Gutierrez (8-3) limited Atlanta to one run on five hits and a pair of walks over six innings Thursday, striking out six to earn the victory.

Gutierrez turned in another strong performance, settling in after allowing a Dansby Swanson RBI single in the first inning and holding Atlanta off the board the rest of the way. It was the fourth straight victory for the 25-year-old Gutierrez, who owns a 2.33 ERA and 21:8 K;BB over 19.1 innings during that stretch. He's lined up to face the Cubs at home in his next scheduled start.

Stroman (8-11) earned the win during the first game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Nationals. He gave up one run on three hits with eight strikeouts and two walks over 5.1 innings.

Stroman cruised through five shutout frames and allowed only two baserunners, but he was pulled with one out in the sixth after surrendering a run on two hits and a walk. It's the fourth straight start the right-hander has been unable to get through six innings, and he has a 3.85 ERA and 21:5 K:BB across 21 frames during that stretch. The victory also snapped his three-start losing streak.

The Brewers announced that Woodruff's removal after three innings during his start Thursday against the Cubs wasn't due to an injury, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports. He departed with a 5-1 lead and gave up an unearned run on two hits and three walks while striking out three.

Woodruff initially appeared to have suffered a injury to his leg when he was struck by a Andrew Romine line drive that he corralled and tossed to first base for the final out in the bottom of the third. However, no physical issue was behind Woodruff's removal, and Brewers manager Craig Counsell may have just elected to end the All-Star right-hander's day early due to his poor control (74 pitches, 46 strikes). Given that Woodruff was pitching on four days' rest for only the second time all season due to Milwaukee having to shorten its rotation from six to five men with Eric Lauer and Adrian Houser on the COVID-19 injured list, the Brewers may have had additional incentive to pull Woodruff from the contest. He'll tentatively line up to make his next start in the Brewers' series in St. Louis next week.

Woodruff was removed from his start Thursday against the Cubs after he was struck by a comebacker in the right hamstring in the bottom of the third inning, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. He gave up an unearned run on two hits and three walks while striking out three over three frames.

On the play in question, Woodruff appeared to knock down the line drive with his glove before it bounced into his leg, so he wouldn't seem to be dealing with a significant injury. The Brewers will presumably provide an update on Woodruff's condition later Thursday.

Ynoa (hand) made the third start of his rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Gwinnett, striking out seven over 4.2 innings while giving up three runs on four hits and four walks.

Ynoa probably wasn't as sharp Wednesday as Atlanta hoped, but after building up to 83 pitches in the rehab outing, he should receive the green light to make his next start in the big leagues. Expect Atlanta to activate him from the 60-day injured list and insert him into the rotation at some point during next week's series in Miami. If manager Brian Snitker doesn't elect to expand his rotation to six men, Touki Toussaint or Kyle Muller would be the most likely candidates to head to the bullpen or to Triple-A Gwinnett to clear a spot for Ynoa.

Eflin (knee) went through another bullpen session Thursday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Eflin threw 38 pitches Thursday, just three days after his previous session Monday. He didn't feel good after his sessions back in late July but feels better now, though his exact return date remains unclear.

Kelly dropped to 7-9 after giving up five runs on 11 hits and one walk while striking out three over five innings Wednesday in the Diamondbacks' 7-2 loss in San Francisco.

The 12 baserunners Kelly allowed established a season high and represented a dramatic departure from his previous matchup with this same Giants team at home on Aug. 5, when he tossed eight shutout frames. Even with Wednesday's ugly start included, Kelly has still churned out a pristine 2.95 ERA and 1.08 WHIP while going 5-2 over his last 10 outings. Those strong ratios will continue to make Kelly worth rostering in the majority of formats, though he's less appealing for fantasy managers trying to make up ground in strikeouts. Kelly's 19.8 percent strikeout rate on the season ranks him 35th among the 50 qualified MLB starters.

Gausman (11-5) allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and four walks with five strikeouts in five innings, earning the win over Arizona on Wednesday.

The right-hander has won consecutive starts over Arizona, although he walked four or more batters for the fourth time in 23 starts Wednesday. Gausman has a 2.29 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 162:43 K:BB through 137.1 innings this season. He tentatively lines up for another home start versus the Mets next week.

Hill covered three innings and gave up three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four in Tuesday's 8-7 win over the Nationals, a game New York and Washington resumed Wednesday.

Fantasy managers who kept Hill active this week were dealt a tough hand when Tuesday's series opener versus Washington was suspended in the second inning due to inclement weather. Rather than having Hill start the game originally scheduled for Wednesday -- which was later postponed to Thursday -- the Mets turned to him to take the hill for the resumption of Tuesday's contest. Hill was already facing an uphill battle to pick up the win due to the game resuming with the Mets trailing 3-1, and though New York was able to overcome a pair of three-run deficits Wednesday, the team didn't take the lead until after Hill departed the contest. The veteran southpaw has largely underwhelmed since being traded to the Mets on July 23, posting a 5.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 18 innings across four outings.

DeGrom (elbow) will undergo another MRI in the coming days, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

DeGrom's second MRI has been expected after he was shut down at the end of July due to right forearm inflammation. If the exam comes back clean, the right-hander will restart a throwing program, and a better timetable for his return would come into focus based on how he feels after throwing. The timing of deGrom's next step depends on the results of the MRI, but he appears close to resuming baseball activities.
