Ryan (9-6) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Friday, striking out 10 and earning a win against the White Sox.

Ryan allowed two runs through five frames before Yasmani Grandal knocked a two-run shot in the sixth inning. After posting a 2.90 ERA through 13 starts, Ryan's ERA over his last seven outings is 5.75, raising his season mark to 3.88 across 118.1 innings. Friday's win was his first since he shut out the Red Sox on June 22. Ryan is currently projected to face the Mariners at home next week.

Lynn (6-9) yielded nine runs (six earned) on eight hits and three walks over 6.2 innings Friday, striking out six and taking a loss against the Twins.

Lynn was taken deep four times, including twice during Minnesota's five-run opening frame. He's allowed 16 home runs over his last nine starts while raising his season ERA to 6.18. Lynn has now been charged with at least four runs in 12 of his 20 starts this year. The veteran righty has been the subject of trade rumors, but he hasn't been of much use to fantasy managers outside of the occasional dominant performance. Lynn's next start is currently lined up to be at home against the Guardians.

Kikuchi allowed five hits and a walk while striking out eight over 5.1 scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Mariners on Friday.

Kikuchi pitched into the sixth inning for the first time in four July starts, and he delivered his third scoreless effort of the season. While he's had some struggles this year, the Blue Jays' bullpen was responsible for this loss. Kikuchi is now at a reasonable 3.92 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 108:31 K:BB over 103.1 innings through 20 starts. He's projected for a home start versus the Angels his next time out, though Kikuchi could be bumped up to a take a road start versus the Dodgers if Hyun Jin Ryu (elbow) needs one more rehab start.

Miller allowed a run on three hits and two walks while striking out six over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays on Friday.

Miller limited the damage to Danny Jansen's fifth-inning solo home run. Since returning from a finger blister, Miller has allowed just one run, eight hits and three walks over 10.1 innings across his two starts. The right-hander owns a 3.50 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 64:15 K:BB through 69.1 innings over 13 starts this season. He's lined up for a road start in Minnesota next week.

Sears (1-7) took the loss Friday versus the Astros, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out just one over 5.2 innings.

All of the damage came on a trio of home runs -- two from Kyle Tucker and the other from Alex Bregman. This was the second start in a row that Sears has allowed multiple homers, and he's now yielded 24 long balls through 20 starts this season. The southpaw is at a 4.19 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 101:24 K:BB through 111.2 innings. His struggles with keeping the ball in the yard make him a high-risk fantasy play, though he's been able to limit the damage by not giving up too many baserunners. That's little comfort heading into his next start, which is projected to come at Coors Field.

Valdez (8-6) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over five innings to earn the win Friday over the Athletics.

Valdez suffered a cramp in his left calf in his last start, but it appears his exit this time was due to a high pitch count. He needed 96 pitches (59 strikes) to complete five frames, but he got enough run support to escape with the win. Valdez has allowed at least four runs in three of his last four starts -- a concerning trend, but not one that's negatively impacted his numbers too much. The southpaw still has a 2.94 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 133:30 K:BB through 122.1 innings over 19 starts. Valdez is projected for a tough home start versus the Rangers next week.

Heaney allowed four runs on five hits and three walks over five innings in Friday's loss to the Dodgers. He struck out three and did not factor in the decision.

Most of the damage against Heaney came during the Dodgers' three-run third inning. He's given up at least four runs in three of his last five outings but tossed 10.1 shutout frames in his other two starts during that span. His season ERA has risen to 4.58 with a 100:40 K:BB through 96.1 frames. Heaney's next outing is lined up to come in Houston next week.

Marsh (0-4) yielded five earned runs on five hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Friday in a loss to the Yankees. He struck out three.

Marsh surrendered homers to Franchy Cordero, Billy McKinney and Gleyber Torres while taking his fourth loss in four major-league starts. He posted excellent numbers at Triple-A and racked up 11 strikeouts last week against the Rays, but the 25-year-old right-hander holds a 6.20 ERA with Kansas City and is far too risky of a fantasy play in most formats. He is scheduled to pitch at Cleveland next.

Schmidt (6-6) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk over 5.2 innings Friday in the Yankees' win over the Royals. He struck out two.

Schmidt got himself into trouble in what became a three-run fourth inning for Kansas City, but he bounced back and stuck around long enough to quality for the win. Working as a locked-in member of the Yankees' major-league rotation for the first time in his career, the 27-year-old holds a 4.33 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 97:28 K:BB through 99.2 frames this season. He lines up to face the division-rival Orioles in Baltimore next time out.

Ryu (elbow) allowed two earned runs over six innings for Triple-A Buffalo in his fourth rehab start Friday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Ryu yielded only three hits and one walk while recording five strikeouts in the 85-pitch outing. He averaged 88.4 mph with his fastball but touched 90.8 mph at one point. Now more than 13 months removed from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery, the veteran left-hander could join the Blue Jays' starting rotation as early as next week.
