Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Knocks two doubles
Anderson went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs scored in Sunday's 10-1 win over Detroit.
Anderson wasted no time making an impact in his season debut after serving a two-game suspension; he ripped a double on the first pitch of the game and came around to score on a Jose Abreu groundout. The star shortstop then doubled and scored again in the seventh. Anderson has hit .322 over the last three years and looks poised to repeat that success in 2022.

Wander Franco SS | TB
Rays' Wander Franco: Drives in two runs
Franco went 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 8-0 win over the Orioles.
Franco helped Tampa Bay complete a three-game sweep to begin the 2022 campaign. He drilled a two-run single in the seventh inning and finished the series 6-for-11 with a pair of strikeouts. Taylor Walls replaced him near the end of the game and got an at-bat in the eighth inning of the blowout victory.

Jeremy Pena SS | HOU
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Three more hits
Pena went 3-for-5 with a double and a run in a 4-1 win against the Angels on Sunday.
That's now three hits on two occasions for the young shortstop, who doubled in the first inning, singled in the third and singled and scored in the eighth. Though the move was most likely due to veterans Jose Altuve and Michael Brantley receiving a rest day, manager Dusty Baker expressed confidence in Pena by moving him up to the No. 2 spot in the order for Sunday's game.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Sitting with illness
Story is not in the lineup Sunday against the Yankees due to a non-COVID illness, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
The ailment isn't believed to be a serious concern, but it will hold Story out of the lineup for at least one contest. He should be considered day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener in Detroit, while Jonathan Arauz starts in his place Sunday.

Trevor Story SS | BOS
Red Sox's Trevor Story: Out of Sunday's lineup
Story is not in the lineup for Sunday night's game against the Yankees, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.
Story went 1-for-8 with a double and a walk in the first two games of the season and will take a seat for the series finale in New York. Jonathan Arauz will man the keystone in his place on Sunday Night Baseball.

Adalberto Mondesi SS | BOS
Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Knocks in lone run Saturday
Mondesi went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Saturday's 1-0 extra-inning win over the Guardians.
His first hit of the season was of the walkoff variety, plating Kyle Isbel in the 10th inning. Through two games, Mondesi has hit seventh in the order -- the arrival of Bobby Witt has forced Mondesi down the lineup. The shortstop has also struck out in four of his seven plate appearances so far. The bigger concern is fewer opportunities to run for the 26-year-old, though the Royals again have a lineup that should embrace a bold strategy on the basepaths.

Tim Anderson 2B | LAA
White Sox's Tim Anderson: Set for season debut
Anderson is starting at shortstop and hitting first Sunday against the Tigers.
Anderson received a two-game suspension due to an incident during spring training, though he is now eligible to return. There is little surprise that he is atop the White Sox order, and he should maintain that spot regularly throughout the season. Leury Garcia is out of the lineup Sunday and should return to his utility role with Anderson back.

Bo Bichette 3B | NYM
Blue Jays' Bo Bichette: Belts first homer
Bichette went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 4-3 victory versus Texas.
Bichette singled in the first inning and came around to score, then belted a game-tying 425-foot solo shot in the fifth. The 24-year-old has collected a pair of hits in each of Toronto's first two contests and has scored four total runs. Bichette was a popular first-round pick in fantasy drafts this season after belting 29 homers and swiping 25 bags in 2021.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Not starting Saturday
Fletcher isn't starting Saturday's game against the Astros, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Fletcher went 1-for-7 with a triple and an RBI while starting the first two games of the season. Tyler Wade will shift to shortstop while Matt Duffy starts at second base Saturday.

Jorge Mateo SS | ATL
Orioles' Jorge Mateo: Swipes bag in loss
Mateo went 1-for-3 with an RBI double, a run, a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's loss versus the Rays.
The shortstop reached base twice for the second consecutive game, adding a stolen base in the third inning before later driving in teammate Ramon Urias on a ninth-inning ground-rule double off Andrew Kittredge. After being let go by the Padres, Mateo slashed .280/.328/.421 with two homers, 10 RBI and five stolen bases in 32 games with the Orioles last season and he'll look to keep it up as the 2022 campaign is officially underway.
