Allard (3-10) allowed three runs on seven hits while walking none and striking out two over 6.1 innings to pick up the win over Oakland on Sunday.

Allard survived giving up a couple of home runs to pick up his first win since June 12. The long ball has been issue for the left-hander, who's allowed 12 over his last 36.2 innings (2.9 HR/9). Sunday's outing was his third consecutive quality start, and Allard looks to extend that run in his next expected start Saturday on the road against the Red Sox.

Urquidy (shoulder) threw 34 pitches in a two-inning simulated game Saturday.

The next step will be to get Urquidy into rehab appearances in the minors. The right-hander, who hasn't pitched in the majors since a June 29 start, is expected to rejoin the Astros in September.

Gilbert (5-4) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Blue Jays after allowing five runs on eight hits across four innings, fanning three.

Gilbert gave up two homers Sunday, and both came in the second inning when Teoscar Hernandez and Randal Grichuk took him deep. The right-hander has been inconsistent of late and has gone 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA in three starts during the current month.

Matz (10-7) earned the win Sunday against Seattle after allowing one unearned run on three hits and three walks while fanning four across five innings.

Matz recorded his 10th win of the season, and while he ended just three outs away from recording a quality start, it's worth noting that he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in each of his last three contests. Perhaps more importantly, Matz managed to bounce back following a subpar effort in his previous start when he tossed 4.2 innings while allowing four runs (two earned). The left-hander owns a 1.15 ERA through three appearances this month.

Detmers (1-2) earned the win Sunday against the Astros after tossing six innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out six.

The rookie had a rough start to his MLB career after allowing 11 earned runs across his first 9.1 innings, but he was able to deliver an improved showing in this one and that earned him his first big-league win as a result. It was also the first time Detmers pitched at least six innings, and he also posted the first quality of his MLB career. Last but not least, the six strikeouts represented a season-high mark for him.

Giolito (9-9) allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks over four innings Sunday, striking out eight and taking a loss against the Yankees.

All three runs against Giolito came in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run shot off the bat of Rougned Odor. The 6-foot-6 righty labored through his four frames, throwing 64 of 101 pitches for strikes and walking more than one batter for the first time in his last four appearances. It's been an inconsistent August for Giolito so far; his eight-inning gem against the Twins is sandwiched between a pair of starts where he allowed a combined nine runs over eight innings, raising his season ERA to 3.83. He's lined up for a road start against the Rays next week.

Cortes (1-1) allowed one run on seven hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out seven and earning a win over the White Sox.

Cortes coughed up six singles through five shutout frames before Andrew Vaughn finally broke through with a solo shot in the sixth. It was the longest outing of his career and his seven punchouts tied his career best. The 26-year-old has finished at least five innings in each of his last four outings and his season ERA fell to 2.55 after Sunday's performance. Cortes is currently lined up to face the Twins at home next week.

McCullers (9-4) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Angels after allowing two runs on six hits and a walk while fanning eight across 5.2 innings.

McCullers ended just one out away from recording a quality start, but the strong outing wasn't enough to lift the Astros to a win over the Angels in the series finale. McCullers has been particularly good when it comes to striking out batters, as he has fanned at least eight in seven of his last eight outings. The veteran owns a 3.22 ERA on the season across 113.2 innings.

Bubic (3-6) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk over 1.1 innings Sunday, striking out one and taking a loss against St. Louis.

Bubic was hit hard right out of the gate Sunday, allowing three runs in the first inning as the Cardinals brought all nine starters to the plate. He then coughed up four more runs in the second and served up homers to Nolan Arenado and Tyler O'Neill. The 23-year-old southpaw tossed 56 pitches as his season ERA shot up from 4.43 to 5.09 through 86.2 innings. Bubic had given up seven runs over 22.2 innings (2.78 ERA) over his four previous starts. He's lined up to face the Cubs on the road next weekend.

Rodriguez (9-6) allowed an unearned run on three hits and three walks with six strikeouts over six innings, earning the win over Baltimore on Sunday.

Rodriguez has been on a good run since a rocky outing versus Toronto on July 29. Across his last three starts, he's given up just three runs (two earned) in 16.1 innings while striking out 24. The southpaw allowed half of his six baserunners Sunday in a sloppy first inning before settling down to turn in a dominant start. He has a 4.97 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 145:36 K:BB across 116 innings this season. Rodriguez lines up for another favorable home start versus Texas next weekend.
