Wade Miley SP | CIN
Orioles' Wade Miley: Labors through five innings in Washington
Miley held the Nationals to two runs over five innings Wednesday, but it took him 119 pitches to do it. He struck out five, walked four and allowed five hits.
Miley's been one of this season's most bizarre fantasy arms, as he owns a stunning 2.45 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 36.2 innings, but he's also walked 23 batters. His starts have vacillated between utter dominance and surprising effectiveness, but Miley's due for some regression: his strand rate is high at 87.9 percent, while his FIP and xFIP are both more than a full run higher than his ERA. We've never seen him strike batters out at this sort of pace before, though, so that trend bears watching.

Joe Musgrove SP | SD
Astros' Joe Musgrove: Earns second win
Musgrove (2-3) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings in Wednesday's 4-2 win over Atlanta.
Musgrove had some trouble early, working around baserunners in the first three innings, with thanks to the three double-plays behind him, before surrendering two home runs in the fourth. Unlike his previous start, Musgrove was able to control his emotions, settle in and retire the final seven batters faced to gain his second win in seven starts. He's next lined up to face the Marlins in Miami on Monday.

Jose Berrios SP | TOR
Twins' Jose Berrios: Could make major-league start Saturday
Berrios could be recalled to start Saturday's game against the Indians, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
Berrios has been superb at Triple-A Rochester this season. After making six starts, he's put together a 1.13 ERA and 0.81 WHIP. He's also fanned 39 batters over 39.2 innings and walked just eight. However, his skill has yet to translate to the majors. Berrios started 14 major-league games in 2016, during which he was shelled for a lofty ERA and WHIP of 8.02 and 1.87, respectively.

Drew Rucinski SP | ATH
Twins' Drew Rucinski: Optioned to Triple-A Rochester
Rucinski was optioned Wednesday to Triple-A Rochester, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
It was a short-lived callup for Rucinski, who appeared in just one game and allowed two runs over 3.1 innings. The Twins needed to make room for the newly acquired Adam Wilk, who will likely start Saturday against the Indians.

Jose Quintana SP | COL
White Sox's Jose Quintana: Start moved to Sunday
Quintana's next start has been pushed to Sunday against the Padres, MLB.com's Scott Merkin reports.
After Wednesday's rainout, all of the White Sox's starters got pushed back a day, so Quintana remains in line to face the Padres in Chicago, but will face Jered Weaver instead of Trevor Cahill. This slightly improves his chances of getting a win this weekend.

Mike Clevinger RP | PIT
Indians' Mike Clevinger: Will start again Saturday
Clevinger will take the ball Saturday against the Twins, the Cleveland.com's Paul Hoynes reports.
With Corey Kluber unable to return from the 10-day disabled list when expected, Clevinger will get to start again. In his spot-start Sunday against the Royals, Clevinger pitched 5.2 shutout innings, allowing four walks and one hit while striking out five.

Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Won't come off DL on time
Kluber (back) will not return from the 10-day disabled list Sunday, the Cleveland.com's Paul Hoynes reports.
That was the day Kluber was thought to come back, but it is clear now he will not be ready to do so. The next step for Kluber will be getting back on track to a traditional five-day starter's schedule.

Vidal Nuno SP | WAS
Orioles' Vidal Nuno: Recalled from Triple-A
Nuno was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Nuno has been a liability on the mound for the big club this season. He's pitched in eight games (11 innings) and given up eight runs on five walks and 12 hits, four of which have been home runs. Although the southpaw is rejoining Baltimore's bullpen, it's unlikely he'll see many high-leverage situations until he proves he's capable of consistently shutting down the opposition.

Forrest Whitley RP | TB
Astros' Forrest Whitley: Missing bats at Low-A
Whitley, 19, sports a 3.60 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 19:2 K:BB in 10 innings (three starts) with Low-A Quad Cities.
His outlandish 47.5 percent strikeout rate is due, in part, to him lasting just two innings while fanning six in his last outing, but this is still a pretty excellent start to the season for last year's 17th overall pick. Whitley has frontline upside, thanks to the potential for three plus or plus-plus pitches. As a 6-foot-7, 240-pound pitcher, he may take a little longer than the typical high-end pitching prospect to put it all together, but he could be worth the wait.

Christian Bergman SP | SEA
Mariners' Christian Bergman: Set to start Friday
Bergman will start Friday against the Blue Jays, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.
With Hisashi Iwakuma (shoulder) hitting the DL on Wednesday, the M's now have four starters on the DL and will be forced to turn to Bergman for at least one turn in the rotation. Bergman allowed just one run over 3.2 innings out of the bullpen in his first appearance of the season, and he fared well with Triple-A Tacoma to begin the year, but the 29-year-old right-hander has enjoyed limited success at the major-league level (4.78 ERA away from Coors Field).
