Boyd did not factor into the decision against the Pirates on Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings.

Boyd gave up one run in the first and fourth innings, but he faced the minimum number of batters in the two frames in between and was in line for the win until the Cubs yielded three runs in the fifth. He generated 12 whiffs and 16 first-pitch strikes while tossing 83 pitches (52 strikes), and he has recorded at least five strikeouts in four of six starts this season. He's slated to make his next start at home against the Giants next week.

Mlodzinski did not factor into Wednesday's decision against the Cubs, allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four over four-plus innings.

Mlodzinski kept the Cubs off the board over the first four innings, but the two baserunners he allowed at the start of the fifth came around to score on an Ian Happ two-run single. Mlodzinski has failed to make it through five innings in three of his last four starts and is up to a 6.58 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 22:10 K:BB over 26 innings this season. He's slated to face the Cardinals on the road next week, when he'll look to earn his second win of 2025.

Dollander's hand issue on Wednesday against Atlanta was a broken fingernail on the middle finger of his pitching hand, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post clarified on The High Stakes Fantasy show with Tom Kessenich and Jeff Erickson on SiriusXM Fantasy Radio on Wednesday night.

Dollander was pitching a gem against Atlanta but the broken finger nail left his hand "... a bloody mess ...." He allowed one run over 5.2 frames prior to exiting and picked up his second win of the season. Dollander remains tentatively lined up to face the Tigers next week.

Carrasco (2-2) came away with the loss against the Orioles on Wednesday, allowing four runs on eight hits while striking out five over 3.1 innings. He did not issue a walk.

All four of the runs Carrasco yielded came in the second inning, three of which came on home runs by Ryan Mountcastle and Ramon Urias. Carrasco has given up four earned runs in three of his last five outings and is up to a 5.90 ERA and 1.48 WHIP over 29 innings. He's lined up to face the Padres at home next week.

Sale (1-3) took the loss Wednesday, giving up two runs on five hits over seven innings as Atlanta was downed 2-1 by the Rockies. He struck out 10 without walking a batter.

The veteran lefty was undaunted by pitching at Coors Field, putting together his best performance of the season on 100 pitches (71 strikes), including a massive 24 swinging strikes. Sale appears to be finding his form after a bumpy beginning to 2025, and over his last four starts he's delivered a 3.48 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB through 20.2 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Reds.

Petty (0-1) took the loss in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, surrendering nine runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.1 innings. He struck out three.

Making his first appearance on a big-league mound, Petty ran into trouble immediately as Willson Contreras launched a slider 421 feet to straightaway center field for a three-run homer in the first inning. While Petty's MLB debut didn't go according to plan, the 2021 first-round pick figures to see more action with the Reds over the summer as the team needs to plug holes in its rotation. Through five outings for Triple-A Louisville prior to his promotion, Petty put together a 3.52 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 27:9 K:BB in 23 innings.

Lauer didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Red Sox after allowing two runs on three hits and two walks in four innings. He struck out four.

Lauer made his Blue Jays debut Wednesday, piggybacking off opener Yariel Rodriguez in the second inning. The left-hander landed just 45 of his 77 pitches for strikes, but he did induce 12 whiffs in the process. It remains to be seen what kind of role Lauer will play in Toronto going forward, whether it be as a traditional starter or long reliever, but he should see additional opportunities either way while Max Scherzer (thumb) is on the injured list. Lauer is tentatively set to face the Angels next week.

Giolito didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Blue Jays after allowing three runs on five hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out seven.

After missing all of last season due to elbow surgery and the start of 2025 due to a hamstring issue, Giolito registered a quality start in his Red Sox debut Wednesday. The right-hander's fastball touched 96 mph, which is an especially encouraging sign coming off a significant injury. It was equally promising to see Giolito throw 90 pitches, which suggests he's mostly stretched out following a five-start rehab assignment. He'll look to build on this performance in his next outing, currently projected for next week versus a Rangers team that ranked 25th in runs scored (102) ahead of Wednesday's action.

Singer (4-1) took the loss in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cardinals, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out four.

The Reds gave him no run support in a 6-0 loss, and Singer tossed only 46 of 92 pitches for strikes, but he still came away with his third quality start of the season. The right-hander has looked very good to begin his tenure in Cincinnati, posting a 3.24 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB through 33.1 innings. Singer will look to get back in the win column in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road early next week in Atlanta.

Manager Rob Thomson said Wednesday that Suarez (back) will return from the injured list to start Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

Suarez has been on the injured list since the start of the season due to a back injury that surfaced during spring training. He began a rehab assignment April 10, during which he's given up two earned runs while striking out 24 batters across 16.2 innings over four starts. His impressive performance in the minors will give him plenty of momentum heading into his season debut against MLB's sixth-highest scoring offense. Suarez shouldn't face significant workload limitations since he tossed 78 pitches in his finale rehab outing.
