Rogers (0-2) took the loss Friday as the Marlins were routed 8-1 by Atlanta, giving up two runs on eight hits and a walk over five-plus innings. He struck out five.

The 26-year-old got out-dueled by fellow southpaw Max Fried, and Rogers' line could have been a lot worse -- he exited the game with runners on first and second and nobody out in the sixth inning, but George Soriano worked out of the jam. Rogers tossed 56 of 80 pitches for strikes, and he'll take a 4.80 ERA and 14:8 K:BB through 15 innings into his next start, which is scheduled for next week at home against the Giants.

Fried (1-0) picked up the win in Friday's 8-1 rout of the Marlins, allowing one run on four hits and a walk over 6.1 innings while striking out four.

The southpaw rebounded nicely from a rough couple of outings to begin the season, taking a shutout into the seventh inning and tossing 49 of 84 pitches for strikes. Fried's overall numbers remain alarming, but he's more than capable of bringing down his 8.74 ERA and 1.85 WHIP quickly. He lines up for a tough test in his next start, which is scheduled for next week on the road in Houston.

Strider underwent surgery to repair the UCL in his right elbow and will miss the rest of the season.

An MRI revealed damage to Strider's UCL last week, forcing him to undergo an internal brace procedure that will keep him out for 12-to-14 months -- though it was not a full Tommy John surgery. Nonetheless, he's been ruled out for the rest of the 2024 campaign and will likely aim to return in the early months of 2025. The newly recalled Darius Vines could take Strider's place in Atlanta's rotation, although the team has plenty of other options if he falters.

Winn (0-3) took the loss Friday, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks over five innings as the Giants fell 2-1 to the Rays. He struck out six.

It was a tough loss for the right-hander, who threw 58 of 89 pitches for strikes in a solid outing but didn't get much run support. Winn has yet to produce a quality start in his three trips to the mound, but his 5.06 ERA might be a little unlucky considering his 1.19 WHIP, 13:7 K:BB and only one homer allowed through 16 innings. He'll look to pick up his first win of 2024 in his next start, which lines up to come on the road next week in Miami.

Sanchez (0-2) took the loss Friday against Pittsburgh, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out six batters across six innings.

Sanchez put together a quality start against the Pirates and got back to recording strikeouts at a rate similar to what fantasy managers are used to from the 27-year-old, but a lack of run support caused him to take his second loss of the season. The lefty now owns a 3.52 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB through 15.1 innings over three starts and is in line to start again at home Wednesday against the Rockies.

Falter (1-0) picked up the win in Friday's 5-2 victory over the Phillies, allowing one earned run on four hits while striking out three batters across five innings.

Falter rarely faltered against his former club, as his lone blemish came on an RBI single off the bat of Bryson Stott during the fifth inning. However, the 26-year-old southpaw still owns a 4.20 ERA on the year and has struck out just six batters through 15 frames, putting a relatively low ceiling on his fantasy value. He's lined up to make his next start on the road Wednesday against the Mets.

King did not factor into the decision Friday against the Dodgers, allowing seven runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.

The Dodgers offense had a field day against King on Friday, launching four home runs -- a career worst for the Padres right-hander. King has struggled against the formidable Los Angeles lineup, allowing seven earned runs over 8.1 innings against them this season. The 28-year-old will look to bounce back in his next start, scheduled to come against the Brewers at home.

Yamamoto did not factor into the decision Friday against San Diego, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk over five innings. He struck out six.

Yamamoto looked to be in for another rough outing against the Padres after allowing a 390-foot home run to Manny Machado in the first inning. However, the Dodgers starter settled in over his next four innings, striking out four and yielding another run on a solo shot by Ha-Seong Kim. The two homers allowed Friday night were the first of Yamamoto's rookie campaign as he sports a 4.50 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB over 16 innings. His next start is scheduled to come against the Nationals at home.

Wicks (0-2) took the loss Friday, allowing four runs on five hits and four walks over four innings against Seattle. He struck out six.

Wicks struggled mightily with his control against the Mariners as his four walks matched the total from his two previous starts combined. The Cubs lefty got only 36.1 percent of his 94 pitches into the strike zone, but that is not unusual for him as his career rate was 34.6 percent entering Friday. Wicks will look to rebound in his next start, scheduled to come against the Diamondbacks on the road.

Irvin did not factor into the decision Friday against Oakland, allowing one run on one hit and two walks over six innings. He struck out five.

Irvin had one of the finest outings of his young career Friday night with the only blemish being a solo home run yielded to Lawrence Butler. The 27-year-old has looked like a reliable starter for the Nationals as he sports a 4.24 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB over his first 17 innings. However, Irvin draws a much more difficult opponent in his next start, currently scheduled against the Dodgers on the road.
