Charlie Morton SP | ATL
Rays' Charlie Morton: Locks down 15th win
Morton (15-6) earned the win Friday, holding the Angels to three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out four across six innings.
Aside from a two-run home run to Kole Calhoun in the third inning, Morton turned in yet another quality start en route to posting his second consecutive 15-win season. This time around, the right-hander has 18 more strikeouts with a similar ERA compared to his 2018 campaign with Houston. In his last three starts against the Angels, Morton has given up 11 runs across 16 innings, though it hardly mattered this time thanks to a mountain of run support from his offense. The 35-year-old will take a 3.16 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 223:53 K:BB into a tough matchup at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday.

Andrew Heaney RP | LAD
Angels' Andrew Heaney: Lit up for six runs
Heaney (4-5) was charged with the loss against the Rays on Friday, lasting just 3.1 innings while surrendering six runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts.
Once again, Heaney's consistency doesn't quite match his potential. This time around, long balls did him in, as the 28-year-old served up three homers during an ugly third inning. Heaney re-entered in the fourth, striking out his first batter faced. He was then yanked after giving up three consecutive singles. The southpaw will look to improve upon a 4.76 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 113:25 K:BB as he heads to New York on Thursday for a tough matchup against the Yankees.

Aaron Civale RP | CHC
Indians' Aaron Civale: Start postponed by rain
Civale won't make his scheduled start Friday night against the Twins after the game was postponed due to weather.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday. Cleveland has already announced that Mike Clevinger will toe the rubber for Game 1 of the twin bill, so it's unclear when Civale will take the mound next.

Jake Odorizzi SP | TB
Twins' Jake Odorizzi: Start postponed by weather
Odorizzi won't make his scheduled start Friday against Cleveland after the game was postponed due to rain, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday, so Odorizzi figures to take the mound in one of those two contests.
-
Justin Dunn RP | CHW
Mariners' Justin Dunn: To work in opening role again
Dunn will open Wednesday's game against Pittsburgh, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Dunn got rocked in his debut, allowing two runs over two-thirds of an inning, but he'll get another chance to open ahead of Tommy Milone on Wednesday. He'll aim to show better command in his upcoming outing after issuing five walks Thursday.
-
Blake Snell SP | LAD
Rays' Blake Snell: In line to start Tuesday
Snell (elbow) is expected to start Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Snell isn't quite stretched out all the way yet, but he's on track to throw around three innings Tuesday, per Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times. He's been sidelined since undergoing arthroscopic elbow surgery at the end of July.
-
Luis Severino SP | ATH
Yankees' Luis Severino: Confirmed as Tuesday's starter
Severino (lat) confirmed Friday that he will start Tuesday against the Angels, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.
Tuesday will be Severino's first big-league appearance of the season after he dealt with injury issues dating back to spring training. He won't be able to handle a full starter's workload right away, but he did reach 64 pitches in his final rehab start, so he should be able to pitch fairly deep into the game as long as he's efficient.
-
Corey Kluber SP | BOS
Indians' Corey Kluber: Plays catch
Kluber (oblique) played catch with a team trainer Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Kluber hasn't pitched in a big-league game since early May, first due to a fractured forearm and then after straining his oblique. It appears as though his chances of returning before the end of the regular season are quite low, but he could be able to help Cleveland in some capacity if the team reaches the playoffs.
-
Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Mariners' Tommy Milone: Solid as primary pitcher
Milone allowed two earned runs on three hits over 4.2 innings in a loss to the Reds on Thursday, not issuing any walks and recording five strikeouts. He did not factor into the decision.
The veteran left-hander was slated to come in directly behind opener Justin Dunn, but the rookie's control problems earned him the hook after 37 pitches, five walks and just two batters retired in the first inning. After right-hander Zac Grotz served as a bridge to the third, Milone came in for a solid 63-pitch outing that saw him generate his second straight five-strikeout tally. Milone is expected to serve as the primary pitcher behind Dunn in the rookie's remaining appearances this season.

Blake Snell SP | LAD
Rays' Blake Snell: Joining team in California
Snell (elbow) is joining the Rays in California for their upcoming series against the Angels and Dodgers, MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM reports.
Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports Snell was sharp during a rehab outing with Triple-A Durham on Thursday, retiring half of the six batters he faced on strikeouts and throwing 28 pitches overall. Snell reported feeling "significantly better" than he had in his first rehab start, and he could slot into the rotation next during the two-game set against the Dodgers on Tuesday or Wednesday. However, a more concrete plan is likely to come into focus once the 26-year-old has the chance to meet with team staff over the weekend, as the possibility still exists that Snell may need to throw in a simulated game situation before returning.
