Houck (1-0) yielded three runs on five hits and a walk over five innings Sunday, striking out five and picking up a win over Baltimore.

The 26-year-old righty rolled through four scoreless frames before allowing home runs to Adam Frazier and Cedric Mullins in the fifth. Houck tossed 45 of 70 pitches for strikes, including 10 whiffs on 27 swings. As was the case last season, he mostly relied on the slider but also threw 19 cutters. Houck is lined up to take the mound in Detroit next week.

Waldichuk (0-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing six runs on nine hits and one walk over 5.2 innings against the Angels. He struck out four.

Waldichuk struggled in his final spring start and wasn't particularly sharp during his regular-season debut Sunday. He began the matchup by tossing three scoreless frames but gave up three home runs between the fourth and fifth innings. The southpaw got his first taste of big-league action last year and posted a 4.93 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 34.2 innings over seven starts. He tentatively lines up to make his next start in Tampa Bay on Friday, but he doesn't have much fantasy value in redraft leagues at this point.

Anderson (1-0) earned the win Sunday, allowing zero runs on four hits and two walks across six innings in a 6-0 victory over the Athletics. He struck out four.

Anderson is coming off a career-best campaign in which he posted a 2.57 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 15-5 record over 30 appearances (28 starts) with the Dodgers. He logged a 1.35 ERA and 0.90 WHIP in 13.1 innings over three spring outings, and his regular season got off to a solid start during Sunday's team debut in a favorable matchup. He tentatively lines up to make his next start at home against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Irvin (0-1) allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks over four innings Sunday, striking out four and taking a loss against Boston.

Irvin never found a groove Sunday, allowing a run in each of the first three innings followed by three more in the fifth. He forced just four swinging strikes on 88 total pitches. On the bright side, only two of the eight hits he allowed went for extra bases, including Enrique Hernandez's solo homer. Irvin is projected to face the Yankees at home next week.

Bassitt (0-1) took the loss Sunday, allowing nine runs on 10 hits and zero walks over 3.1 innings against the Cardinals. He did not strike out any batters.

Bassitt worked on his positioning on the rubber this spring, but his adjustments didn't pay off during his Blue Jays debut Sunday. The right-hander has been relatively effective with the Athletics and Mets over the last several seasons, but he posted a 5.60 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 17.2 innings over five appearances (four starts) during spring training this year. He projects to make his next start on the road against the Angels on Friday and will attempt to right the ship following a stretch of rough outings.

Brito was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

Brito made his major-league debut Sunday against the Giants and allowed two hits and a walk while striking out six in five scoreless innings to earn the win. While he'll head to the minors following his impressive showing, the move is likely being made since the Yankees have an off day next week, so the team could choose to utilize a four-man rotation. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see Brito return to the majors around mid-April, especially if Luis Severino (lat) needs more time on the injured list.

Garcia (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the White Sox, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks over five-plus innings. He struck out four.

Garcia allowed just a solo homer through five frames, but he returned for the sixth inning and loaded the bases without recording an out, with two of those runners coming around to score. The right-hander generated 13 swinging strikes but was hit hard at times, giving up five extra-base hits. Garcia will look to rebound his next time out, which tentatively projects to come Saturday at Minnesota.

Clevinger (1-0) had eight strikeouts over five scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday at Houston. He allowed three hits and three walks.

The veteran right-hander delivered 60 of his 98 pitches for strikes and held the Astros without an extra-base hit. Clevinger still has some work to do on his early season command, as he plunked two batters in addition to the three walks, but it was still a strong start to the campaign. He lines up for a favorable matchup against the Pirates on the road next weekend.

Keller (0-1) took the loss Sunday against the Twins, allowing two runs on five hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.

Keller threw only 50 of his 88 pitches for strikes as he struggled with his command, though he was able to hold Minnesota to just two runs. The 27-year-old had a 3.7 BB/9 last season, and the four walks Sunday aren't a good indication he'll be much better in that regard during 2023. The right-hander is tentatively slated to next take the mound Friday in San Francisco.

Ryan (1-0) earned the win Sunday in Kansas City, allowing one run on three hits and two walks over six innings in a 7-4 victory. He had six strikeouts.

The right-hander surrendered a solo homer to Edward Olivares during the second inning, but he was otherwise in complete control against the Royals. He generated only nine swinging strikes but still managed six strikeouts. Ryan will have a much tougher test next weekend as he lines up to pitch at home versus the Astros.
