  • Christian Roa RP | MIA

Marlins' Christian Roa: Sent back to minors

The Marlins optioned Roa to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Roa was with the big club for just a couple days, tossing two scoreless innings in his lone appearance. He's clearing out to make room on the active roster for Janson Junk (elbow), who is back from the 15-day injured list to start Monday's game versus the Nationals.

  • Cubs' Daniel Palencia: Sent to IL with shoulder strain

The Cubs placed Palencia on the 15-day injured list Monday due to a right shoulder strain, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The Chicago closer will hit the shelf after he experienced tightness in his shoulder during his relief appearance against the Nationals on Sunday, when he was dealt the loss and his third blown save of the season after failing to retire any of the five batters he faced while giving up four hits -- including two home runs -- and one walk. The Cubs haven't yet offered up a timeline for Palencia's return, but as a pitcher who's heavily reliant on high velocity and now coming back from an arm injury, he seems likely to be sidelined beyond the minimum 15 days. Manager Craig Counsell hasn't provided word on his plans for the ninth inning while Palencia is on the shelf, but Brad Keller, Andrew Kittredge and Caleb Thielbar have been pitching effectively in high-leverage spots of late and could be the Chicago relievers most likely to factor into the mix for saves over the next few weeks.

  • Andre Granillo RP | STL

Cardinals' Andre Granillo: Headed back to Triple-A

The Cardinals optioned Granillo to Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

Granillo has been an up-and-down performer during his big-league opportunities this season, collecting a 4.71 ERA and 18:7 K:BB over 21 innings. Nick Raquet was called up from Triple-A to take over Granillo's spot in the St. Louis bullpen.

  • Nick Raquet RP | STL

    Cardinals' Nick Raquet: Call-up official

The Cardinals selected Raquet's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

The 29-year-old southpaw reliever earned a promotion after posting a 1.68 ERA and 57:9 K:BB over 48.1 innings between Double-A Springfield and Memphis this season. Raquet will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.

  • Daniel Robert RP | PHI

Phillies' Daniel Robert: Shifted to 60-day injured list

The Phillies transferred Robert (forearm) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Monday.

The transaction frees a spot on the 40-man roster for utility man Donovan Walton, who was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. Robert is now officially done for the season after sustaining a right forearm strain earlier this month.

  • Craig Yoho RP | MIL

Brewers' Craig Yoho: Sent down to Nashville

The Brewers optioned Yoho to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Yoho struck out a pair in a scoreless frame during Sunday's win over the Pirates in what was his lone appearance during his most recent stint in the majors. Grant Anderson (ankle) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list to replace Yoho on the active roster.

  • Grant Anderson RP | MIL

Brewers' Grant Anderson: Makes return from IL

The Brewers reinstated Anderson (ankle) from the 15-day injured list Monday.

Right-hander Craig Yoho was optioned to Triple-A Nashville to clear a spot on the active roster and in the bullpen for Anderson, who spent the minimum amount of time on the shelf while recovering from right ankle tendinitis. The 28-year-old compiled a 2.87 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 66:27 K:BB in 62.2 innings with Milwaukee prior to landing on the IL and is likely to see most of his usage in middle relief.

  • Dane Dunning RP | ATL

Braves' Dane Dunning: Rejoins big-league bullpen

Atlanta recalled Dunning from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Atlanta's bullpen saw heavy use over the previous two days, so Dunning will join the big club to provide a fresh relief arm. He's allowed 13 runs over 17.1 innings covering 10 appearances in the majors between Texas and Atlanta in 2025.

  • Hayden Harris RP | ATL

Braves' Hayden Harris: Demoted to minors

Atlanta optioned Harris to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Harris pitched each of the previous two days and allowed one runs over 2.2 innings covering three appearances during his brief time with the big club. Atlanta will replace him with a much-needed fresh bullpen arm in Dane Dunning, who was called up from Triple-A.

  • DL Hall RP | MIL

Brewers' DL Hall: Cleared for plyometric work

The Brewers announced Wednesday that Hall (oblique) was cleared to begin plyometric work, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Though Hall isn't shut down from activities, he's yet to start up a throwing progression since landing on the injured list Aug. 16 with what he classified as a "Grade 1ish, Grade 2ish" right oblique strain. If he responds well to plyometric work, Hall could be cleared to start throwing in the near future, which would put him on track for a late-September return from the IL.
