Bassitt (8-5) earned the win over San Francisco on Thursday, pitching six scoreless innings during which he allowed three hits and three walks while striking out 12 batters.

Bassitt racked up 18 swinging strikes en route to his career-high mark in punchouts, and it was the first time this season he's fanned more than eight batters in a game. The right-hander isn't known for his strikeout ability -- he's averaged a punchout per inning in only one season in his career and came into Thursday with just six combined Ks over his prior two starts -- but he had his way against a Giants offense that has fanned more than any team in the National League. Beyond missing bats, Bassitt notched a much-needed positive outing, as he came into the contest having posted an 11.57 ERA and 2.49 WHIP over his previous three starts.

Bello (5-5) took the loss against Miami on Thursday, allowing one run on two hits and one walk while striking out five batters over seven innings.

Bello pitched a gem, getting through seven innings without allowing a hit before yielding a pair of singles to begin the eighth. Those hits resulted in his exit, and one of the runners came around to score, which was enough to saddle Bello with the loss in a game during which Boston failed to score. Despite the disappointing end result, it was another promising outing for the emerging hurler, who has allowed just one run in each of his past three appearances and has compiled five consecutive quality starts. During the latter stretch, he's registered a 2.14 ERA and 26:8 K:BB over 33.2 frames.

France (3-3) allowed four hits and two walks while striking out two over seven shutout innings to earn the win Thursday over the Cardinals.

France turned in his fifth straight quality start, and this was his first scoreless outing since his debut May 6 versus the Mariners. The right-hander has emerged as a solid mid-rotation option for the Astros over his 10 starts -- he's allowed four or more runs just twice while pitching to a 3.13 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 44:20 K:BB through 60.1 innings. The lack of strikeouts reduces his fantasy appeal, and he's also given up nine home runs, so there's been some luck his ratios aren't worse. France is projected for a home start versus the Rockies next week.

Sandoval (4-7) took the loss Thursday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings against the White Sox. He struck out eight.

Most of the damage against Sandoval came in the third inning, when he allowed six runs on six hits. The 26-year-old left-hander has struggled lately, pitching to a 7.46 ERA through five starts in June. Overall, Sandoval now sports a 4.69 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP and 65:32 K:BB in 15 starts (80.2 innings) this season. Sandoval will look to get back on track in his next outing, currently lined up for next week in San Diego.

Lynn (5-8) earned the win Thursday, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks over six innings against the Angels. He struck out seven.

It was a rough start for Lynn, as he allowed five runs on three homers in his first three innings. However, he managed to settle in and hold Anaheim scoreless over his final three frames as the White Sox rallied for a 9-7 win. The victory is Lynn's first since May 26, as he's struggled to a 7.79 ERA over his last six outings. Overall, the veteran right-hander sports a 6.47 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP and 116:26 K:BB through 17 starts (96 innings) this season. Lynn is lined up to face the Blue Jays at home in his next outing.

Chirinos (4-3) earned the win in Thursday's 6-1 victory over the Diamondbacks. He allowed a run on seven hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings.

After Zack Littell opened the game with two scoreless innings, Chirinos delivered six strong frames out of the bullpen, allowing just one run on a Lourdes Gurriel homer. It was an encouraging effort from the 29-year-old Chirinos after he was tagged for eight runs in his last outing against the Royals. Chirinos lowered his ERA to 3.64 with a 1.20 WHIP and 27:19 K:BB through 54.1 innings this season.

Schmidt (3-6) earned the win Thursday, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks over 5.1 innings against the Athletics. He struck out three.

Schmidt hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his last eight starts. The win is just his second in that span, despite him pitching to a 2.55 ERA. After a tough start to the year, Schmidt's lowered his ERA to 4.37 with a 1.42 WHIP and 79:26 K:BB through 17 starts (82.1 innings). The 27-year-old right-hander currently lines up for a home matchup with the Orioles in his next outing.

Rodriguez (finger) allowed three hits and a walk while striking out four across 4.1 scoreless innings in Thursday's rehab outing with Triple-A Toledo, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez has been sidelined since May 30 but managed his first rehab outing and threw 58 pitches. He generated only four swinging strikes, though he also drew 12 called strikes. It's likely that Rodriguez will make one more start in the minors, though the team could activate him for his next turn through the rotation and monitor his pitch count closely in his first appearance.

X-rays turned up negative Thursday on Olson's left knee, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Olson limped off the field after getting struck by a comebacker in the second inning of his start Thursday afternoon against the Rangers. He told reporters after the game that he expects to take his next scheduled turn in the Tigers' rotation, but the 23-year-old right-hander will be closely evaluated over the next few days before any decisions are made. Detroit's pitching staff has been brutalized by injuries in recent weeks.

Marsh will be called up from Triple-A Omaha to start for the Royals on Friday versus the Dodgers, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

Jordan Lyles was supposed to take that turn, but he's been scratched because of an illness. Marsh, a second-round pick in the 2019 First-Year Player Draft out of Arizona State, has pitched to a rather uninspiring 4.62 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 75:31 K:BB in 62.1 innings (14 starts) this season between Double-A Northwest Arkansas and Omaha. He's not a recommended fantasy streamer against Los Angeles.
