The Royals selected Clarke's contract from Triple-A Omaha on Thursday.

Clarke last pitched in the majors in 2023 with the Royals, posting a 5.95 ERA and 65:24 K:BB over 59 frames that season. The 31-year-old allowed nine runs (seven earned) with a 9:5 K:BB across 14.1 innings this season with Omaha.

Hoffman (3-0) struck out three over two perfect innings of relief Wednesday to pick up the win in an extra-inning victory over the Red Sox.

After shutting down Boston in the ninth inning, Hoffman stayed on the mound for the 10th and was rewarded when the Blue Jays walked it off in the bottom of the frame. The 32-year-old right-hander has been needed more than one inning in three of his last seven appearances, racking up three wins and three saves during that span with a 0.90 ERA, 0.50 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB over 10 innings. Hoffman hadn't worked since Sunday, so he was well rested, but after tossing 27 pitches Wednesday he likely won't be available should a save situation arise Thursday in the series finale against the Red Sox.

Kimbrel is still building up his velocity at Triple-A Gwinnett, and there's no timeline for him to be added to Atlanta's 26-man roster, Gabriel Burns of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Atlanta's bullpen needs help behind closer Raisel Iglesias, but it's not clear when Kimbrel might be able to bolster the team's relief corps. The 36-year-old has thrown 7.1 innings over seven appearances between Gwinnett and Double-A Columbus, posting a 2.45 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB, but his fastball velocity has mainly been sitting in the low 90s, a step back even from the 93.9 mph he averaged in 2024. "I learned last year when it comes to velocity, the velocity itself doesn't really matter as much as how I use my pitches, masking my pitches," Kimbrel said Wednesday. "I don't throw 100 mph anymore, so I can't just go out there and try to throw it by everybody. So it's taking the mindset of a pitcher and using my pitches to get guys out." Kimbrel sits fifth on MLB's all-time save list with 440, with the first 186 coming in an Atlanta uniform, but he's unlikely to add much to that total in his second stint with the team.

Bivens allowed one earned run on three hits while striking out one over 1.2 innings during Wednesday's 5-3 loss to the Padres.

The right-hander replaced Landen Roupp in the fifth inning, inheriting a bases-loaded jam with one out. Bivens managed to get through the fifth without surrendering an earned run, though he eventually gave one up in the sixth on an RBI triple by Luis Arraez, the first he'd allowed since March 31. The 30-year-old now owns a 2.63 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and an 11:6 K:BB across 13.2 innings over nine appearances.

The Mets selected Cabrera's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Cabrera's performance at Syracuse has been a mixed bag this season, as he's allowed seven runs and walked five but has also struck out 12 over eight innings. He will provide manager Carlos Mendoza with another lefty in the bullpen after the team recently lost Danny Young (elbow) and A.J. Minter (lat) to injuries.

The Mets selected Adcock's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Adcock was off to a nice start with Syracuse, yielding just one run with a 6:1 K:BB over seven innings. He will be used in middle relief with the Mets.

The Mets optioned Waddell to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Waddell impressed in a bulk-relief role in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Diamondbacks, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings. However, he was not going to be available for a few days, so the Mets will replace him on the 26-man active roster with a fresh bullpen arm in right-hander Ty Adcock, who was called up from Syracuse.

The Mets optioned Devenski to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday.

Devenski was with the big club for one day, yielding two runs over two innings in his lone appearance. The Mets have added a couple bullpen reinforcements in Genesis Cabrera and Ty Adcock.

The Reds recalled Mey from Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Mey has posted a 4.00 ERA and 10:7 K:BB across nine frames this season with Louisville. The hard-throwing right-hander will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

The Reds optioned Diaz to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday.

Diaz was roughed up for five runs while recording just three outs in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals. He had allowed eight runs with a 3:5 K:BB across six frames in his six appearances since coming off the injured list April 15. Diaz will look to get back on track at Louisville, and Emilio Pagan will continue to serve as the Reds' primary closer.
