Gray (4-1) picked up the win Tuesday, scattering three hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings in an 11-1 rout of the Guardians. He struck out three.

The right-hander wasn't dominant but was stingy with baserunners, and what action Cleveland did have on the basepaths mostly got erased by three double plays. The quality start was Gray's fourth of the year, and he'll take a 2.17 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 49:11 K:BB through 49.2 innings into his next outing.

Eovaldi (back) played catch Monday and is expected to throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Wednesday's session will mark Eovaldi's first time throwing off a mound since he landed on the injured list June 12. The right-hander is not currently with the team on its road trip.

Giolito did not factor in the decision against the Angels on Monday, completing six innings and allowing two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six.

Giolito had been struggling mightily entering the contest, allowing 30 runs (27 earned) over his previous 25.2 innings. He appeared to straighten things out against the Angels, keeping the ball in the park for the first time over his past six outings and notching a quality start. However, a seventh-inning Los Angeles rally prevented him from snapping a three-game winless streak. Giolito will look to use this strong start to turn things around, as his 5.19 ERA and 1.53 WHIP are significantly worse than his career norms. There are some peripherals that suggest his surface numbers are likely to improve, including an excellent 10.6 K/9 and a .360 BABIP that will probably drop.

Syndergaard (5-6) earned the win over the White Sox on Monday, tossing seven innings and allowing three runs on six hits and one walk while striking out seven.

Syndergaard shut down the White Sox through five innings, but Chicago got to him for three runs between the sixth and seventh frames. The right-hander appeared to be in line for a loss following his final inning, but the Angels scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to turn things around and hand him the victory. Syndergaard had some of his best stuff this season in the contest, registering 17 swinging strikes and tying a campaign high with seven punchouts. He hasn't been spectacular in his first season with the Angels, but Syndergaard has provided steady numbers with a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 47:16 K:BB over 65.1 innings.

Montgomery allowed five runs on six hits and a walk over 6.2 innings in Monday's win over Oakland. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

Montgomery was thrashed for five runs during a disastrous third inning that included a three-run double by Elvis Andrus. After that, he gave up just one hit over his final 3.2 frames. He's allowed nine runs across 12.2 innings over his last two starts, raising his season ERA from 2.72 to 3.27 in the process. Montgomery now owns a 64:14 K:BB through 15 starts. The 29-year-old is lined up to start in Cleveland this weekend.

Blackburn allowed three runs on five hits and two walks over five innings in Monday's loss to the Yankees. He struck out seven and did not factor in the decision.

Blackburn was taken deep twice in Yankee Stadium on Monday with Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton each a ripping solo shot against the 28-year-old. After giving up just two home runs over an eight-game stretch, Blackburn has allowed four over his last two outings. He's also seen his ERA jump from 1.70 to 3.12 since May 30. Blackburn is expected to take the mound in Seattle this weekend.

Seabold (0-1) allowed seven runs on nine hits and a walk over 4.2 innings Monday, striking out seven and taking a loss against Toronto.

Seabold coughed up three long balls in the rough outing, including two-run homers from Vladimir Guerrero and Matt Chapman in the third and fifth innings, respectively. On a positive note, he struck out seven batters and forced 21 swinging strikes on 86 pitches. The 26-year-old has allowed nine runs through 7.2 innings in his two career MLB appearances. Seabold will likely be sent back to Triple-A Worcester.

Gausman (6-6) yielded four hits and two walks over seven shutout innings Monday, striking out 10 and earning a win over Boston.

Gausman allowed just one extra-base hit -- a double by Rafael Devers that took an odd hop off second base -- and rarely faced much trouble in Monday's dominant performance. It was his first scoreless outing since May 24 and his second of the year with double-digit punchouts. In three starts against the Red Sox this season, Gausman is 2-0 with a terrific 27:2 K:BB while giving up just one run over 21 innings. The 31-year-old will carry a 2.93 ERA into his projected home matchup with the Rays this weekend.

Wells will "be held back a bit" in Monday's start against Seattle, Zachary Silver of MLB.com reports.

Wells threw a season-high 94 pitchers in his prior outing, which came Wednesday against the Nationals. He particularly struggled with his control as he walked four batters across only five innings. As a result, he may be on a pitch count Monday, though no specific plans were revealed. Wells has worked at least five innings in each of his last three starts, though he began the season by completing fewer than five frames in three of his seven appearances.

Whitlock (hip) will face live hitters and go through fielding drills Friday in Chicago, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

Whitlock resumed facing hitters last week, but he slowed down his recovery process over the weekend since he was still experiencing pain. A better idea of the right-hander's return timetable should be revealed based on how he feels following Friday's throwing sessions.
