Arihara (2-4) yielded six runs on eight hits with just one strikeout in four innings while taking the loss Wednesday against Houston.

Arihara was solid -- albeit with a limited workload -- in his first two starts back from his shoulder injury, but he was overmatched Wednesday against the potent Astros. He coughed up gopher balls to Jake Meyers and Marwin Gonzalez in the second inning, then yielded three more runs in the fourth to end his night. Arihara will face another tough assignment in his next scheduled outing on the road against the Yankees.

Urquidy (7-3) earned the win Wednesday against Texas, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with six strikeouts over six innings.

A run-scoring groundout by Yonny Hernandez in the third inning was the lone blemish on the day for Urquidy, who put together a quality start after going just a combined 8.2 innings over his three previous outings. The 26-year-old has lost just once since the start of May and now owns a 3.38 ERA and 78:17 K:BB in 90.2 innings overall this season. He's scheduled to face the Angels on the road in his next start.

Bassitt (face) completed a bullpen session Wednesday and is scheduled to throw against hitters Saturday, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Bassitt continues to work through his rehab program as he returns from the facial surgery in late August. The right-hander could return from the injured list for multiple starts before the end of the season, though it's unclear whether he'll require a rehab assignment.

Wells (2-3) took the loss after he surrendered two runs on two hits and a walk while recording just one out in a blown save Wednesday versus the Yankees.

The closer was called upon to protect a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth but gave up a two-run single to Brett Gardner. It was the second consecutive outing in which he has blown a save, a sample in which he's given up six runs in 1.2 innings. Cole Sulser could end up getting the next save opportunity for the Orioles.

Means allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four over 5.2 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Yankees. He did not factor into the game's decision.

The 28-year-old surrendered both runs on a two-run home run by Gio Urshela in the third inning. He threw 103 pitches and was pulled after walking Luke Voit with two outs in the sixth inning. Means has put together five straight strong starts, compiling a 3.30 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with three quality starts over those outings. He's projected to face the Phillies in his next start Monday.

Quantrill (6-3) went 6.2 innings Wednesday, allowing three unearned runs on two hits and three walks to earn the win against Minnesota. He had four strikeouts.

The 26-year-old put together six scoreless frames before giving up a three-run home run to Miguel Sano in the seventh. The runs were all unearned, however, due to a Bobby Bradley fielding error two batters earlier that had extended the inning. It was the second straight quality start and second win in a row for Quantrill, who has put together a 2.89 ERA and 110:45 K:BB in 137 innings this season. He's lined up to face the Royals at home in his next scheduled start.

Cortes pitched 6.1 innings, surrendering one run on three hits and two walks while striking out 11 in Wednesday's win over the Orioles. He did not factor into the game's decision.

The southpaw gave up a solo home run to Austin Hays in the sixth inning, which proved to be the only damage against him in the start. The 11 strikeouts were a career high for the 26-year-old in what was his second longest outing of the year. In his last six starts he has collected four quality starts while posting a 2.47 ERA and 1.05 WHIP. He's lined up to face the Rangers on Monday in his next start.

Manning (4-6) tossed six innings of one-run ball to pick up the win Wednesday against the Brewers. He allowed two hits and three walks while striking out six.

This was probably the best start of Manning's rookie campaign, as he struck out a season-high six batters and tied a season high with the six innings pitched. There was some concern the 23-year-old might miss this start after taking a liner off his left knee in his last outing, but he looked no worse for the wear. It's still been mostly a struggle this year for Manning with a 5.75 ERA, though he's allowed just two total runs across his last two starts. The righty will look to build on the positive momentum in his next scheduled appearance Monday against the White Sox.

Ray (12-5) picked up the win in Wednesday's 6-3 victory over the Rays, allowing one run on four hits over seven innings. He struck out 13 without walking a batter.

The lefty continues to steamroll the opposition, regardless of who he's facing. Ray has fanned double-digit batters in five of his last six starts, lowering his ERA to 2.64 and WHIP to 1.01 -- both career bests, if he maintains that pace through his final outings -- while taking the MLB lead in strikeouts at 233 and bolstering his Cy Young case.

Wacha (3-5) took the loss Wednesday, coughing up six runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings as the Rays fell 6-3 to the Blue Jays. He struck out five.

After a handful of solid outings, Wacha turned in a dud. The right-hander served up a three-run blast to Bo Bichette in the first inning and never really recovered, although he was able to hang on for six innings to help save the bullpen a little. Wacha will carry a 5.56 ERA and 109:28 K:BB through 111.2 innings into his next start.
