Justin Verlander SP | SF
Giants' Justin Verlander: Put on paternity list
The Giants placed Verlander on the paternity list Friday, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Verlander will be away from the team temporarily for personal reasons, but he should be back to make his regularly scheduled turn in the rotation that's set for Tuesday against Miami. Brett Wisely was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.

Ryan Feltner SP | COL
Rockies' Ryan Feltner: Set for another rehab start
Feltner (back) is expected to go three innings in a start Saturday with Triple-A Albuquerque, Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com reports.
It'll be Feltner's second start of his rehab stint, and he's hoping to throw three innings Saturday after completing just 1.2 frames Monday with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League Rockies. Feltner has been sidelined since late April and becomes eligible for reinstatement June 28, though he'll need a few more starts to get fully stretched out.

Roki Sasaki SP | LAD
Dodgers' Roki Sasaki: Moves to 60-day IL
Sasaki (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
The right-hander has already been on the shelf over a month due to a shoulder impingement and recently had his throwing program shut down, so he was already likely to be sidelined beyond 60 days. Sasaki's return timeline is likely to remain murky until he's able to ramp his throwing program back up.

Connor Phillips RP | CIN
Reds' Connor Phillips: Promoted Friday
The Reds recalled Phillips from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.
The right-hander is joining the Reds ahead of Friday's game in St. Louis as Wade Miley (forearm) heads to the injured list. Chase Petty will be added to the MLB roster Saturday to start in place of Miley, so it could be a short stay in the majors for Phillips, who last appeared in the majors in 2023 and had a 6.97 ERA over 20.2 innings.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Cubs' Matthew Boyd: Dealing with bruised shoulder
Manager Craig Counsell said that Boyd left Friday's game against the Mariners due to a bruise on his left shoulder, Jared Wyllys of AllCHGO.com reports.
Boyd made a great catch on a 105-mph comebacker during the fifth inning of Friday's contest, but it seems he didn't quite come away from it unscathed. The 34-year-old southpaw said after the game that he's not too concerned about his shoulder at this point, so he should still be able to make his next scheduled start in St. Louis next week.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Cubs' Matthew Boyd: Strikes out six in no-decision
Boyd did not factor into the decision in Friday's 9-4 loss to the Mariners, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five innings.
Boyd generated nine swinging strikes and was given a surprisingly early hook at just 76 pitches after making a miraculous catch on a comebacker to record his final out. The outing snapped a streak of four straight quality starts for the southpaw, but he's now gone at least five innings while allowing three earned runs or fewer in 14 of 15 outings this season. He'll take a 2.84 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 79:21 K:BB across 85.2 innings into a road matchup with the Cardinals next week.

Chase Petty SP | CIN
Reds' Chase Petty: Stepping into rotation
Petty was added to the Reds' taxi squad Friday and will be recalled from Triple-A Louisville to start Saturday against the Cardinals, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
The right-hander will enter the rotation in place of Wade Miley (forearm), who was placed on the injured list Friday. Petty struggled in his first two big-league appearances earlier this season with 13 runs allowed over 5.1 innings, but he pitched to a 2.70 ERA in four starts with Louisville since being demoted.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Reds' Wade Miley: Lands on injured list
The Reds placed Miley on the 15-day injured list Friday due to a left flexor strain.
The veteran left-hander last pitched Sunday in Detroit and gave up two runs across five innings, but he may have injured his arm during that outing or in his between-starts bullpen session. Miley will be eligible to be activated in early July, but could be out longer given the nature of the injury. Chase Petty will be called up from Triple-A Louisville to enter the rotation in place of Miley on Saturday against the Cardinals.

Michael McGreevy SP | STL
Cardinals' Michael McGreevy: Returned to Triple-A
McGreevy was returned to Triple-A Memphis on Friday.
McGreevy was up as the 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox, and he made the start in the second game, allowing just one run on three hits and one walk across five innings. McGreevy struck out five and was in line for the win, as he left the game with a 6-1 lead before the St. Louis bullpen coughed it up in the late innings. McGreevy has made a pair of starts in doubleheaders for the Cardinals this season and has appeared in three games total. He heads back to Triple-A with an impressive 2.70 ERA and 15:2 K:BB across 16.2 innings of work. McGreevy will be back up at some point, but there's not currently a spot for him in the rotation. One would open up if the Cardinals opt to move one of their contract-year starters at the deadline.

Blade Tidwell SP | SF
Mets' Blade Tidwell: Officially promoted to start Friday
The Mets recalled Tidwell from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
Tidwell has been tapped as Friday's starter against the Phillies, and the 24-year-old will hope for a better outing than his first MLB start May 4 against the Cardinals in which he allowed six earned runs on nine hits and three walks across 3.2 innings. Tidwell was saddled with the loss in that game and struck out just two. He's not a recommended fantasy option versus Philadelphia.
