France did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing four runs on nine hits over 4.1 innings against the Angels. He struck out two and did not walk a batter.

France had one of the more mediocre starts of his young career, failing to complete five innings for the first time since May 17. However, this could simply be a minor bump in the road for the right-hander as he's generally been good this year (3.31 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). France's next start is tentatively slated for next Thursday against the A's.

Civale allowed two runs on five hits and a walk over five innings in Friday's loss to Texas. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.

Civale worked through three scoreless frames before coughing up two runs in the fourth inning. He's given up two or fewer runs in eight of his 10 outings this season. The 28-year-old righty is sporting a 2.65 ERA with a 46:17 K:BB through 57.2 innings. Civale's next outing is lined up for next week in Pittsburgh.

Gray allowed four runs on five hits and three walks over six innings in Friday's win over Cleveland. He struck out four and did not factor in the decision.

All the damage against Gray came in the third frame when he served up a pair of two-run homers. He's yielded 19 runs over his last five starts, driving his ERA from 2.32 to 3.45 in the process. Since his 12-strikeout, zero-walk performance June 7, Gray has posted a lackluster 16:13 K:BB over his last five starts. His next outing is lined up to come at home against the Rays next week.

Rodon (0-2) allowed four runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six over five innings Friday, taking the loss versus the Rockies.

Rodon gave up three runs in the second inning and a Randal Grichuk solo home run in the fourth. The positive takeaway from this outing was Rodon getting stretched out to 88 pitches (51 strikes), up from 69 pitches in his season debut a week ago. The veteran southpaw should be just about clear of any workload restrictions given his pitch count Friday, but he'll need to get some better run support, as his team scored just two runs Friday. He's got an 8:4 K:BB with a 1.16 WHIP through 10.1 innings through two starts this season. Rodon's projected for a road start versus the Angels in his next outing.

Bello (7-5) yielded three runs on eight hits over six innings Friday, striking out five without walking a batter and earning a win over the Cubs.

Bello gave up one run through three innings before Cody Bellinger knocked a pair of solo homers against him. Since allowing five runs in his season debut April 17, Bello has yielded three or fewer runs in 14 consecutive starts. He's posted an 18:2 K:BB over his last four outings, improving to a 75:22 K:BB through 86 innings. Bello will carry a 3.14 ERA into his next start, which is lined up to come in Oakland next week.

Marsh is scheduled to start the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with the Rays after Friday's series opener was postponed due to severe weather in Kansas City, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

Though Marsh wasn't able to take the hill Friday with rain descending on Kauffman Stadium, he'll still end up starting the Royals' first game out of the All-Star break as originally planned. The rookie has turned in a 7.00 ERA, 1.78 WHIP and 10:7 K:BB in nine innings through his first two big-league starts and may need to show improvement Saturday to earn additional turns through the Kansas City rotation.

McClanahan (back) is slated to return from the 15-day injured list to start Monday's game against the Rangers at Globe Life Field, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

After landing on the IL on July 1 with mid-back tightness, McClanahan initially appeared poised to return when first eligible to start Sunday's series finale in Kansas City, but a rainout Friday nixed those plans. With a doubleheader Saturday creating a stretch of six games in five days, the Rays will call up Cooper Criswell from Triple-A Durham to take the hill for the second game of the twin bill and serve as a temporary sixth starter. As a result, McClanahan and all the other Rays' starting pitchers will be pushed back a day in the schedule. The southpaw will miss out on a more favorable matchup versus the 26-65 Royals and will instead make his return on the road against one of the majors' top offenses. On a positive note for fantasy managers, McClanahan will at least line up for two starts next week, with his second turn expected to come next weekend at home versus Baltimore.

Kopech (3-8) allowed four runs on a hit and four walks in only two-thirds of an inning while taking a loss against Atlanta on Friday.

Kopech was activated from the injured list to make his first start since June 27 and immediately ran into trouble. He loaded the bases with no outs before serving up a grand slam to Matt Olson. Kopech has compiled a brutal 12:20 K:BB through 13 innings over his last four starts. He saw his season ERA climb to 4.47 with a league-leading 53 walks. Assuming his shoulder wasn't an issue Friday, Kopech is currently lined up for a road matchup with the Mets next week.

Turnbull (neck) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Saturday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

On the heels of another successful bullpen session Wednesday, Turnbull will advance to facing live hitters. He would appear to be closing in on a rehab assignment after needing a 60-day IL stint because of a neck issue, following a lost 2022 due to Tommy John surgery. Turnbull has struggled to a 7.26 ERA this season, but he's shown that he can be effective when healthy and the Tigers will presumably give him another chance to prove himself in the starting rotation.

Gilbert isn't projected to make a start this weekend against the Tigers, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Luis Castillo and George Kirby are confirmed for the first two games coming out of the All-Star break, and manager Scott Servais said the team will "likely" go with Bryce Miller (blister) on Sunday. In that case, Gilbert would be pushed back to make his first start of the second half Monday, at home against the Twins, followed by a second home start next weekend against the Blue Jays. Gilbert has posted a 3.05 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 33:8 K:BB over his last seven starts (44.1 innings).
