Grayson Rodriguez SP | LAA
Orioles' Grayson Rodriguez: Cedes five runs to take loss
Rodriguez was handed the loss in Sunday's 11-8 defeat against the Rangers in Game 2 of the ALDS, allowing five runs on six hits and four walks across 1.2 innings. He struck out two.
Rodriguez had a rough welcome to the postseason, getting tagged early by the Rangers offense. The bulk of the damage came on a litany of singles in the second inning, and with his pitch count climbing the team turned to the bullpen to escape the jam. Rodriguez had a decent start to his MLB career during the regular season, pitching to a 4.35 ERA and 1.34 WHIP across 122 innings with 129 strikeouts.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Rangers' Jordan Montgomery: Allows five runs in no-decision
Montgomery did not factor into the decision in Sunday's 11-8 victory over the Orioles in Game 2 of the ALDS, giving up five runs (four earned) on nine hits and one walk across four innings. He struck out two.
Montgomery was unable to replicate his success from his prior postseason start. The southpaw loaded the bases in the first inning, then allowed an RBI single to Aaron Hicks that put the Orioles on the board. He was spotted a seven-run lead by the third inning but let things get tighter again in the fifth by allowing a home run to Gunnar Henderson. Montgomery now has a 2.55 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 17.2 innings with 14 strikeouts for his career in the postseason.

Eovaldi had a rough finish to the regular season with 15 runs given up across his final three starts, but he didn't let that downturn affect his performance to open the playoffs.

Michael Grove RP | TB
Dodgers' Michael Grove: Secures NLDS roster spot
Grove is on the Dodgers' roster for the NLDS, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Despite holding an unimpressive 6.13 ERA on the season, Grove has been solid since coming back from the injured list Sept. 23. Since then, he's logged five scoreless innings and struck out six batters while walking one, helping him to beat out Ryan Yarbrough for a spot on the NLDS roster.

Sheehan is listed on the Dodgers' roster for their NLDS matchup against the Diamondbacks, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Sheehan has been dominant on the mound recently, surrendering just three runs over 13.2 innings while striking out 24 batters across his last three starts. The 23-year-old's hot streak helped him beat out Ryan Yarbrough for a spot on Los Angeles' pitching staff, though Sheehan has yet to be penciled in for a start in the postseason.

Kyle Wright SP | CHC
Braves' Kyle Wright: Likely out for 2024
Wright is expected to undergo shoulder surgery that will cause him to miss the entire 2024 season, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
Wright landed on the 60-day IL on Friday with a right shoulder strain. Considering he already suffered the same injury earlier this season, he'll now go under the knife to address the issue directly and look forward to a likely return in 2025. Wright had a 3.19 ERA in 2022 but wasn't very effective when healthy this year, posting a 6.97 ERA and 1.84 WHIP alongside a 34:17 K:BB through 31 innings.

Atlanta placed Wright on the 60-day injured list Saturday with a right shoulder strain, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Wright was confirmed to be left off Atlanta's NLDS roster Friday, and his move to the 60-day IL will officially keep him unavailable for the entire postseason. Wright missed more than four months of the season due to a strained right shoulder, and he'll now focus on making it back for the start of next year.

Michael Lorenzen RP | TOR
Phillies' Michael Lorenzen: Joins roster for NLDS
Lorenzen is listed on the Phillies' roster for their NLDS matchup with Atlanta, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.
Lorenzen wasn't a part of the Phillies' wild-card roster as they opted for extra bench depth, but he will rejoin the team as the 13th and final pitcher. The 31-year-old righty posted a 4.18 ERA and 1.21 WGIP through 153 innings and figures to continue working out of the bullpen in the postseason. Weston Wilson lost his spot on the playoff roster to make room for Lorenzen.

Jack Flaherty SP | DET
Orioles' Jack Flaherty: Earns spot on ALDS roster
Flaherty secured a spot on the Orioles' roster for their ALDS matchup against Texas, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Flaherty hasn't been used often since being moved to the bullpen in mid-September, but he's been effective in the games he has pitched, allowing one run in three innings while striking out four batters. With John Means (elbow) left off the Orioles' playoff roster, Flaherty may have an opportunity to return to a starting role in the postseason.
