Keller allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks across 3.1 innings in Monday's Grapefruit League game against the Orioles.

Keller has been shaky this spring, as he maintained only a 5:4 K:BB across his first 8.2 innings despite allowing only one earned run. Things unraveled for him further Monday, as he was pulled partway through the second innings after throwing 26 pitches in the frame while managing just two outs. Keller re-entered the game and recovered, but it hasn't been a standout exhibition season for him to this point.

Nunez (elbow) threw a live batting practice session Monday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

It's his first time facing hitters in Mets camp, as the club is proceeding cautiously with Nunez following last season's second-half flexor strain. The team has not yet ruled Nunez out for Opening Day, but it's an optimistic stance to think he could be ready in time.

Cole will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Tuesday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

Cole sought a second opinion from Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Monday and it was during that meeting that it was confirmed Tommy John surgery would be required. The operation will knock Cole out for the entirety of the 2025 campaign, and it's possible he'll get a late start in 2026, as well. Cole, 34, has four years and $144 million remaining on his contract. With Cole out for the season and Luis Gil (lat) out indefinitely, the Yankees appear tentatively slated to open with both Marcus Stroman and Will Warren in their rotation. An addition from outside the organization is also possible.

The Phillies optioned Johnson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The move comes after Johnson tossed two scoreless frames and picked up a win in Monday's Grapefruit League contest against the Twins. Johnson is projected to begin the season in the rotation at Lehigh Valley.

Irvin gave up six runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks over 3.1 innings during Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Mets. He struck out three.

Some shaky defense behind the right-hander got Irvin off the hook for some earned runs during a six-run first inning by New York, but most of the damage came on homers by Mark Vientos and Jakson Reetz. Irvin was still able to build up to 81 pitches (48 strikes), and the 28-year-old remains on track to begin the season in the Nationals' rotation despite his disconcerting 5:6 K:BB through 10.2 spring innings.

Rogers (knee) remains limited to flat-ground work but hopes to throw off a mound before the end of spring training, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Rogers is recovering from a right knee subluxation, which he suffered in January. The left-hander has been able to continue throwing since the injury, so his ramp-up might not take terribly long. However, Rogers will not be part of the Orioles' Opening Day roster, instead being assigned to the Triple-A Norfolk rotation once he's physically ready.

Holmes struck out eight over 3.2 scoreless innings in Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals. He gave up one hit and walked three.

The right-hander built up to 67 pitches (38 strikes) and was absolutely dominant against a Washington lineup that featured CJ Abrams, James Wood, Nathaniel Lowe and other likely Opening Day starters. Holmes has worked to expand his pitch mix this spring as he transitions from closing to a rotation job, and so far the results have been impressive as he has a 13:4 K:BB through 9.2 spring innings with a 0.00 ERA.

Kochanowicz tossed four perfect innings with two strikeouts in a Cactus League start against Cincinnati on Sunday.

Kochanowicz was ultra efficient in the outing, needing just 44 pitches to get through four frames. In fact, the righty was so efficient that he threw more pitches in the bullpen following his departure from the game. Kochanowicz is competing with Reid Detmers for the Angels' fifth-starter role this spring. While Detmers has been fine with a 3.52 ERA and 4:2 K:BB over 7.2 innings, Kochanowicz has been better, giving up just one earned run and posting a 6:1 K:BB across nine frames.

The Diamondbacks optioned Mena to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Mena missed much of the 2024 season with a forearm injury, but he was healthy this spring and threw three scoreless innings during Cactus League play. However, the 22-year-old will head back to Reno for now and work to find the strike zone more often.

The Diamondbacks optioned Diaz to Triple-A Reno on Monday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

Diaz has tossed 3.2 innings this spring, but he's far down in the Arizona rotation pecking order. The 24-year-old has some of the best stuff among Diamondbacks pitching prospects, but whether or not he'll be able to remain a starting pitcher will depend on his ability to throw enough strikes.
