The 25-year-old allowed a season-high seven baserunners in this one, ultimately giving up two earned runs. Ryan surrendered his first run in the bottom of the fourth inning after Tyler Nevin reached on a fielding error, scoring Austin Hays from third base in the process. He allowed another run the next inning when Trey Mancini singled, bringing Cedric Mullins across to tie the contest a 2-2. The runs were his first surrendered since April 15, and due to the fact that Ryan failed to finish the fifth inning, he did not qualify for the victory after the Twins took the lead the in the top of the sixth frame. The right-hander now sports a 1.63 ERA and 0.83 WHIP with 28 punchouts over 27.2 innings this season.

Syndergaard (2-1) picked up the loss Tuesday after pitching seven innings, surrendering three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out three against the Red Sox.

After being scratched from his last start Friday while dealing with an illness, Syndergaard returned to the mound Tuesday and posted his second quality start of the 2022 campaign. The right-hander gave up two runs in the fourth inning -- including a solo home run by Rafael Devers -- before later surrendering a third run on a Trevor Story sacrifice fly in the seventh frame. He has now allowed three or less runs in all four of his starts this year. Syndergaard owns a 2.63 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 14 punchouts over 24 innings in his first season with the Angels.

Javier (2-0) got the win during Tuesday's 4-0 victory over Seattle, allowing two hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 5.1 scoreless innings.

Javier retired the first eight batters he faced though noticeably slowed down by permitting two baserunners in the fifth inning and one in the sixth, prompting his removal. The 25-year-old has improved his pitch count in each of his five appearances and has only allowed one run in 11.2 innings across three starts. This performance probably earned him another turn, likely to come next week against Minnesota.

Gray allowed three runs on five hits and one walk over three innings during Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Phillies, He had three strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

Gray surrendered three runs on three hits during the opening frame but followed with two straight scoreless innings. The right-hander was limited to 60 pitches in his first start back from the injured list and figures keep building up his workload in subsequent outings. He has a 7.50 ERA through three starts and lines up to next take the mound Sunday versus the surging Yankees.

Kopech struck out five in four scoreless innings, allowing four hits and two walks in a 3-1 win Tuesday over the Cubs. He did not factor into the decision.

Kopech allowed multiple baserunners in three of the four innings he pitched but was able to get out of trouble each time. He left the game after tossing 83 pitches. The 26-year-old has an excellent 1.17 ERA in 23 innings this season, not allowing more than two runs in any start and not yet giving up a homer. Over his first five starts, however, he has struggled with control, walking 4.3 batters per nine innings. His next start will likely be early next week against Cleveland.

Wacha (3-0) earned the win Tuesday after tossing 5.2 scoreless innings, surrendering three hits and walking two while registering two strikeouts against the Angels.

The 30-year-old came within one out of registering his second consecutive quality start Tuesday, limiting the Angels to just three singles and two walks. The effort was good enough to earn him a win for a third consecutive outing. Wacha has been electric on the mound so far in his first season with the Red Sox, giving up two or fewer runs in all five of his starts. His season numbers now stand at a 1.38 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 19 strikeouts over 26 innings.

Bishop (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Bowie on Tuesday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bishop has a 4.97 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB over 12.2 innings this season and will now be unavailable for at least the next week. The specifics of the issue remain unclear, though it was labeled a non-sports injury.

Gray (knee) was activated from the 10-day injured list and is starting Tuesday at Philadelphia, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

The 30-year-old landed on the shelf with a low-grade MCL sprain after his last start April 19, and he'll retake the mound for the Rangers exactly two weeks later. Gray has made only two starts this season, as he also suffered a finger injury Opening Day which required a short stint on the injured list. The right-hander threw 77 pitches over five innings his last time out and figures to face some minor workload restrictions Tuesday given his limited workload so far this season.

Gray (hamstring) will make a second minor-league rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Britt Ghiroli of The Athletic reports.

Gray threw three scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks Sunday in his first rehab start for Single-A Fort Myers. Given the strong showing with Fort Myers, Gray looked to be a candidate to potentially return from the 10-day injured list this week, but the Twins will instead give him additional time to stretch out in the minors. Gray's continued absence should pave the way for rookie Josh Winder to make a second turn through the rotation.

The Tigers announced that Faedo will be recalled from Triple-A Toledo to serve as Detroit's starting pitcher for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Pirates.

The 2017 first-round selection will be designated as the 27th man for the twin bill and make his MLB debut in the nightcap while Michael Pineda takes the hill for Game 1. Dating back to the end of the 2019 season, Faedo has tossed just 15.2 innings in affiliated ball, with Tommy John surgery plus the cancellation of the 2020 minor-league season due to the COVID-19 pandemic conspiring to keep him off the mound. However, Faedo looked plenty healthy in his debut for Toledo on April 27, covering five scoreless innings while striking out eight. Ideally, the Tigers would give Faedo more time to stretch out at Triple-A, but he'll be summoned to the big leagues due to Detroit being down several other starting pitchers as it begins a stretch of 17 games in 15 days. Faedo will likely be optioned back to the minors following the doubleheader.
