Civale (2-0) gave up one run on three hits while fanning six across 7.2 innings in Saturday's win over the Tigers.

Civale was excellent on the mound, although his lone mistake was punished; Robbie Grossman took him deep in the top of the seventh. Civale has pitched at least seven innings in his first two starts of the campaign while posting a strong 12:3 K:BB thus far, and he will try to keep it going in his next start, scheduled for April 15 on the road against the White Sox.

Montas (1-1) gave up one run on six hits and a walk while striking out five across six innings in Saturday's win over the Astros.

Montas had a woeful debut against the Dodgers, but he bounced back quickly and limited the damage to just one run while also recording his first quality start of the campaign. Montas is expected to lead the A's pitching staff and his next scheduled start will come at home against the Tigers on April 17.

Lyles allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one across 4.1 innings in Saturday's loss to the Padres. He did not factor in the decision.

Lyles got through the first three innings unharmed before giving up a pair of home runs to Eric Hosmer and Ha-Seong Kim. The 30-year-old is slated in the starting rotation, but he could transition to a long-relief role if his struggles continue. Lyles is coming off a poor start with a 7.02 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 2021. His next scheduled start is Thursday at Tampa Bay.

Urquidy (0-1) gave up four runs on seven hits while fanning seven across six innings Saturday against the Athletics. He was tagged with the loss.

Urquidy tossed more than 90 pitches for the second start in a row, but he was more efficient in this one -- he went six complete innings, but that wasn't enough to outduel Frankie Montas, who allowed just one run through six frames. This was a step in the right direction for the 25-year-old compared to his season debut, and he will look to earn his first win of the season in his next start, scheduled for April 16 at Seattle.

Odorizzi (not injury related) is expected to start Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 31-year-old made a start at the Astros' alternate training site last Thursday, and he's set to remain on schedule by making his season debut Tuesday versus Detroit. Odorizzi had a delayed build-up program in spring training after signing with Houston in early March, but it appears he'll end up missing less than two weeks to begin the regular season.

Javier was optioned to the alternate training site after Saturday's loss to the A's, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

The right-hander delivered five scoreless frames in his second start of the season Thursday, but he'll head to the alternate site since Houston has three scheduled days off in the next nine days. Javier will remain built up as a starter and should rejoin the rotation when the Astros next need a fifth starter during the series against the Angels, which begins April 22.

Kikuchi gave up two runs on five hits and two walks during Saturday's extra-inning win over the Twins. He had six strikeouts and did not factor in the decision.

The 29-year-old wasn't able to replicate the 10 strikeouts from his season debut, but he kept Minnesota off the board apart from a two-run homer by Nelson Cruz during the third inning. Kikuchi has allowed five runs on 11 hits with a 16:3 K:BB over 12 innings through his first two starts of 2021, and he next lines up to face the Astros on Friday.

German was optioned to the Yankees' alternate training site Saturday.

German was charged with his second loss of the season Saturday as he allowed four runs on eight hits and one walk while striking out five in four innings against the Rays. The Yankees aren't in need of a fifth starter in the near future since they have two upcoming days off, so German will get to work on things at the team's alternate camp following an underwhelming start to the 2021 campaign.

Teheran has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right shoulder strain, retroactive to April 7.

Teheran was scratched from his scheduled start against Cleveland on Friday due to triceps tightness, and he's now been diagnosed with a shoulder strain that will force him to miss additional time. Alex Lange was recalled by the Tigers in a corresponding move. Derek Holland could fill in as a starter while Teheran is sidelined.

Cease will start Sunday's game against the Royals, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Cease was scheduled to start Saturday's matchup before it was rained out, but he'll end up taking the mound one day later for Sunday's series finale. Cease allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out three in 4.2 innings during his season debut against the Angels on Sunday.
