Ross Stripling SP | KC
Blue Jays' Ross Stripling: Piggybacks Robbie Ray, gets save
Stripling was credited with his first save of the season in Wednesday's 14-1 win over the Yankees after tossing four shutout innings in long relief. He gave up one hit and no walks while striking out three.
Stripling started in his previous appearance Sept. 18 in Philadelphia, but Toronto moved him back to the bullpen after Matt Shoemaker recently returned from the injured list and rejoined the rotation. On Wednesday, Stripling essentially piggybacked one of the Blue Jays' other trade-deadline pickups, Robbie Ray, who worked four innings before turning the game over to the bullpen. Stripling isn't a lock to be included on the Jays' postseason roster, but his stellar outing against the Yankees certainly bolstered his case for earning a multi-inning relief role.

Zack Greinke SP | KC
Astros' Zack Greinke: Loses third straight decision
Greinke (3-3) took the loss against the Mariners on Wednesday, allowing three runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five over 4.2 innings.
This was Greinke's shortest start since July 26 and continued a second-half slide. He ends the regular season having lost his last three decisions, with a 5.73 ERA over his last seven starts.

Dean Kremer SP | MIN
Orioles' Dean Kremer: Lit up by Red Sox
Kremer (1-1) allowed seven runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two over 2.2 innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.
While he didn't allow any homers, all four run-scoring hits the Red Sox produced in the third inning went for extra bases, three of which came off Kremer. That hard contact made it a short outing for the righty, who will finish 2020 with a 4.82 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 22:12 K:BB in 18.2 innings across four starts. He hadn't allowed more than one run in a game prior to Wednesday.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Twins' Kenta Maeda: Impresses against Detroit
Maeda (6-1) earned the win Wednesday against the Tigers. He allowed three runs on four hits while fanning nine across six innings.
Maeda posted yet another quality start in his final turn of the regular campaign. The former Dodgers hurler ended the regular season with a 2.70 ERA and is expected to play a big role for the Twins in the postseason as one of Minnesota's top arms. He also ended the regular season striking out at least seven in each of his final seven outings.

Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX
Red Sox's Nathan Eovaldi: Tosses six shutout innings
Eovaldi (4-2) pitched six shutout innings, allowing seven hits and a walk while striking out eight in a win over the Orioles on Wednesday.
Eovaldi was locked in during this start, and the Red Sox offense gave him plenty of breathing room. The right-hander didn't allow a run over his last 11 innings this season. He finishes the season with a 3.72 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 52:7 K:BB across 48.1 innings.

Casey Mize SP | SD
Tigers' Casey Mize: Takes loss Wednesday
Mize (0-3) allowed six runs on five hits across 4.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Twins. He walked two and struck out four.
Making his third appearance against Minnesota this year, Mize wasn't particularly effective, and he was touched for two home runs for the second straight start. The 23-year-old tossed a season-high 89 pitches in what could be the last outing of his debut campaign, unless the Tigers end up playing a doubleheader against St. Louis on Monday. Mize underwhelmed with a 6.99 ERA and 1.48 WHIP across 28.1 innings, but the former No. 1 overall draft pick remains an important part of Detroit's future and could take a step forward in 2021.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Blue Jays' Robbie Ray: Controls Yankees
Ray allowed three hits over four scoreless innings during the Blue Jays' 14-1 win over the Yankees on Wednesday. He walked four while striking out five.
Wednesday marked Ray's first outing without an earned run since he was acquired by Toronto. Through five starts with the Blue Jays, the 28-year-old has logged a 6.62 ERA over 20.2 innings of work.

Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD
Rays' Tyler Glasnow: Wins third straight start
Glasnow (5-1) allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings in a win over the Mets on Wednesday.
Glasnow allowed solo shots to Andres Gimenez and Dominic Smith, but he was otherwise dominant against the Mets. The right-handed Glasnow has won three straight starts and five of his last six outings. He now has a respectable 4.08 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 91:22 K:BB across 57.1 innings this season. Glasnow will look to keep up the solid work as a key member of the Rays' rotation in the playoffs.

Lucas Giolito SP | SD
White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Fans 11 in no-decision
Giolito allowed two runs on four hits over six innings of work during Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the Indians. He struck out 11 while walking three.
Giolito was locked into a pitcher's duel, as the Indians' Shane Bieber and Triston McKenzie combined for seven innings without allowing an earned run. Giolito threw 119 pitches (76 for strikes) and has thrown over 100 pitches in three of his past seven starts. He'll now have extra rest as the White Sox look towards the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

Shane Bieber SP | TOR
Indians' Shane Bieber: Strikes out 10 in duel
Bieber threw five scoreless innings Wednesday, allowing two hits while striking out 10 during the Indians' 3-2 win over the White Sox. He also walked three while getting a no-decision.
The White Sox tacked on an unearned run in the second and both of their runs for the game were unearned. Bieber finishes his regular season with a sparkling 1.63 ERA across 77.1 innings pitched. The Cy Young frontrunner boasts a 6.22 K/BB ratio and 12.44 strikeouts per nine innings.
