Urias (13-6) earned the win over Milwaukee on Monday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out six batters over five scoreless innings.

Urias wasn't at his sharpest in the contest -- he saw a three-game stretch without a walk come to an end and needed 94 pitches to get through five frames -- but the southpaw still managed to keep the Brewers off the scoreboard. He allowed the leadoff batter to reach base in three of his five innings but consistently found a way to bounce back and navigate out of trouble. The victory was the 10th in the past 11 appearances for Urias, pushing him up to 13 on the campaign -- only one behind National League co-leaders Tony Gonsolin and Kyle Wright. With Walker Buehler (elbow) ruled out for the season Monday and Clayton Kershaw (back) still on the injured list, Urias' continued success could be especially valuable for Los Angeles down the stretch and into the postseason.

Stroman allowed four unearned runs on six hits across 4.2 innings and did not factor into the decision in Monday's game against the Nationals. He walked one and struck out four.

A Zach McKinstry throwing error to start the bottom of the fifth inning didn't help Stroman's cause, but the righty also labored a bit in needing 94 pitches to retire 14 batters. Stroman has now logged three straight no-decisions, allowing 11 runs (seven earned) across 16.1 innings during the stretch. He's been able to lower his ERA to a solid 3.96, though his 3-5 record reflects the Cubs' inability to provide much run support. Stroman will look to be a bit sharper and possibly pick up a win in his next scheduled start Saturday against the Brewers.

Carrasco was removed from Monday's start against the Braves due to left side tightness, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. He allowed three runs on four hits and one walk while striking out one over two innings prior to his exit.

Carrasco was forced to hit the pause button with two outs in the second inning due to a rain delay, and while he was able to return following the 55-minute delay, it appears as though he failed to get all the way warmed back up before returning to the bump. The right-hander was spotted grabbing his side in the dugout after picking up the final out of the second inning, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. The severity of Carrasco's injury has yet to be determined, and he's likely headed for further testing.

Musgrove (8-6) gave up three runs on eight hits over six innings Monday, striking out five and taking a loss against the Marlins.

Musgrove coughed up two runs in the second inning, including a solo shot by JJ Bleday, before allowing one more in the sixth. The 29-year-old righty is sporting a 2.98 ERA on the year but an unsightly 5.56 ERA over his last six starts. Musgrove's last six decisions have all been losses after he began the year 8-0. He'll look to turn things around at home against the Nationals this weekend.

Alcantara (11-5) yielded four hits and two walks over seven scoreless frames Monday, striking out seven and earning a win over the Padres.

Alcantara was back to his usual self Monday after coughing up four runs against the Phillies in his last outing. Just one Padre reached scoring position against him as he turned in his seventh scoreless start of the year. He lowered his season ERA to 1.92 with a 152:43 K:BB across 173 frames. Alcantara is lined up to start in Oakland next week.

Syndergaard (7-8) picked up the win after allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out six over seven innings Monday against the Reds.

Syndergaard gave up a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning on a single to center field and would surrender another in the eighth on a solo shot, but his squad would come away with a 4-3 victory. After a rough club debut Aug. 5 against the Nationals (four earned runs and 11 hits over five innings), Syndergaard has responded with two straight quality starts including Monday's outing.

Hendricks (shoulder) has been cleared to resume throwing, according to Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune.

After undergoing several MRIs and resting for more than a month, Hendricks was finally given the green light to pick up a baseball. It's unclear how long it will take Hendricks to get back to 100 percent, but with the Cubs out of the playoff chase, expect them to proceed with caution.

Wright (arm) is expected to start late this week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Wright is dealing with arm fatigue that will keep him out through the first three games of Atlanta's series against the Mets, but Wright and Max Fried (concussion) are expected to rejoin the rotation late this week. Wright will likely start Thursday against the Mets or Friday against the Astros.

Buehler will undergo season-ending elbow surgery Aug. 23.

Buehler sustained a Grade 2 flexor strain in his right elbow June 10 and spent the last two months recovering. Although the Dodgers hoped that the right-hander would be able to return sometime in September, he'll ultimately be forced to miss the remainder of the season. The exact nature of the procedure, which will be performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, isn't yet known, so it's unclear whether Buehler will be ready to pitch in time for spring training in 2023.

Fried (concussion) is expected to return from the 7-day injured list late this week, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

Atlanta hasn't yet announced its starting pitchers beyond Wednesday, but Fried and Kyle Wright (arm) are in the mix to rejoin the rotation. Over three starts since the All-Star break, Fried has posted a 2.37 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 19 innings.
