Cease (5-4) was tagged with the loss Saturday, allowing four runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings against the Yankees. He struck out nine.

Cease got himself into trouble right out of the gate after surrendering a leadoff single to Anthony Volpe to open the contest, followed by a two-run shot off the bat of Aaron Judge two batters later. The right-hander would then go on to strike out five of the next seven batters he faced before giving up another two runs in the fourth. Cease has now allowed three or more runs in three consecutive starts, going 0-2 over that stretch. On a positive note, he's recorded at least eight strikeouts in four of his last five outings and has posted a dynamite 42:6 K:BB in May. His 82 strikeouts on the campaign leave him sitting behind only Tyler Glasnow (87) for the league lead.

Severino came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 7-2 extra-inning loss to the Giants, allowing one run on two hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out six.

The right-hander pitched well enough to secure his third win of the season and left the mound with the Mets nursing a 2-1 lead, but Edwin Diaz blew another save in the ninth inning before the Mets' bullpen fell apart completely in the 10th. Severino settled for his fourth quality start instead, but he's been producing solid numbers in 2024 despite a 10.6 percent walk rate that would be the highest of his career if he can't rein it in. He'll take a 3.22 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 50:26 K:BB through 58.2 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next week against the Diamondbacks.

Hicks came away with a no-decision in Saturday's 7-2 extra-inning win over the Mets, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

The right-hander generated a whopping 19 swinging strikes on 87 pitches in a strong effort, but he left the mound with the Giants down 1-0 before yet another late rally. Hicks has yet to give up more than three earned runs in a start this season, but he's pitched more than five innings only three times in 11 outings, somewhat muting his fantasy appeal in formats that use QS over wins. He'll take a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 48:19 K:BB through 58 innings into his next start, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Yankees.

Buehler (1-2) took the loss to the Reds on Saturday, allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out four over 5.2 innings.

Buehler didn't have his best stuff in this one, as evidenced by the fact that he induced only six swings and misses on 91 pitches and also served up a pair of solo homers. It was a step backward from his previous outing, but this was just his third start back from Tommy John surgery, and ups and downs are to be expected after the long layoff. The 29-year-old righty will take a 4.26 ERA and 1.21 WHIP into his next start, which lines up for next weekend at home against the Rockies.

Greene (3-2) earned the win over the Dodgers on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out five.

Greene routinely touched 99 mph with his fastball and finished with a whopping 23 swings and misses on 107 total pitches. His performance helped secure a surprising series win for the Reds, their first in over a month. While things have been going poorly for the team as a whole, Greene seems to be turning a corner and blossoming into a legitimate frontline starter, having posted a 1.95 ERA and 1.03 WHIP over his last six starts, with only two homers allowed over 37 innings in that span. The right-hander lines up to face the Cubs in Chicago next weekend.

Williams allowed one run on five hits over five innings in a no-decision against the Mariners on Saturday. He struck out eight without walking a batter.

The only blemish was a solo shot given up to Julio Rodriguez in the fifth inning. It's incredible what Williams is doing after years of mediocrity. As Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com notes, Williams has yet to allow more than three runs in a start this season, and he's allowed one run or zero in seven of his 10 starts for a 2.29 ERA over 51 total innings. The track record and lack of whiffs make Williams tough to trust, but the 32-year-old is keeping the ball on the ground and helping create his own good fortune.

Hudson allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out two over six innings in a no-decision versus the Phillies on Saturday.

Given the venue and opponent, it's a surprise that Hudson had arguably his best outing of the campaign. He pitched well enough to win, but the Rockies' bullpen melted down in the ninth inning to rob Hudson of his second victory of the year. The right-hander trimmed his ERA from 5.89 to 5.54 with a 1.59 WHIP and 28:28 K:BB over 50.1 innings in 10 starts this season. It doesn't get any easier for Hudson, who is projected to make his next start at Dodger Stadium.

Nola allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out five over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Saturday.

Nola turned in his third straight quality start, which was his seventh such outing this year. He left the game on the hook for the loss, but the Phillies rallied ahead in the ninth inning. Nola has allowed six runs (four earned) over his last 22 innings, giving him a 3.04 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 65:20 K:BB through 71 innings across 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Cardinals.

Taillon allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over 5.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Saturday.

Taillon fell one out shy of a quality start, though he exited the game at 105 pitches (68 strikes) after giving up an RBI double to Masyn Winn in the sixth inning. This was an improvement on Taillon's last two starts -- he didn't complete five innings in either of those games. The right-hander is at a 2.58 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 25:11 K:BB through 38.1 innings over seven starts this season, but his 4.69 FIP and .238 BABIP suggest he's enjoyed good luck so far, especially earlier in the season. He's projected for a road start versus the Brewers in his next outing.

Mikolas allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Saturday.

Mikolas had an extra day of rest after Friday's game was rained out and his started was pushed back. The right-hander threw 82 pitches (53 strikes) in a decent performance, though he exited with the game tied at 3-3. He's tossed three quality starts over five outings in May, allowing 13 runs over 27 innings this month. For the season, Mikolas has a 5.64 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 45:13 K:BB over 59 innings across 11 starts. He's tentatively scheduled to make his next start in Philadelphia, which is a daunting matchup for a pitcher that has had middling results at best in 2024.
