Faedo was transferred from High-A Lakeland to Triple-A Toledo on Saturday.

Faedo started the 2022 season with Lakeland to build up his pitch count, as he had not thrown in affiliated ball since 2019 after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He worked 10.2 innings with a 12:3 K:BB at the level prior to his promotion, and he threw four innings in his latest outing. If Faedo performs well, it's possible he could reach the majors this season, but the Tigers will likely take a cautious approach given his injury history.

Kaprielian (shoulder) will make another rehab start before returning from the injured list, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Kaprielian has been dealing with a shoulder issue since mid-March. He's made a pair of rehab starts already, but his last one didn't go particularly well, as he allowed four runs on nine hits in 4.2 innings. The A's presumably want to see him have a stronger performance before activating him from the injured list.

Ryu (forearm) has ramped up his throwing program, increasing his intensity and throwing from 120 feet, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Ryu made just two poor starts before landing on the injured list with forearm inflammation. Previous reports indicated he could miss just two or three starts. The fact that he's ramping up his intensity within a week of hitting the injured list suggests that's possible, but his timeline could be extended if he needs a rehab start.

Quantrill (illness) will start Saturday against the Yankees.

Manager Terry Francona said Friday that Quantrill was expected to start Saturday, and he will indeed do just that. Quantrill has been effective to open the season, posting a 3.72 ERA and 1.03 WHIP in 9.2 innings over two starts.

Means announced Saturday via his personal Twitter account that he will undergo Tommy John surgery.

Means revealed that he underwent multiple MRIs on his injured left arm, and it was ultimately decided that he would go under the knife. A timeline for Means' return could be revealed post-procedure, but his 2022 campaign will come to an early end, and his recovery will likely extend into next season.

Manning (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Saturday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

This is the first bullpen session he has thrown since his shoulder first flared up. Manning struck out four with zero walks in eight innings prior to landing on the injured list. It's unclear when he will be activated, but it's promising that he is already throwing.

Detmers (0-1) took the loss Friday as the Angels fell 5-3 to the Orioles, giving up two runs on three hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.

It was a solid effort from the rookie left-hander, who threw 48 of 70 pitches for strikes before exiting, but Detmers left the game with his team down 2-0, and the Halos never found an equalizer. Detmers' 6.57 ERA in three starts looks rough, but his 1.30 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB through 12.1 innings suggest he's been at least a little bit unlucky.

Verlander didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 loss to the Blue Jays, giving up three runs on four hits and a walk over six innings while striking out five.

The future Hall of Famer seemed headed for his second win of the year until he served up back-to-back homers to Santiago Espinal and Bradley Zimmer in the fifth inning, tying the game at 3-3. Verlander still delivered his second straight quality start, and he doesn't seem to have missed a beat in his return from Tommy John surgery, posting a 1.89 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB through his first 19 innings of 2022.

Stripling didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-3 win over the Astros, giving up three runs on five hits and a walk over four innings. He struck out two.

All the damage came in the third inning, and it might have been worse had Santiago Espinal not made a great defensive play to snag a bases-loaded line drive by Yordan Alvarez. Stripling got the hook after 61 pitches (42 strikes) and thus still hasn't lasted longer than four innings since moving into the rotation, limiting his fantasy appeal. On the season, the right-hander has a 4.50 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 5:4 K:BB through 10 innings.

Keller (0-2) was handed the loss during Friday's 4-1 loss at the hands of the Mariners, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 4.2 innings.

Keller pitched solid the first time through the order but fell apart in the fourth, surrendering four runs on four hits and an error, which proved to be the crushing blow. The outing was the first non-quality start for the 26-year-old, who still possesses an impressive 2.55 ERA through 17.2 innings and three starts on the season. He's slated to take the hill next week Thursday against the White Sox.
