Spencer Bivens RP | SF
Giants' Spencer Bivens: Picks up loss Tuesday
Bivens (1-2) was tagged with the loss in Tuesday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the Padres, allowing one unearned run on two hits over one inning. He did not record a strikeout.
Bivens threw 13 of his 15 pitches for strikes but surrendered two singles, and the automatic runner came around to score in the 10th. The right-hander has been charged with three runs (two earned) over his last five appearances, during which he has posted a 2.08 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and three strikeouts over 8.2 innings. Overall, the 30-year-old owns a 3.10 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and an 18:8 K:BB across 29 innings in 18 appearances.

Jared Shuster RP | STL
White Sox's Jared Shuster: Serving as opener Wednesday
Shuster will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Kyle Williams of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Shuster will draw an opener assignment for the second time in less than a week, after he tossed a scoreless inning last Friday against Baltimore. The southpaw has maxed out at three innings over his 17 appearances between the White Sox and Triple-A Charlotte this season, so he could be called upon to give Chicago a little more length in his second turn as an opener. The White Sox haven't announced their plans for once Shuster exits the contest, but righty Mike Vasil could be a candidate to work as a bulk reliever.

Bryse Wilson RP | PHI
White Sox's Bryse Wilson: Working out of bullpen again
Wilson surrendered eight earned runs on 12 hits and one walk while striking out two over five innings of relief in Monday's 13-1 loss to the Tigers.
Since being called upon to make his fifth start of the season May 24 against the Rangers, Wilson has shifted back to the bullpen with Adrian Houser having taken control of the final spot in the rotation. After his most recent start, Wilson faced three batters in relief in last Wednesday's win over the Mets before he was tasked with mopping up Monday's blowout loss after starter Jonathan Cannon was tagged for five earned runs over three innings. Cannon was placed on the injured list a day later due to a back injury, but the White Sox aren't expected to immediately turn back to Wilson to fill the vacancy in the rotation. Instead, the White Sox will opt for a bullpen day in Wednesday's game against the Tigers, with lefty Jared Shuster likely to cover anywhere between 1-to-3 innings before being followed by a slew of relievers.

Connor Brogdon RP | CLE
Angels' Connor Brogdon: Fans two in perfect relief outing
Brogdon struck out two batters in one perfect inning of relief against the Red Sox on Tuesday.
The contest was tight throughout, and Brogdon helped preserve a 3-3 tie when he breezed through a 1-2-3 frame in the seventh. The right-hander was blown up for four runs over two-thirds of an inning in his third appearance of the campaign May 11, but he hasn't given up an earned run in any of his seven appearances since. During that span, Brogdon has posted a 6:1 K:BB and allowed just three hits across 6.2 frames, though he hasn't seen much high-leverage work and doesn't yet have any holds or save chances.

Chase Silseth RP | LAA
Angels' Chase Silseth: Shelved at Triple-A
Triple-A Salt Lake placed Silseth on its 7-day injured list May 20 due to an unspecified injury.
Silseth hadn't pitched since May 3 before Salt Lake placed him on the IL just over two weeks later. The 25-year-old righty maintains a spot on the Angels' 40-man roster but has spent all season in the minors after falling short in his bid for a spot in the big club's rotation during spring training. Prior to getting hurt, Silseth had logged a 4.45 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 29:22 K:BB in 28.1 innings over his seven starts at Triple-A.

Pete Fairbanks RP | MIA
Rays' Pete Fairbanks: Scoreless appearance
Fairbanks threw a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a baserunner Tuesday against the Rangers.
The Rays were up by four runs, so it was not a save chance for Fairbanks. However, he hadn't appeared in a game since May 24, so the appearance was good for some needed work. Fairbanks has turned in six consecutive scoreless appearances while racking up a 6:3 K:BB in that span.

Hunter Bigge RP | TB
Rays' Hunter Bigge: Asymptomatic, but not throwing
Bigge (lat) is no longer feeling soreness but remains shut down from throwing, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Bigge had a setback with his right lat strain two weeks ago, so the Rays are taking things more slowly this time around. The right-handed reliever should be cleared to throw before long and will eventually need a rehab assignment. Bigge has been sidelined since early May.

Seth Halvorsen P | COL
Rockies' Seth Halvorsen: Picks up third save
Halvorsen didn't allow a baserunner and earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Marlins.
Zach Agnos (personal) had recorded two consecutive saves for the Rockies but is currently on the bereavement list. That set Halvorsen up for the save chance Tuesday, and he delivered his third save of the season. After a slow start to the year, Halvorsen has turned in five scoreless efforts in his last six appearances.

Garrett McDaniels RP | LAD
Angels' Garrett McDaniels: On rehab assignment
McDaniels (biceps) was sent to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday to continue his rehab assignment.
McDaniels made three appearances in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, allowing two runs (one earned) with a 7:3 K:BB over 4.1 frames. The lefty reliever has been out for more than a month with biceps tendinitis, but his activation from the 15-day injured list should come soon.

T.J. McFarland RP | ATH
Athletics' T.J. McFarland: Begins rehab assignment
McFarland (groin) began a rehab assignment with Single-A Stockton on Tuesday, allowing one run over one inning of work.
McFarland has been shelved for more than three weeks with a strained left groin but looks to be on the cusp of a return from the 15-day injured list. Because his absence has been brief, he may not require any additional minor-league appearances before coming off the IL. McFarland had not been scored upon in 12 of his last 13 appearances prior to getting shut down with the injury.
