Greinke (3-1) yielded three runs on a walk and seven hits over seven innings Friday, striking out five and picking up a win over the Rangers.

Greinke has now given up at least three runs in four straight starts but Friday's win was his longest outing since April 23. The veteran righty never really settled into a groove against the Rangers, allowing a run in the third, fourth and seventh frames. He's sporting a 40:11 K:BB and a 4.18 ERA through 51.2 innings on the year. Greinke is projected to take the mound in Oakland next week.

Kopech didn't factor into the decision in the second game of Friday's doubleheader against the Royals, allowing one run on two hits and two walks over four innings. He struck out five.

The right-hander fired 40 of 65 pitches for strikes but wasn't allowed to head out for the fifth inning to try and secure his third win of the year. Kopech has been outstanding no matter what role he's been used in, posting a 1.71 ERA and 40:10 K:BB through 26.1 innings over 10 appearances (three starts).

Giolito (2-4) took the loss in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the Royals, giving up five runs on five hits and three walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

Homers by Michael Taylor in the second inning and Salvador Perez in the third accounted for all the damage off Giolito. It's the third time in the last five starts the right-hander has served up multiple homers, helping to push his ERA up to 4.97 despite a strong 50:18 K:BB through 41.2 innings.

Matz allowed four hits and three walks with nine strikeouts in five scoreless innings versus Philadelphia on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

Matz kept runs off the board, but he needed 106 pitches (65 strikes) to get through five frames. It was the first time he allowed fewer than three runs since April 17, his third start of the year. The southpaw has a 4.29 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 46:13 K:BB across 42 innings in eight starts. Matz is still at 5-2 on the year, and he lines up to face Boston next week.

Keller (3-4) picked up the win in the first game of Friday's doubleheader against the White Sox, allowing two runs on five hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out seven.

The right-hander tossed 60 of 97 pitches for strikes while setting a new season high in K's. Keller has started to turn things around after a rough start to the year, posting a 3.80 ERA and 20:7 K:BB over his last four outings and 21.1 innings, although he also gave up five unearned runs during that stretch.

Montas (5-2) allowed one run on four hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over the Twins.

Montas cruised through five scoreless frames before serving up a solo shot to Josh Donaldson in the sixth. He earned his third consecutive win and allowed fewer than two runs for the first time in his last five outings. The 6-foot-2 right-hander lowered his season ERA to 4.93 through 42 frames. Montas is in line to face the Astros at home next week.

Glasnow allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out 10 over eight innings in a no-decision versus the Mets on Friday.

The only damage against Glasnow came in the form of a two-run home run by Jonathan Villar in the fifth inning. Friday was the fifth time in nine starts Glasnow has racked up double-digit strikeouts. Unfortunately, he's given up seven long balls in his last five outings. For the season, the right-hander has a 2.35 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 85:20 K:BB across 57.1 innings. He remains at 4-2 heading into next week's start versus Baltimore.

Valdez (finger) will throw three innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Sugar Land on Friday, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Valdez's fractured left ring finger was at one point worried to be a season-ending injury, but it looks as though he's on track to miss significantly less than half of the campaign. A three-inning appearance Friday would likely leave him two or three rehab starts away from returning to the active roster, placing his probable return sometime in early June.

Urquidy (shoulder) was diagnosed with inflammation after undergoing an MRI on Thursday, and it's unclear if he'll take his next turn in the rotation, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The 26-year-old exited Wednesday's start with posterior shoulder discomfort, and it appears the Astros aren't concerned he's dealing with any serious issue. Urquidy's next turn through the rotation tentatively lines up for Tuesday in Oakland, though manage Dusty Baker wouldn't commit to the right-hander starting at all during that three-game series.

Severino (elbow) threw to hitters at the Yankees' player development complex in Tampa, Florida, on Thursday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

This was Severino's first time throwing to live hitters since undergoing Tommy John surgery in February of 2020. The right-hander faced a group of hitters that included top prospect Jasson Dominguez and reportedly touched 96 mph with his fastball. Manager Aaron Boone indicated that the session went "really well," so it appears that Severino didn't experience any setbacks. He remains on target for a return later this summer.
