Daniel Lynch IV RP | KC
Royals' Daniel Lynch: Resumes throwing
Lynch (arm) recently started a throwing program, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.
Lynch has been sidelined with the arm soreness since early June and is beginning his rehab work after receiving some required rest. The 22-year-old will need some time to rebuild his arm strength before returning to the starting rotation for High-A Wilmington.

Marcus Stroman SP | NYY
Blue Jays' Marcus Stroman: Scratched Thursday
Stroman (pectoral) will not start Thursday against the Red Sox, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Manager Charlie Montoyo suggested Wednesday that Stroman could get scratched, and that has indeed happened after Stroman left his last start early with a pectoral cramp. Thomas Pannone has been recalled and will pitch the bulk of the innings against Boston. There's a chance Stroman starts a game against Baltimore this weekend, but nothing is official.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Mariners' Tommy Milone: Working as bulk reliever
Milone will serve as the Mariners' bulk reliever in Thursday's game against the Cardinals, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
He'll be following Matt Carasiti, who is only expected to work the first inning before turning the game over to Milone. Milone has been used as a bulk reliever in three of his past four turns, delivering a 2.82 ERA, 0.81 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB in 22.1 innings over that span.

Kyle Gibson SP | BAL
Twins' Kyle Gibson: Strikes out five
Gibson gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and four walks while striking out five through six innings in a no-decision against the Athletics on Wednesday.
Gibson gave up a three-run home run in the second inning and struggled with his command, but he also delivered a quality start to keep the Twins in the game. After being used out of the bullpen during an 18-inning contest in his last appearance, Gibson had eight days between starts and didn't appear to have many problems with the extra rest. The right-hander has an 8-4 record with a 4.13 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP heading into the All-Star break.

Domingo German SP | PIT
Yankees' Domingo German: Notches 10th victory
German (10-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Mets after giving up one run on five hits across six innings. He had six strikeouts and didn't issue a walk.
German served up a home run to Jeff McNeil on the first pitch of the game, but he quickly settled in and silenced the Mets the rest of the evening. The 26-year-old needed only 80 pitches Wednesday, and he likely would have worked deeper into the game were it not his first start off the injured list. German will enter the All-Star break with a 3.67 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 83:19 K:BB over 76 innings.

Jesus Luzardo SP | PHI
Athletics' Jesus Luzardo: Out with Grade 2 strain
Luzardo was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left lat strain after undergoing an MRI on Wednesday.
Luzardo exited Tuesday's rehab start after four innings due to left lat tightness and received some troubling news from Wednesday's MRI. The 21-year-old was expected to join the Athletics shortly after the All-Star break, but he's now facing an extended absence with no official timetable for his return.

John Means SP | KC
Orioles' John Means: Seven strong innings
Means allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and no walks while striking out five across seven innings Wednesday against the Rays. He did not factor into the decision.
Means worked efficiently by pounding the strike zone, with 71 of his 98 pitches going for strikes. After throwing only 84 pitches and working five innings in his first start after being activated off the injured list June 28, Means posted his longest start since May 6 -- a span of eight outings. Though his 7.5 K/9 isn't particularly impressive, Means has limited mistakes by maintaining a 1.0 HR/9 and 2.4 BB/9 across 82.2 innings. As a result, he currently holds a 2.50 ERA and 1.08 WHIP for the campaign.

Wade Miley SP | CIN
Astros' Wade Miley: Sharp in seventh win
Miley (7-4) picked up the win in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Rockies, giving up one run on five hits and two walks over six innings while striking out six.
The veteran southpaw had no difficulty navigating an assignment at Coors Field, delivering his second straight quality start and 10th of the season. Miley will take a 3.28 ERA and 86:33 K:BB through 101.2 innings into the All-Star break.

Mike Clevinger RP | PIT
Indians' Mike Clevinger: Strikes out nine in win
Clevinger (2-2) recorded nine strikeouts and gave up four hits and no walks through six innings to secure the win over the Royals on Wednesday.
Clevinger bounced back after a seven-run outing in his last appearance to deliver a masterful performance. The right-hander was pulled after 79 pitches, suggesting the Indians are being cautious with him just two starts removed from the 10-day stay on the injured list. Clevinger continued his career-long dominance of the Royals, a team against which he now owns a 7-0 record and a 2.03 ERA. The 28-year-old has a 2-2 record with a 4.44 ERA through five starts this season.

Chris Sale SP | ATL
Red Sox's Chris Sale: Allows three homers
Sale (3-8) allowed five earned runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five across 5.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
Sale was taken deep three times to account for all five of his earned runs on Wednesday. Despite his velocity being at its typical 94 mph mark, Sale wasn't able to rack up strikeouts at his usual prolific rate and generated just 12 swinging strikes on 104 total pitches. After going on a strong run for four starts in June, Sale has allowed five earned runs in each of his last two starts. He'll head into the All-Star break with an uncharacteristic 4.04 ERA, though he still has 153 strikeouts in 107 innings for the season.
