Eovaldi (1-2) took the loss during Tuesday's 13-4 defeat at the hands of the Astros, allowing nine runs (six earned) on eight hits in 1.2 innings. He failed to record a strikeout.

Eovaldi recorded a five-pitch first inning, but it was all downhill from there as he surrendered five home runs before being pulled while only recording two outs in the second. This marked the 32-year-old's first time allowing more than three runs in eight turns this season, and his ERA jumped more than a full run to 4.32. He'll look to get back on track this weekend with another start against Seattle on the docket.

Singer (1-0) earned the win during the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox after giving up four hits with nine strikeouts and zero walks over seven scoreless innings. He was optioned to Triple-A Omaha after the contest.

Singer served as the 27th man for the twin bill, so it's not a surprise he's returning to the minors despite the impressive showing. The right-hander pounded the zone and threw 70 of his 93 pitches for strikes while generating 18 swings and misses and showing new confidence in his changeup, which he used 17 percent of the time Singer was shifted to the bullpen for the start of the season and was sent to Triple-A after three relief outings, but he returned to the majors and pitched a gem in his first start of the year. The 25-year-old should receive another look in the major-league rotation before long following Tuesday's performance.

Urquidy (3-1) got the win during Tuesday's 13-4 victory over Boston, allowing four runs on 12 hits and one walk with one strikeout in five innings.

Urquidy didn't have his best stuff Tuesday but was bailed out by Houston's offense scoring nine runs in the second inning. The 26-year-old surrendered a season-high 12 hits -- including multiple in each of his five frames -- but was able to strand eight baserunners, which allowed him to go the minimum for the victory on 99 pitches. The outing inflated Urquidy's ERA to 4.81 and a 6.28 xERA portends negative regression ahead, potentially as soon as a tentative second start this week against the Rangers on Sunday.

Watkins pitched four innings, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one in Tuesday's loss to the Yankees. He did not factor into the decision.

Aaron Judge ripped an RBI double off Watkins in the first frame and then added a solo shot off him in the top of the third, accounting for all the damage against Watkins in the contest. The homer was the fifth that the right-hander has allowed this season, while the one punchout matched a season low. Watkins has struggled to pitch deep into contests this year, reaching five innings in only two of his seven starts. On the campaign he has produced an underwhelming 5.10 ERA and 1.60 WHIP with 14 strikeouts over 30 frames.

Taillon (4-1) grabbed the win Tuesday after he tossed five innings, surrendering three runs on six hits and a walk while striking out two versus the Orioles.

Taillon was able to snag a win in what was his third shot versus the Orioles this season after he failed to reach five innings in his prior two starts against them. He gave up a solo homer to Ramon Urias in the second frame before giving up two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. The 30-year-old has now allowed three or fewer runs in each of his first seven starts to open the season, though he has only produced one quality start in 2022. Now in his second season with the Yankees, Taillon owns a 3.28 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 27 strikeouts over 35.2 innings.

Manager Rocco Baldelli said Tuesday that Ober (groin) will return from the injured list to start during the upcoming three-game series against the Royals, which begins Friday, Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

The 26-year-old covered five innings during his rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday, and it's not a major surprise he'll make his next outing in the majors. Ober may face some minor workload limitations in his first start back from the groin injury which has sidelined him the past few weeks.

Gilbert (4-2) was tagged with the loss Tuesday after he pitched seven innings, surrendering three runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine versus the Blue Jays.

Gilbert gave up a three-run triple to George Springer in the bottom of the second frame, accounting for all the damage against him in the 3-0 defeat Tuesday. The right-hander secured his second quality start of the campaign while also matching his season high with nine punchouts. After a terrific start to the season, Gilbert has allowed 10 runs in 17 innings over his last three outings. He tentatively lines up to face Boston on Sunday.

Berrios (3-2) got the win Tuesday after pitching seven scoreless innings, giving up six hits and two walks while striking out four versus the Mariners.

Berrios was very effective Tuesday, allowing only one baserunner to reach third in the outing. After two consecutive clunkers where he combined to surrender 11 runs in 10 innings, the right-hander registered his third quality start of the year while also picking up victory No. 3. Berrios was still unable to strike out many batters and is now at a 6.15 K/9 on the year, which represents a career low. His season-long stats stand at a 4.83 ERA and 1.49 WHIP with 28 punchouts over 41 innings in eight starts.

Faedo is listed as the Tigers' starting pitcher for Saturday's game at Cleveland, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Faedo's inclusion in the rotation for a fourth straight turn comes as little surprise after he once again turned in another serviceable outing while taking a no-decision in Monday's win over the Rays. He struck out four over 5.2 innings while allowing one earned run and five baserunners, lowering his ERA and WHIP to 2.87 and 1.28, respectively. The Tigers are expected to get Matt Manning (shoulder) back from the injured list early next week, but Faedo should have the chance to stick around as the team's fifth starter until one of Casey Mize (elbow), Tyler Alexander (elbow) or Michael Pineda (finger) is cleared to return from the shelf.

The Astros placed Odorizzi on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with lower left leg discomfort.

The diagnosis matches how the Astros labeled the injury shortly after Odorizzi was carted off the field in the sixth inning of his start Monday against the Red Sox. The team relays that Odorizzi underwent an MRI on his leg earlier Tuesday, but a clearer update on the exact nature and severity of his injury may not be known for another day or two. Houston recalled reliever Seth Martinez from Triple-A Sugar Land to take Odorizzi's spot on the 26-man active roster, but the team may not tab a replacement for him in the rotation. Odorizzi had already been part of a six-man rotation, so the Astros may choose to condense their starting staff to the traditional five pitchers in the wake of his absence.
