Manager Kevin Cash expects McClanahan to make "very close to a normal start" Monday night against the Rangers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

McClanahan hasn't fired more than 66 pitches in a game in over a month, but Cash feels the southpaw is healthy and ready to handle a normal start, if efficient. McClanahan's last start took place June 30 against the Mariners before landing on the 15-day injured list with mid-back tightness.

Greinke (shoulder) threw a bullpen session recently and is tracking toward a return from the 15-day injured list to start Thursday versus the Tigers, Jaylon T. Thompson of The Kansas City Star reports.

Thursday is the first day he's eligible to return after he landed on the IL earlier this month with right shoulder tendinitis. Greinke has posted an ugly 5.44 ERA over 18 starts for Kansas City this season.

McClanahan (back) was activated from the 15-day injured list Monday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

McClanahan will rejoin the Rays' rotation on Monday in a road start versus the Rangers. The left-hander has missed all of July with a nagging back issue but is ready to go now after skipping a rehab assignment. McClanahan hasn't thrown more than 66 pitches in a start in a month, so he probably won't be ready for a full workload Monday.

The Rays designated Chirinos for assignment Monday, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Tampa Bay had been treating Chirinos as its de facto No. 5 starter heading into the All-Star break, but the right-hander was summoned in long relief of starter Zach Eflin during Sunday's 8-4 loss to the Royals and proceeded to give up three earned runs on four hits -- including three home runs -- in 4.2 innings. Due to his 50-pitch workload, Chirinos wasn't likely to be available for at least a few games, and his lack of freshness and poor peripherals on the season (5.31 SIERA, 4.2 K-BB%) provided enough reason for Tampa Bay to remove him from its 40-man roster. The Rays reinstated lefty Shane McClanahan (back) from the 15-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Perales was promoted from Single-A Salem to High-A Greenville on July 14.

Perales, a 20-year-old righty, notched a 2.09 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 57 strikeouts in 38.2 innings over his last eight starts at Single-A. He has a monster fastball that sits in the upper-90s and an improving slider.

Rodriguez was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Rodriguez will make his long-awaited return to the Orioles rotation Monday against the Dodgers at Camden Yards. The right-hander gets a tough matchup in his return to the big leagues, and things won't get any easier later this week, when he's expected to receive another turn through the rotation on the road against the first-place Rays. Nonetheless, Rodriguez's upside warrants a roster spot in fantasy leagues even if managers don't intend to use him right away. The young right-hander posted a 1.69 ERA in 37.1 innings at Norfolk after being optioned in late May.

Kikuchi did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits and three walks over 4.2 innings against the Diamondbacks. He struck out four.

Though Kikuchi only allowed two hits, he continuously put himself in difficult situations, walking three batters and hitting two others during 4.1 innings of work. The first run against Kikuchi came on an errant pickoff attempt that allowed Lourdes Gurriel to score in the first frame, while the second run came on a wild pitch that plated Nick Ahmed in the third. Kikuchi's lack of control was uncharacteristic, as he hadn't walked more than two batters in six straight appearances and had only hit one batter leading up to Sunday's outing. Kikuchi will look to regain his command in his next projected start, which is lined up to come against the Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

Cole allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out 11 over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rockies on Sunday.

Cole was dominant, limiting the damage to a solo shot by Michael Toglia in the second inning. The same couldn't be said for the Yankees' bullpen, which let two leads slip away in the 8-7 extra-innings loss. Cole has earned quality starts in all but one of his eight starts since the beginning of June. The All-Star has a 2.78 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 134:35 K:BB through 123 innings over 20 starts this season. He's projected for a favorable home start versus the Royals in his next outing.

Anderson did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over three innings against Houston. He struck out five.

Anderson needed 85 pitches to get through just three frames in the inefficient outing. On the bright side, he forced 15 whiffs, and he's hit that mark in four of his last six outings. The 33-year-old still owns a disappointing 5.17 ERA with a 73:39 K:BB through 87 innings. Anderson's next outing is projected to be at home against the Pirates.

Bibee allowed two runs on five hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings in a no-decision Sunday versus the Rangers.

Bibee effectively quieted a dangerous lineup despite giving up a solo home run to Marcus Semien to lead off the bottom of the first inning. Prior to Sunday, Bibee had walked multiple batters in each of his last six outings, though he'd also given up more than three runs just once in that span. The rookie right-hander has maintained a solid 3.32 ERA despite a lackluster 1.26 WHIP and 77:28 K:BB over 76 innings through 14 starts. With Shane Bieber (elbow) and Cal Quantrill (shoulder) both on the injured list, Bibee should enjoy continued security in the rotation. He's tentatively lined up for a home start versus the Phillies over the weekend.
