Allen allowed two runs on four hits and three walks over six frames in a no-decision Friday. He struck out three during the loss to Miami.

Allen served up back-to-back solo homers to Bryan De La Cruz and Josh Bell in the third inning but otherwise kept Miami's offense fairly quiet. It was a needed bounce-back after Allen was tagged with seven runs through 1.2 innings in his last appearance. He posted a 6.26 ERA in six May starts despite two of them being scoreless outings. For the season, Allen owns a 5.57 ERA and a 54:23 K:BB through 64.2 innings. His next start is projected to be in Toronto next weekend.

Olson (1-7) took the loss Friday against Milwaukee, allowing eight runs on 12 hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out six.

It was a brutal night for Olson, who was tagged for a career-high eight runs. The 24-year-old right-hander has now allowed 13 runs over 9.1 innings in his last two outings after holding opponents to one earned run or fewer in each of his previous six outings. Overall, Olson sports a 3.43 ERA with a 1.20 WHIP and 58:22 K:BB across 65.2 innings. He'll look to get back on track in his next start, currently scheduled for next week at home against the Nationals.

Manager John Schneider said Friday that Manoah will undergo UCL surgery June 17, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Manoah left in the second inning of his last start May 29 against the White Sox, and he was placed on the injured list two days later with what was diagnosed as a right UCL sprain. Manoah began the season on the IL with right shoulder inflammation, and since returning May 5, he's posted a 1-2 record with a 3.70 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 26:8 K:BB over 24.1 innings. It's not clear whether Manoah will need Tommy John surgery or a brace repair, but either procedure would end the 26-year-old right-hander's 2024 season.

Bubic (elbow) had his rehab assignment extended by 10 days Thursday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

While Bubic was nearing the end of his 30-day rehab window, Rogers notes that the 10-day extension is an exception available for pitchers coming back from Tommy John surgery. Bubic made his eighth rehab start with Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday, throwing four scoreless innings while striking out four.

Urquidy underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow Wednesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The Astros had only described Urquidy's surgery as "season-ending" prior to the operation, but it's now likely the 29-year-old righty remains out until the second half of the 2025 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery for the second time in his career. He will finish 2024 with a 5.29 ERA and 1.43 WHIP across 63 innings and will enter his final year of arbitration eligibility this offseason.

Bradish will start Saturday's game against Tampa Bay, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The Orioles' original schedule would have placed Bradish on the mound Thursday against Toronto, but he'll get two extra days of rest before taking on the Rays at Tropicana Field. Manager Brandon Hyde said Thursday that Bradish's start wasn't pushed back due to health concerns, so he should be a full go Saturday. Bradish faced the Rays in his last start, yielding five runs over 2.2 innings in a no-decision.

Scherzer (back/arm) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Scherzer had to be pulled off his initial rehab assignment in early May following a nerve problem in his throwing arm, but he's been trending in the right direction since receiving a cortisone injection. The 39-year-old was initially recovering from offseason back surgery. Scherzer threw 40 pitches in a live batting practice session earlier this week, so he should be ready for at least that many pitches Sunday. He will need multiple rehab starts before rejoining the Rangers' rotation, but a return before the end of June would seem to be in play.

Cole (elbow) will make a rehab start with Double-A Somerset on Sunday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Cole made his first rehab appearance Tuesday with Somerset, firing 3.1 scoreless innings with five strikeouts. He threw 45 pitches and touched 97 miles per hour, which is in line with his normal velocity. Cole should see his pitch count increase Sunday, and he'll likely need at least one more rehab outing before coming off the 60-day IL.

DeGrom (elbow) is slated to throw his first bullpen session since last June's Tommy John surgery during the Rangers' June 17-23 homestand, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

DeGrom resumed flat-ground throwing Wednesday following a scheduled de-loading period as he continues his rehab from a second Tommy John operation. The right-hander has hit all the necessary markers in his recovery so far but has many more to go. If everything goes according to plan, deGrom looks to be tracking toward a season debut sometime in August, although that's very tentative at this point.

Maeda indicated he still felt some mild soreness in his abdomen while throwing long toss Friday, but he didn't think it would prevent him from making his next start, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Maeda was removed from his last outing after just two pitches due to right abdominal discomfort. The 36-year-old right-hander is still tracking toward a home start Wednesday against the Nationals, but if the Tigers have any lingering concerns, Matt Manning could be brought back up from Triple-A Toledo.
