Susana (elbow) was activated from the 7-day injured list at Double-A Harrisburg on Thursday, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.

Susana hasn't pitched for Harrisburg since early May after being diagnosed with a right elbow sprain, but he made three rehab starts with High-A Wilmington and had a 16:2 K:BB over nine innings. The righty has collected a 3.86 ERA and 54:22 K:BB over 35 frames covering nine starts between the two stops this season.

Carrasco is slated to start Thursday's game against the Marlins at Truist Park.

Carrasco will be awarded a second start for Atlanta after he came over in a trade with the Yankees and impressed in his team debut last Thursday. He took a no-decision in Atlanta's 12-11 win over the Reds that day, covering six innings and allowing three earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five. With the Atlanta rotation having been thinned by injuries in recent weeks and with Chris Sale (ribcage) not on track to return for a couple more weeks, Carrasco should get the opportunity to make additional starts for the club beyond Thursday.

Bradley gave up one run over six innings with four strikeouts and no walks Wednesday for Triple-A St. Paul.

It was Bradley's first start in the Twins organization after he was acquired for Griffin Jax last Thursday. Despite trading for him, the Twins say they want to keep Bradley in the minors to work on some of his pitches. He'll likely be called up at some point this season, but it sounds like he'll make at least another start or two at Triple-A.

King (shoulder) is slated to return from the 60-day injured list to start Saturday's game versus the Red Sox at Petco Park, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.

King hasn't pitched for the Padres since May 18 following a lengthy recovery from a right shoulder thoracic nerve impingement, but he looks poised to come off the IL after making just one rehab start. In that outing this past Sunday with Triple-A El Paso, King struck out five and allowed six earned runs on four hits and one walk over 3.1 innings, but more importantly, he built up to 61 pitches and came out of the rehab appearance feeling healthy. Per Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune, Padres manager Mike Shildt hinted Tuesday that King could rejoin the big-league rotation this weekend, and San Diego seems to have signed off on the righty's return after he completed a between-starts bullpen session without issue. King is set to take over the rotation spot that previously belonged to trade-deadline pickup JP Sears, who was optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday.

Holmes (elbow) believes he could be ready to throw simulated games by November, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander will miss the rest of the 2025 season after being diagnosed with a partial tear of the UCL in his elbow, but Holmes is attempting to recover without surgery. "If everything goes well, I'll be throwing simulated games at the beginning of November," Holmes said Wednesday. The 29-year-old indicated that his decision was prompted by a lack of symptoms other pitchers typically report before undergoing Tommy John surgery, such as hearing a pop from his elbow due to a complete tear, or feeling numbness in his arm. Should his rehab not go according to plan, surgery this winter would still be an option, as he would miss the entire 2026 campaign whether he went under the knife now or in November.

Cortes allowed two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out three batters over 4.2 innings in a no-decision against Arizona on Wednesday.

Cortes made his debut with San Diego after joining the club via a trade from Milwaukee on July 31. The veteran lefty was wrapping up his rehab from an elbow injury at the time of the deal and was able to jump into the Padres' rotation Wednesday and handle a relatively healthy workload of 76 pitches. However, he seemed to have some rust in his first big-league start since April 3, as he threw just 45 strikes and walked three batters. Cortes also served up a long homer to Corbin Carroll, though he was at least able to keep San Diego from falling too far behind, and the Padres eventually pulled out the win with a comeback in the ninth inning. Cortes is slated to make his second start with his new team next week in San Francisco.

Cannon (4-9) allowed seven runs on four hits and three walks over 1.2 innings to take the loss against Seattle on Wednesday. He struck out three batters.

Cannon fell behind quickly, giving up a two-run home run to Josh Naylor in the first inning. Things got even worse for the hurler in the second, as the Mariners put five more runs on the board, the final three of which came on a Julio Rodriguez three-run homer. The seven total runs Cannon allowed were his most so far this season, and he's now given up a total of 19 runs (18 earned) across 12 innings over his past three starts. The rough stretch has ballooned his season ERA from 4.18 to 5.34.

May (6-8) took the loss Wednesday against the Royals, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk in 3.2 innings. He struck out four.

Kansas City made May work, as the hurler was unable to make it through four innings despite throwing 91 pitches. Wednesday represented the shortest outing of the season for May, who has worked at least five frames on just two occasions over his last six starts. The 27-year-old right-hander holds a lackluster 4.93 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 101:44 K:BB across a career-high 107.2 innings, and he'll likely remain a volatile fantasy option in Houston against the first-place Astros his next time out.

Wacha (6-9) recorded the win Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing two runs on five hits and no walks in six innings. He struck out three.

It was Wacha's fifth start in a row with at least five innings while conceding two runs or fewer. While the veteran right-hander has exceeded five strikeouts on just four occasions out of his 23 starts on the year, he's now up to 11 quality starts in 2025. Wacha has a steady 3.36 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 98:35 K:BB over 131.1 frames, and his next appearance projects for a soft matchup at home versus the Nationals.

Kirby (7-5) earned the win over the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over six innings.

Kirby had his swing-and-miss stuff working, as he racked up a hearty 19 whiffs and nine punchouts. The right-hander didn't give up any extra-base hits among the five knocks he allowed and fired a first-pitch strike to 17 of the 25 batters he faced. Kirby also recorded his third straight quality start and has posted six such outings over his past eight appearances. His 4.04 ERA is still well below his career norm, but Kirby has yielded two or fewer earned runs in nine of his 14 starts on the season.
