Eickhoff (0-1) allowed five runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings Monday, striking out three and taking a loss against the Nationals.

Eickhoff got off to an ugly start Monday, serving up back-to-back homers to Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner to begin the first inning. He gave up four solo homers in the outing, including two by Schwarber. He tossed four shutout innings in his season debut on June 21 but he now owns a 4.50 ERA through nine frames. If Eickhoff gets another shot in the rotation, he could take the mound in Yankee Stadium this weekend.

Miley allowed four runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out seven across six innings Monday against the Phillies. He didn't factor into the decision.

Miley surrendered a pair of runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth, but his team would rally after his departure to get him off the hook for the loss. The southpaw hasn't received a decision in each of his last three starts, but he's pitched well of late, surrendering two runs or fewer in six of his last seven outings. Miley owns a 3.09 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with a 69:22 K:BB across 81.2 frames this season.

Anderson (3-8) took the loss after allowing two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings Monday against the Rockies.

Anderson gave up the only two runs of the ballgame, one on an RBI triple to right in the third inning, and the other on a solo homer in the fifth. Despite losing three of his last four decisions, he hasn't exactly pitched poorly of late, holding his opponents to three runs or fewer in three of those outings. Anderson owns a 4.75 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with a 72:22 K:BB across 85.1 frames in 2021.

Gray (shoulder) threw a simulated game Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Gray has thrown multiple bullpen sessions and now a simulated game as he works his way back from a shoulder impingement. The club continues to discuss whether it will use Gray in a relief role or as a starter later in the season when he makes his big-league debut, but he's currently stretched out to be used in a starting role.

Freeland left Monday's start against the Pirates due to cramping, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Initial reports are positive for the southpaw after exiting early Monday, and the team is optimistic this won't be a long-term injury, per Harding. He'll be considered day-to-day moving forward.

Freeland exited Monday's start against the Pirates with an apparent left hamstring injury, Kyle Newman of The Denver Post reports.

The left-hander helped himself by reaching twice on bunt attempts, but he appeared to tweak his hamstring running from first to third base during the bottom of the fifth inning. Freeland was working on a shutout prior to the injury with three hits and a walk allowed while striking out seven over five frames. It's unclear if the injury will affect his next turn through the rotation, which lines up for this weekend versus the Cardinals.

Stroman was placed on the bereavement list Monday.

Stroman will be away from the team in the coming days following his grandmother's death. The right-hander is expected to start Saturday's game against the Yankees, but his move to the bereavement list will make room on the active roster for right-hander Sean Reid-Foley, who was recalled in a corresponding move.

Woodford was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Woodford struggled during the Cardinals' weekend series against the Pirates and allowed three runs on four hits and a walk while striking out one in two innings across two relief appearances. The right-hander will be stretched out with the Triple-A club and could be an option to rejoin the big-league club as a starter at some point, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Left-hander Brandon Waddell was recalled as part of a corresponding move.

Stroman (personal) is expected to start Saturday's game against the Yankees, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Stroman took the loss against the Phillies on Sunday, but he'll be away from the team in the coming days following his grandmother's death. However, he'll apparently be able to go through his progression between starts and should be back on the mound Saturday. The right-hander has posted a 1.88 ERA and 1.25 WHIP in 24 innings across his last five outings.

Walker will make his next start Friday against the Yankees, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The right-hander previously lined up to take the mound Wednesday in Atlanta after starting in last Friday's twin bill, but he'll instead be pushed back a couple days to receive some extra rest before facing the Mets' cross-town rival. Walker will come out of June having made five starts with a 3.26 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 33:6 K:BB across 30.1 innings during the month.
