Artie Lewicki SP | ARI
Tigers' Artie Lewicki: Takes loss Tuesday
Lewicki (0-1) took the loss in Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits over 3.2 innings. He walked three and struck out two.
Lewicki has been pitching in relief for the Tigers but was thrust into starting duty with both Jordan Zimmermann (shoulder) and Francisco Liriano (hamstring) on the shelf. The 26-year-old got a tough assignment against a stacked Boston lineup at Fenway Park, so it wasn't too surprising to see him struggle a bit in his first big-league start of the season. Lewicki could still pick up another spot start with neither Liriano nor Zimmermann likely to return by the weekend.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Continues to make progress
Stroman (shoulder) threw live batting practice Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Stroman didn't experience any setbacks during his latest throwing session, and he's scheduled to progress to throwing in a game sometime during the week. He's been on the shelf since May 11 with right shoulder fatigue.

Jordan Montgomery RP | TEX
Yankees' Jordan Montgomery: Headed for Tommy John surgery
Montgomery (elbow) is scheduled to undergo Tommy John surgery Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
It was determined Tuesday that Montgomery will require reconstructive elbow surgery -- a surprise after he progressed to throwing off flat ground Saturday. Montgomery will be forced to miss the remainder of the 2018 season, and likely most of 2019, while rehabbing from surgery. In six starts this season, he posted a decent 3.62 ERA and 1.35 WHIP with a 23:12 K:BB.

Carlos Rodon SP | NYY
White Sox's Carlos Rodon: Expected to return shortly
Rodon (shoulder) has joined the team and will likely be reinstated from the disabled list sometime this week, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
With Rodon rejoining the team, he appears likely to make his season debut over the weekend against the Red Sox. He made it to 92 pitches in his last rehab start at Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday, so it appears he's finally returned to health. Rodon made 12 starts in 2017 for the White Sox, posting a 4.15 ERA and 1.37 WHIP with a 76:31 K:BB across 69.1 innings.

Domingo German SP | PIT
Yankees' Domingo German: Allows four runs in loss to Tigers
German (0-4) allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks across 6.2 innings while taking the loss Monday against the Tigers. He struck out three.
German gave up some hard contact on the evening and was scored upon in three different innings, including a pair of runs on three hits in the fourth. He was a bit unlucky as the bullpen allowed an inherited runner to score in the seventh, but he was still outdueled by Mike Fiers on the night. German burst onto the scene with a terrific outing roughly a month ago, but he's allowed 19 earned runs across 21 innings over four starts since then. His grasp on a rotation spot could be slipping, but he'll have another chance to right the ship this weekend against the Mets.

Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Strikes out 10 over eight strong innings
Severino (9-1) tossed eight innings while allowing just one run, earning the win Monday against the Tigers. He allowed four hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts.
Severino was touched up for a run on two hits in the first inning, but he was flat-out dominant as he allowed just two baserunners the rest of the way. He threw a healthy 76 percent of his pitches for strikes, including 17 swinging strikes as he notched double-digit punchouts for the second straight start. Severino now has a 2.20 ERA and a 10.6 K/9 in addition to his American League-leading number of wins. He'll look to keep it rolling this weekend against the Mets.

Yonny Chirinos SP | MIA
Rays' Yonny Chirinos: Activated from DL, optioned to Triple-A
Chirinos (forearm) was activated from the 10-day disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Durham on Monday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Chirinos has been on the disabled list since the beginning of May with a forearm strain. He'll join the Bulls for now after making a pair of minor-league rehab starts -- one with Durham and one with High-A Charlotte -- during which he allowed four runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out eight batters across just 4.2 innings. Chirinos compiled a solid 3.71 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB across 26.2 innings with the big club prior to landing the disabled list, so he should be afforded another opportunity with the Rays sooner than later.

Triston McKenzie SP | SD
Indians' Triston McKenzie: Will be activated Thursday
McKenzie (forearm) will be activated from the 7-day disabled list and make his first start for Double-A Akron on Thursday.
Expect the Indians to monitor McKenzie's pitch count carefully as he makes his Eastern League debut following a two-plus-month recovery from forearm soreness. The hard-throwing 21-year-old racked up 186 strikeouts at High-A Lynchburg in 2017 to rank second in all of the minors and should continue to pile up the whiffs at Double-A if he has truly made a full recovery from the forearm injury and shows no notable decline in his velocity.

Aaron Civale RP | CHC
Indians' Aaron Civale: Will be activated Wednesday
Civale (shoulder) is scheduled to be activated from the 7-day disabled list and start Wednesday for Double-A Akron.
The 22-year-old has been sidelined for a little over a month due to a sore right shoulder. Civale could face a more limited pitch count than usual in his return to action, but the absence shouldn't affect his status as one of the better pitching prospects in the Cleveland organization. The right-hander maintained a 2.51 ERA and 32:4 K:BB across 32.1 innings prior to landing on the DL.

Martin Perez SP | ATL
Rangers' Martin Perez: Throws bullpen Sunday
Perez (elbow) threw his second bullpen session Sunday, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
Perez, a left-hander whose injury is to his non-throwing elbow, will have at least two more bullpen sessions before he starts throwing live batting practice. If all goes well, a rehabilitation stint will follow.
