Cobb (hip) allowed one unearned run and two walks while striking out two across 2.1 innings in Thursday's rehab start with High-A West Michigan.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters Friday that Cobb is feeling "incrementally better -- and by that, I think [Cobb] means no worse," per Evan Woodbery of MLive.com. Cobb has been on the 15-day injured list since the start of the season due to right hip inflammation. He'll throw another bullpen session in a couple of days before his next rehab start, and he'll need to build up his pitch count through multiple outings before being reinstated from the IL.

Yesavage struck out nine while giving up up one run on two hits and a walk over five innings Friday for High-A Vancouver.

The 21-year-old right-hander has remained dominant following a promotion from Single-A Dunedin, and over four starts and 17.1 innings for Vancouver, Yesavage has delivered a 1.56 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB. His 88 strikeouts combined between the two affiliates leads the entire minor leagues, and the first-round pick in the 2024 First-Year Player Draft may not be long for the Northwest League if he continues to overmatch hitters with his mid-90s fastball, splitter and slider.

Manaea (oblique) allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits while striking out two in 1.2 innings during his rehab start with High-A Brooklyn on Friday, John Sparaco of SI.com reports.

Manaea was cleared to embark on a rehab assignment after starting the season on the injured list due to a right oblique strain that he suffered in spring training. The 33-year-old southpaw ended up tossing 36 pitches in what was an underwhelming outing, but it's a step in the right direction as far as his rehab program goes. Manaea will need several rehab starts without setbacks before being cleared to return to the major-league roster.

Soroka (3-3) picked up the win in Friday's 2-0 victory over the Rangers, scattering two hits and a walk over six scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander produced his best performance of the season in a duel with former Nationals starter Patrick Corbin. Soroka retired the first eight batters he faced before plunking Kyle Higashioka with a pitch, and Texas didn't get a runner past second base all night. The quality start was Soroka's second of the season, but both having come in his last three trips to the mound, a stretch in which he's posted a 3.63 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 12:3 K:BB over 17.1 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next week against the Mets.

Corbin (3-5) took the loss Friday, giving up two runs on five hits over eight innings as the Rangers fell 2-0 to the Nationals. He struck out two without walking a batter.

The veteran lefty was locked in against the team with which he won a World Series ring back in 2019, but Corbin got no run support. He tossed a complete game on 89 pitches (60 strikes). After posting an ERA north of 5.00 in four straight campaigns before leaving Washington, Corbin's having an impressive comeback in Texas, delivering a 3.52 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 43:18 K:BB over 61.1 innings. He'll look for his first win since May 14 in his next outing, which is scheduled to come on the road next week in Minnesota.

Falter didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-4 win over the Phillies, coughing up four runs on five hits and two walks over 3.2 innings. He struck out two.

The southpaw's three-game quality start streak came crashing to a halt, as Falter got tagged for runs in the first, third and fourth frames before being lifted after 65 pitches (40 strikes). It's the first time since April 27 he's allowed more than two earned runs in an outing, and Falter will take a 3.49 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 43:24 K:BB through 69.2 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next week against the Marlins.

Schwellenbach allowed four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four over six innings in a no-decision versus the Giants on Friday.

This was a bit of a letdown after back-to-back 11-strikeout games from the 25-year-old right-hander. Schwellenbach still earned his third straight quality start, but two of those have just met that standard due to some mistakes from Atlanta's defense. He's also completed six innings in all but two of his 13 starts so far as he remains a reliable part of the rotation. Schwellenbach has a 3.24 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 75:14 K:BB over 80.2 innings. His next start is projected to be at Milwaukee.

Kremer (5-6) allowed five runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out two over 5.1 innings to take the loss Friday versus the Athletics.

This was a step in the wrong direction for Kremer after he had limited opponents to one run over his last 11.1 innings. The Athletics put up four runs in the third inning Friday and added one more in the fifth, which was the last run of the game. Kremer has allowed five or more runs on five occasions this season, pitching to a 4.98 ERA, 1.41 WHIP and 53:19 K:BB across 72.1 innings over 13 starts. The right-hander is tentatively projected for a tough home start versus the Tigers next week.

Sears (5-5) allowed four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three over five innings to earn the win over the Orioles on Friday.

Sears wasn't at his best, yielding two home runs in this outing, continuing a recent trend of trouble with the long ball. He's allowed nine homers over his last four starts. He's also failed to record more than four strikeouts in six straight outings, but the Athletics gave him enough support Friday to let the left-hander pick up his first win since April 28 versus the Rangers. Sears is now at a 5.21 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 49:14 K:BB through 67.1 innings over 13 starts. The 29-year-old is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Angels.

Senzatela didn't factor into the decision against the Mets on Friday, allowing three hits and four walks while striking out two across four scoreless innings.

Senzatela was brought in for the second inning after Ryan Rolison served as the opener. Senzatela had issues with his control and logged just 45 strikes on 84 pitches, but he got himself out of multiple jams and was able to do just enough to avoid being tagged for a run. He has a 6.68 ERA and 1.97 WHIP across 62 innings heading into his next start or bulk-relief appearance, tentatively slated for next week at home against the Giants.
