like the hitter that slashed .300/.354/.435 over 545 plate appearances back in 2018, but there have also been stretches bearing resemblance to his career-worst 2019 campaign in which he produced an unsightly .231/.293/.340 line in 75 games. Wendle's defensive versatility does continue to afford him regular playing time, as he's now seen time for at least a portion of a game on 18 occasions at second base, 20 at third base, and eight at shortstop.
