Detmers did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks over 5.2 innings against the Twins. He struck out 12.

This was Detmers' first time reaching double-digit strikeouts in a start this year. The southpaw has now strung together two consecutive decent starts after lasting fewer than five frames in his previous two outings. The 23-year-old is tentatively slated to face the Red Sox at home in his next appearance.

Ryan did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk over six innings against the Angels. He struck out nine.

Ryan now has 19 strikeouts and just two walks over his last two outings, and he's given up only four earned runs in his past four starts. The right-hander also ranks third in the league with a stingy 0.89 WHIP and is tied for second with six wins. The 26-year-old is tentatively slated to face the Giants at home in his next appearance.

Kopech (2-4) allowed one hit and struck out 10 over eight shutout innings to earn the win Friday over the Royals.

Kopech's lone blemish was a single to Michael Massey in the sixth inning, and Jackie Bradley promptly grounded into a double play to erase the mistake. This was arguably the best start of Kopech's career as he flirted with history while throwing 65 of 98 pitches for strikes. The 27-year-old trimmed his ERA to 4.83 with a 1.33 WHIP and 51:28 K:BB across 50.1 innings through nine starts this season. He'll look to build off of this successful outing when he takes the mound next week in a projected road start in Cleveland.

Greinke (1-5) took the loss Friday versus the White Sox, allowing two runs on five hits over 5.2 innings. He struck out four and didn't walk a batter.

Greinke pitched well outside of a sloppy second inning, but the Royals put just one man on base all game, and he was wiped out by a double play. With inconsistent run support from a team tied for 24th in the majors in runs scored, it will remain difficult for Greinke to find his way to the win column. He has a 4.82 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB through 52.1 innings across 10 starts this season. The veteran is lined up for a home start versus the Tigers next week.

Waldichuk (1-3) took the loss Friday versus the Astros, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and five walks while striking out three over five innings.

Waldichuk continues to have trouble with walks, issuing 16 of them over 15 innings across his last three starts, and he's surrendered at least three runs in five straight outings. For the season, the 25-year-old has a 6.85 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and 39:28 K:BB through 46 innings (nine starts.) Waldichuk is lined up for a road start in Seattle next week.

Bielak (1-1) allowed a run on five hits and three walks while striking out nine over five innings to earn the win Friday over the Athletics.

Bielak has completed five innings in each of his last two starts. He's still allowing a high number of baserunners, but other teams have yet to fully capitalize on that fact yet -- although that's par for the course for the 2023 A's.. The right-hander has a solid 2.89 ERA, but his 1.77 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB through 18.2 innings show that he's got a number of flaws to work out. Bielak is projected for a much tougher road start next week in Milwaukee.

Perez (5-1) allowed two runs on seven hits through seven innings Friday, striking out seven and earning a win over Colorado.

Perez faced little trouble through five shutout frames before Colorado plated two runs on four hits in the sixth inning. He coughed up 11 runs over his previous two starts but bounced back with his fifth win over the year. Perez tied his season best with seven strikeouts and lowered his ERA to 4.01 through 49.1 innings. He's currently expected to start in Pittsburgh next week.

Quantrill allowed three runs on six hits over 5.2 innings during Friday's loss to the Mets. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

Quantrill rolled through four shutout frames before allowing two runs in the fifth inning, including Francisco Alvarez's solo shot. Brett Baty then drilled a solo homer in the sixth. Quantrill failed to complete six innings for the first time since April 24 and gave up multiple home runs for the first time in 2023. He's now sporting a 4.06 ERA across 51 frames. Quantrill is projected for a home matchup against the White Sox next week.

Miller (2-1) allowed three runs on four hits and a walk over 6.1 innings against Atlanta on Friday. He struck out four and was tagged with the loss.

After allowing a run in the first inning, Miller cruised through five scoreless frames. He gave up just one single during that span and retired nine straight batters on two occasions. The rookie righty left in the seventh with two runners on base and was charged with both as they came around to score. Miller had given up just one run through 19 frames before Friday's contest and he still owns a terrific 1.42 ERA. However, after 10 punchouts in his MLB debut, he's recorded just 12 strikeouts over his last three starts. Miller is currently expected to face the Athletics -- the same team he debuted against -- at home next week.

Garcia underwent Tommy John surgery Friday as scheduled.

It was announced earlier this month that Garcia would require the reconstructive elbow procedure and miss the remainder of the 2023 season. Given the usual 14-16 month recovery timeline, he probably won't throw another pitch in a major-league game until at least the 2024 All-Star Game, if not later. The 27-year-old is under Houston's control through 2026.
