Dunning allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out six across five innings Tuesday against the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.

The only hit Dunning allowed was a solo home run to Robbie Grossman in the fourth inning. He otherwise dominated the Tigers and has now allowed only 10 earned runs across his last 27 innings pitched. On the other hand, Dunning's potential to earn wins and rack up strikeouts has been stifled by the Rangers carefully monitoring his workload. Tuesday's outing was the latest example, as Dunning was pulled after throwing 65 pitches. He left the game with a 5-1 lead, but the bullpen blew his potential chance for a win. Dunning now has a 4.22 ERA with 85 strikeouts across 79 innings this season.

Sale (elbow) will throw two simulated innings Saturday before likely beginning his rehab assignment, Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic reports.

The lefty's Tuesday session was thought to be his last before heading off to real game action, but he apparently needs a bit more simulated work. The Red Sox have not announced yet which minor-league affiliate Sale will join to kick off his rehab assignment.

Wacha will start Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against Cleveland, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wacha's scheduled Tuesday start was postponed due to Tropical Storm Elsa. The right-hander will instead take the ball for the first of two games Wednesday, when he'll be looking to bounce back from a shaky five-run outing in his most recent appearance. The Rays have not confirmed a starter for Game 2, but Josh Fleming (calf) is expected to come off the IL to provide multiple innings in some form.

Watkins will make his first career big-league start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Since receiving a call-up from Triple-A Norfolk last week, Watkins has made one appearance out of the Baltimore bullpen, tossing a scoreless inning Friday against the Angels. The 28-year-old had previously been working as a starter for Norfolk, compiling a 3.58 ERA and 1.12 WHIP across 32.2 innings. Watkins will slot into the Orioles' rotation as a replacement for Travis Lakins, who suffered a significant elbow injury in his first turn as Baltimore's No. 5 starter.

Suarez (3-2) allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three over three innings as he took the loss against the Red Sox on Monday.

Suarez had some trouble locating the strike zone, throwing just 45 of his 75 pitches for strikes while walking a season-high four batters. It was quite a disappointing outing for the 23-year-old after he threw 5.1 strong innings of relief last Monday. He now owns a 2.37 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 29:13 K:BB over 30.1 innings and lines up to start in Seattle over the weekend.

Ober (1-1) picked up the win Monday, giving up two hits and three walks over five scoreless innings in an 8-5 victory over the White Sox. He struck out seven.

The rookie right-hander turned in his best start yet, tossing 57 of 93 pitches for strikes as he recorded his first career win in the majors. Ober has yet to pitch longer than five innings in a start, however, which will make it difficult for him to return to the win column even when he pitches well. On the season, he has a 4.85 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 33:9 K:BB through 29.2 innings.

Perez (7-4) allowed two runs (one earned) on eight hits and one walk while striking out three over 5.1 innings to pick up the win over the Angels on Monday.

Perez was able to snare his seventh win despite pitching fewer than six innings for the 14th time in 17 starts. The left-hander got a big hand from his defense, as Boston outfielders threw out two baserunners, including one at home plate. Perez is expected to pitch the final game of the first half, which will be Sunday at home against the Phillies.

Cease (7-4) allowed six runs on six hits, two walks and a hit batsman while striking out eight over 5.1 innings in taking the loss to Minnesota on Monday.

The White Sox didn't offer much support to Cease, who left with the team trailing 6-1, but he wasn't sharp against the same team he quelled five days earlier. This marks the third time in the last seven starts he's surrendered six earned runs. Cease is expected to pitch once more before the All-Star break, lining up to start Sunday at Baltimore.

Allard (2-5) allowed five runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Monday, striking out nine and taking a loss against the Tigers.

Allard had allowed just one run through five innings before things unraveled in the sixth. Three of the first four Detroit batters reached base before two runs came in on an error by Nate Lowe. Allard was then charged with two more runs after he was removed from the game. He was handed a third straight loss but still owns a 3.45 ERA and a 58:13 K:BB through 57.1 innings. The 23-year-old is projected for another home start this weekend against Oakland.

Hill allowed a run on three hits and a walk over 3.2 innings in Monday's win over Cleveland. He struck out five and did not factor in the decision.

Hill rolled through three scoreless frames to start the contest before coughing up an RBI single to Franmil Reyes in the fourth. It was his shortest appearance since tossing just three innings May 2, but he managed to lower his ERA to 3.65. It was the second time in his last five starts that he allowed fewer than four runs. Hill is lined for another home start this weekend against the Blue Jays.
