Elvin Rodriguez RP | ARI
Orioles' Elvin Rodriguez: Kicked off 40-man
The Orioles designated Rodriguez for assignment Tuesday.
The Orioles needed to create roster space with Jorge Mateo (hamstring) and Tyler Wells (elbow) returning from the 60-day injured list, so Rodriguez will be jettisoned from the 40-man alongside Corbin Martin. Rodriguez has posted an unsightly 9.15 ERA and 1.68 WHIP over 19.2 innings between Milwaukee and Baltimore this season, making it unlikely that another team targets him on waivers.

Robinson Pina RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Robinson Pina: Recalled, placed on 60-day IL
The Blue Jays recalled Pina from Triple-A Buffalo and placed him on the 60-day injured list Tuesday with a right elbow UCL sprain.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Ryan Borucki. Pina hasn't pitched since the beginning of August and will not return this season, although at this point it appears he will not have surgery.

Ryan Borucki RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Ryan Borucki: Added to roster
The Blue Jays selected Borucki's contract from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
Borucki made one scoreless appearance with Buffalo after inking a minor-league contract last week and will now join the big-league roster. The lefty reliever posted a 5.28 ERA and 27:12 K:BB over 30.2 innings with the Pirates earlier this season.

Joey Cantillo RP | CLE
Guardians' Joey Cantillo: Expected to start Wednesday
Cantillo has joined the Guardians in Boston and is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Columbus to start Wednesday's game versus the Red Sox, Paul Hoynes of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Logan Allen had been lined up to start Wednesday, but it's not clear whether he'll be pushed back in the schedule or moved to the bullpen. Cantillo posted a 6.52 ERA and 12:4 K:BB over 9.2 innings in his two starts with Columbus after being demoted last month. He's collected a 3.93 ERA and 80:36 K:BB over 66.1 frames covering eight starts and 21 relief appearances in the majors this season.

Sam Moll RP | CIN
Reds' Sam Moll: Optioned to Triple-A
The Reds optioned Moll to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
The Reds have a bullpen game Tuesday against the Blue Jays and needed a reliever who can provide more length than Moll, who has covered just 18.1 frames in his 23 appearances this season. Reiver Sanmartin is taking Moll's spot on the roster.

Reiver Sanmartin RP | CIN
Reds' Reiver Sanmartin: Contract selected
The Reds selected Sanmartin's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
Sanmartin hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023 but has had a nice season at Louisville, collecting a 2.79 ERA and 44:17 K:BB over 58 innings. He could be asked to eat multiple innings during a bullpen game Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.
-
Scott Barlow RP | CIN
Reds' Scott Barlow: Serving as opener Tuesday
Barlow will serve as the Reds' opening pitcher in Tuesday's contest versus the Blue Jays, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Nick Lodolo was scheduled to start but was scratched due to an illness, so the Reds will go with an impromptu bullpen game Tuesday. Barlow will likely pitch an inning or two before being followed by a slew of relievers.

Cameron Booser RP | CHW
White Sox's Cam Booser: Sent to Triple-A
The White Sox optioned Booser to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
The left-hander was called up by Chicago last week and will return to Charlotte after giving up two runs in two innings over three appearances. Booser has an underwhelming 4.82 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and 33:18 K:BB over 28 frames in the majors this year.

Bryan Hudson RP | CHW
White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Rejoins big club
The White Sox recalled Hudson from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
The left-hander was up with Chicago for a couple days in early August after being claimed off waivers and will now receive another look in the majors. Hudson has made 15 appearances between the Brewers and White Sox this year and has a 5.14 ERA, 1.93 WHIP and 17:13 K:BB over 14 innings.
