Kershaw allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out two over 4.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Mets on Tuesday.

This wasn't a good start for Kershaw, but an error that extended the Mets' fifth inning was what ultimately did him in. On the positive side, Kershaw threw a season-high 92 pitches (60 strikes) in this outing. He's at a 5.17 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 8:9 K:BB through 15.2 innings over four starts as he continues to work his way back to 100 percent after offseason knee and toe surgeries.

Lopez (0-4) took the loss Tuesday versus the Twins, allowing five runs on five hits and a walk while striking out nine over 4.1 innings of relief.

The Athletics haven't announced their pitching plans for this series, aside from having Grant Holman serve as an opener Tuesday. That made this a somewhat unexpected outing for Lopez, who was pitching on regular rest after his short 1.2-inning start last Thursday against the Blue Jays. Lopez was tagged for three home runs Tuesday, all of which were solo shots. His workload was normal at 96 pitches (56 strikes), but the results continue to be troublesome for the southpaw, who is now at a 7.20 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 26:10 K:BB across 20 innings through seven appearances (four starts). Lopez may still have a leg up on Osvaldo Bido for a spot in the rotation in the short term, as Bido worked as more of a traditional reliever following Lopez's bulk-relief outing.

Roupp allowed four hits and two walks while striking out five over 6.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Padres on Tuesday.

Roupp rebounded from his previous outing, in which he allowed four runs (one earned) over four-plus innings against the Tigers. He was excellent Tuesday, throwing 63 of 92 pitches for strikes, but Camilo Doval blew a save chance in the ninth inning and the Giants ultimately lost in the 10th. After an unremarkable start to the season, Roupp has kept runs off the board in three of his last four appearances, a stretch that has also seen him surrender zero home runs in 22.1 innings. Overall, he's at a 3.18 ERA with a 1.38 WHIP and 61:22 K:BB through 62.1 innings over 12 starts. It's unclear when Roupp will next take the mound, as it's possible Justin Verlander (pectoral) comes back to make a start this weekend at home versus Atlanta rather than early next week in Colorado. Roupp would be on regular rest for Sunday's game against Atlanta if Verlander is not activated from the injured list.

Williams (3-6) yielded five runs on five hits and a walk over 4.1 innings Tuesday, striking out four and taking a loss against the Cubs.

Williams gave up just one run through three frames before the Cubs' offense got hot. They scored a pair of runs in the fourth inning before piling on four more runs in the fifth, with two of them being charged to Williams. He's given up at least three earned runs in six of his last seven outings, resulting in a 6.69 ERA over 35 innings during that stretch. The rough patch has spiked his season ERA to 6.03 alongside a 47:16 K:BB through 59.2 innings. Williams is currently in line to face the Rangers at home this weekend.

Smith (2-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing three hits and two walks over 5.1 scoreless innings against the Tigers. He struck out six.

Smith neutralized the Tigers' offense, recording his fourth scoreless outing of the season. The right-hander has impressed in his rookie campaign, posting a 2.45 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 62.1 innings. While the White Sox remain at the bottom of the AL Central, Smith has been a clear bright spot.

Sugano (5-3) picked up the win Tuesday against the Mariners after surrendering one run on five hits and one walk in seven innings. He struck out five.

Sugano continues to provide length for the Orioles, working at least five innings in his ninth straight start while walking one or fewer for the eighth time during that span. Additionally, the 35-year-old right-hander has tossed at least six frames on seven occasions during that period, and he posted his sixth quality start of the year Tuesday. Sugano sports a solid 3.04 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 40:11 K:BB through 71 innings ahead of a tough assignment versus the hard-hitting Athletics, who rank fifth in the majors with a .417 slugging percentage in 2025.

Manager Dan Wilson said after Tuesday's game that he expects Kirby to be fine after getting hit in the face by a line drive, Andrew Destin of the Associated Press reports.

Seattle's skipper added that Ramon Urias' 103-mph line drive in the fifth inning initially struck Kirby's hand before deflecting off his jaw, which likely lessened the impact. The 27-year-old righty is slated to be further evaluated Wednesday, at which point the Mariners will have more information about his condition, though Wilson's comments suggest Kirby still has a good chance to make his next start -- tentatively scheduled to come Sunday against the Angels. Kirby ended up taking the loss Tuesday -- dropping to 0-3 on the year -- after giving up two earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three batters in five innings.

Horton (3-0) yielded three runs on six hits and a walk over 5.1 innings Tuesday, striking out three and earning a win over the Nationals.

Horton coughed up a run in the first inning and two more in the third, but the Cubs' offense picked him up in the 8-3 victory. It was his fourth straight outing of at least five innings, but he's produced only one quality start at the MLB level so far. He threw 52 of 77 pitches for strikes and generated only seven whiffs. Horton now owns a 4.21 ERA alongside a 19:5 K:BB through 25.2 big-league frames. His next matchup is expected to be this weekend in Detroit.

McCullers (1-1) allowed two hits and a walk over six shutout frames Tuesday, striking out seven and earning a win over Pittsburgh.

McCullers didn't face much of a threat as he cruised through six scoreless innings Tuesday. He threw 61 of 96 pitches for strikes and earned his first MLB win since September of 2022. Since coughing up seven runs while recording just one out against the Reds on May 10, McCullers has posted an impressive 2.21 ERA with a 29:6 K:BB across 20.1 frames. He dropped his season ERA to 4.44 across 24.1 innings. McCullers' next start is projected to be in Cleveland.

Skenes (4-6) allowed a run on three hits and a walk over eight innings Tuesday, striking out eight and taking a loss against Houston.

It was another terrific outing for Skenes that was dampened by the Pirates' lack of offense. He rolled through six shutout frames before serving up a solo homer to Christian Walker in the seventh inning. It was the first home run allowed by Skenes since May 1 and just his fifth of the year through 83.1 frames. He tossed 68 of 99 pitches for strikes and tied a season best with 21 whiffs. Skenes fell to 1-4 over his last seven appearances despite posting a 1.77 ERA during that span. He'll carry an impressive 2.05 ERA and 85:19 K:BB into his next matchup, which is expected to be at home against the Phillies.
