The Giants activated Snell (adductor) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Pirates in Pittsburgh.

Snell will rejoin the rotation Wednesday after completing his recovery from a Grade 2 adductor strain. The left-hander posted an 11.57 ERA in his first three starts with the Giants this season but looked sharp during two rehab outings, not allowing a hit or a run while collecting a 17:1 K:BB in nine innings. He threw just 60 pitches in his most recent rehab outing Friday, so Snell's workload could be relatively limited Wednesday. According to Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area, Snell could go on paternity leave after Wednesday's outing, but in such a scenario, he should be back in time to make his next start.

Woods Richardson allowed three hits and one walk over 4.2 scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Nationals on Wednesday. He struck out one.

Woods Richardson didn't have his best stuff Wednesday, though he still managed to hold Washington scoreless before he was pulled with two outs in the fifth inning after throwing 77 pitches. While he came an out shy of qualifying for a win, it was another solid effort overall for the 23-year-old right-hander -- Woods Richardson has now held opponents to two runs or fewer in six of his seven outings this season. Overall, he's 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB across 35 innings this year. Woods Richardson is currently lined up for a home matchup with the Royals in his next start.

The White Sox recalled Nastrini from Triple-A Charlotte prior to his start Wednesday in Toronto.

Nastrini could get an opportunity to make multiple starts for the White Sox after the club opened up a spot in the rotation for him by recently designating Brad Keller for assignment. The young right-hander had one solid start and one poor one last month with Chicago, ultimately allowing eight runs (seven earned) over eight innings.

Maeda (illness) could return from the 15-day injured list to start Saturday or Sunday versus the Blue Jays, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Petzold notes that Maeda is lined up to pitch this weekend, but the Tigers haven't yet divulged any official plans on that front. The right-hander has been on the shelf since mid-May with a viral illness but made a three-inning rehab start this past weekend for Triple-A Toledo and got through a bullpen session Wednesday with no concerns. Matt Manning is slated to make another start for Detroit on Friday but could be sent back down after that to make room for Maeda in the rotation.

Irvin appeared out of the bullpen in Sunday's 6-3 win over the Mariners, collecting his first hold of the season while working around one hit and allowing no walks in two scoreless innings.

Despite posting a 2.90 ERA while starting in his first seven appearances of the season, Irvin was moved to the bullpen over the weekend while the Orioles were able to get by with a shortened rotation due to off days last Tuesday and Thursday. According to Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun, manager Brandon Hyde suggested that Irvin won't be a regular member of the bullpen moving forward, as the Orioles plan to move back to a six-man rotation while they're now in the midst of a stretch of 30 games in 31 days. Per Jake Rill of MLB.com, Irvin isn't scheduled to start any of the Orioles' remaining five games this week, but the southpaw could re-enter the rotation next week or the week after.

Olson (hip) is slated to throw a bullpen session Thursday and is on track to make his scheduled start this weekend against the Blue Jays, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The Tigers initially said Olson would throw off a mound Wednesday, but he'll end up having his bullpen session pushed back a day. Olson exited his start in the third inning Monday against the Royals after being struck on the right hip by a comebacker. Detroit fully expects the righty to be ready for his start this weekend, but he'll need to get through Thursday's mound session before he's locked in for his next turn through the rotation.

The Rays activated Pepiot (lower leg) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Red Sox in Tampa.

Pepiot will rejoin the rotation Wednesday after missing the previous two weeks with a lower left leg contusion. The right-hander didn't make a rehab start, so it's possible he will be relatively limited from a pitch-count perspective versus Boston. Pepiot will bring a 3.68 ERA and nifty 41:11 K:BB over 36.2 innings into Wednesday's proceedings.

Brooks did not factor into the decision in the Athletics' win over the Rockies on Tuesday, allowing three earned runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He also hit a batter and struck out three.

The three runs off the journeyman right-hander came from home runs, as Ryan McMahon tagged him for a two-run shot in the first before Ezequiel Tovar slugged one of his two round-trippers on the night in the fifth. Otherwise, Brooks turned in a smooth, efficient outing, one that saw him get through his six frames on just 85 pitches. The 34-year-old has been a pleasant surprise with consecutive quality starts since being called up from Triple-A Las Vegas last Wednesday, and with Paul Blackburn (foot), Alex Wood (shoulder) and Joe Boyle (back) all on the injured list, Brooks lines up for another turn Sunday at home against the Astros, a team he held to three runs over seven frames in his season debut last Wednesday.

Quantrill did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Athletics, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings.

Quantrill surrendered a third-inning home run to J.D. Davis and later allowed the A's to scratch across an additional run in the sixth after JJ Bleday tripled before scoring on a wild pitch. Quantrill was in line for a fourth consecutive win after exiting the contest but that was eventually spoiled after the bullpen coughed up three runs between the seventh and eighth innings. The 29-year-old nearly matched his season-high in strikeouts. His strikeout rate this season is up to 18.6 percent, which is a significant improvement from 13.1 last year. Quantrill now owns a 3.59 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 44:21 K:BB in 57.2 innings and faces a tough test ahead of him against the Phillies over the weekend.

Perez came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning win over the Giants, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings. He struck out four.

The veteran southpaw threw only 56 of 98 pitches for strikes, but an Oneil Cruz error in the first inning helped soften the blow to Perez's ERA. He's completed six innings only once in his last seven starts, posting a 6.37 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 29:12 K:BB through 35.1 innings over that stretch, but Pittsburgh doesn't have many healthy alternatives for its rotation right now. Perez will try to turn things around in his next outing, which lines up to come at home this weekend against Atlanta.
