  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Start pushed to Friday

Contrary to a previous report, Wacha will start Friday against the Reds, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

The Cardinals were originally planning to push Wacha's start back by a day (to Wednesday) following Monday's postponement, but the team decided to push him back to Friday in order to keep Luke Weaver on normal rest for Wednesday's game. Wacha now projects to face Brandon Finnegan in a home game.

  • Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: Two strong starts since demotion

Woodruff allowed one earned run over 5.2 innings Monday for the second time in as many starts since being optioned to Triple-A Colorado earlier this month.

Woodruff made the Brewers' Opening Day roster, but he was sent to Colorado Springs just over a week into the season after getting off to a rough start. Since then, though, he is doing his best to earn a trip back to Milwaukee, giving up just two earned runs over 11.1 innings (1.59 ERA) while posting a 1.15 WHIP -- numbers made even more impressive when considering both starts came in Colorado. Woodruff will garner consideration next time the Brewers decide to call up a starter from the minor-league ranks.

  • Wade Miley SP | CIN

Brewers' Wade Miley: Set to start Tuesday

Miley (groin) is scheduled to start a minor-league game Tuesday, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Miley has not appeared in a game since injuring his groin late during the spring season, but barring any setbacks, he will do just that Tuesday in a game with Double-A Biloxi. Miley is expected to make a couple starts in the minors, after which the Brewers will need to add him to the big-league roster or allow him to opt out of his contract with the club.

  • Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Start bumped back to Wednesday

Wacha will now start Wednesday instead of Tuesday after a postponement caused the Cardinals to shift all their starters back one game, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

Monday's game was postponed due to inclement weather, so scheduled starter Adam Wainwright will pitch Tuesday instead, bumping Wacha back to Wednesday. The 26-year-old righty has had a rough time in his first three starts, posting a 5.52 ERA and a 12:10 K:BB in 14.2 innings.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Confirmed as Tuesday's starter

Wainwright will start Tuesday against the Cubs, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

As expected, Wainwright will simply shift back one day after his start Monday was cancelled due to poor weather. If the Cardinals don't skip any of their starters, Wainwright will lose his two-start week, though he could start again Sunday against Cincinnati if the team elects to skip Miles Mikolas and start Carlos Martinez on Saturday.

  • Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Start postponed

Wainwright won't start Monday against the Cubs as the game has been postponed.

The game will be made up as part of a double-header on July 21. The Cardinals' plans for their starters the rest of the series are not yet known, but it's likely that Wainwright's scheduled start will just be pushed back to Tuesday.

  • Eric Lauer SP | LAD

Padres' Eric Lauer: Fans 10 in Triple-A start

Lauer struck out 10 batters across six scoreless innings Sunday in Triple-A El Paso's 10-0 win over Las Vegas. He limited the opposition to three hits and walked two in the 97-pitch outing.

The 10 strikeouts matched a career high for Lauer in the professional ranks and boosted his total to 19 over 18 frames in the Pacific Coast League this season. The 2016 first-round pick has moved quickly through the San Diego system and could garner a look from the big club at some point during the second half of the campaign, but fantasy expectations should be tempered if he receives a promotion. While the 22-year-old lefty has impressed during each of his minor-league stops to date, his below-average fastball velocity along with a dearth of plus secondary offerings in his arsenal limits his upside to that of a back-end starter over the long haul.

  • Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Gives up first run

Stripling gave up a run on two hits and a walk over an inning in Sunday's 7-2 win over the Diamondbacks.

The run broke up Stripling's impressive 9.1-inning scoreless streak to begin the year. The 28-year-old was quietly one of the Dodgers' more reliable relievers last season when he posted a 3.75 ERA and a 9.0 K/9 over 74.1 innings. Stripling does have 16 starts under his belt (14 coming in 2015), but barring an injury to one of their current starters, the Dodgers will likely keep the righty in a multi-inning relief role.

  • Tyler Anderson SP | LAA

Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Walks six in no-decision

Anderson allowed three runs (one earned) on two hits and six walks across 4.2 innings in a no-decision Sunday against the Nationals. He struck out six.

Anderson threw just 50 percent of his pitches for strikes in this one, walking as many batters as he had in his first three starts combined. He gave up a solo home run to Bryce Harper in the first inning and yielded another pair of runs as Chris Iannetta allowed a passed ball before making a throwing error with the bases loaded in the third. Anderson came through with back-to-back quality starts in his previous two outings -- each against the Padres -- but this outing was less convincing. He'll carry a 4.74 ERA and a solid 9.9 K/9 into Saturday's matchup with the Cubs.

  • Ben Lively SP | CLE

Phillies' Ben Lively: Allows three runs in short outing

Lively allowed three runs on seven hits with no walks and five strikeouts across four innings Sunday against the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.

Lively allowed a leadoff home run to Denard Span before another pair of hits brought a second run around in the first inning. He settled down until the fourth, when the hosts scratched another run across before he closed it out. He seemingly could've continued, leaving after just 66 pitches, and would have earned his first victory of the season if he would've been given a longer leash. Lively's ERA now sits at an unsightly 5.87 this season, and his next start is scheduled for Friday against an in-form Pirates lineup.
