  • Will Klein RP | LAD

Dodgers' Will Klein: Optioned to Triple-A

The Dodgers optioned Klein to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Klein pitched well during his brief time in the majors, tossing 3.2 scoreless frames with a 5:1 K:BB. However, he wasn't going to be available for a day or two after throwing two innings and 36 pitches Wednesday. Klein should get another chance later this season.

  • Luis Garcia RP | MIN

Dodgers' Luis Garcia: Back off IL

The Dodgers activated Garcia (adductor) from the 15-day injured list Thursday.

Garcia has been shelved since early June due to a right adductor strain, but he's ready to roll after making one scoreless rehab appearance. Will Klein was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

  • Mets' Jonathan Pintaro: Rough big-league debut

Pintaro gave up two runs on two hits and two walks over two-thirds of an inning in Wednesday's win over Atlanta. He struck out one.

Making his big-league debut, Pintaro entered in a low-leverage spot with the Mets ahead 7-1 and struggled to find the plate, tossing 16 of 29 pitches for strikes. Some nerves were to be expected from the 27-year-old righty, and New York will likely give him another chance or two to help bolster a fraying bullpen before churning his roster spot for a fresh arm.

  • Ryan Jensen RP | MIN

Twins' Ryan Jensen: Released by Minnesota

Jensen was released by the Twins on Thursday. He had a 6.59 ERA at Triple-A St. Paul in 28.2 innings.

Jensen did have a 12.4 K/9, so he could find work elsewhere. He hasn't been called up to the majors despite pitching at Triple-A the last three seasons.

  • Cubs' Michael Fulmer: Loses 40-man roster spot

The Cubs designated Fulmer for assignment Thursday.

Fulmer tossed three scoreless frames over two appearances during his brief time with the Cubs. The veteran right-hander elected free agency after being removed from Boston's 40-man roster earlier this season, and he's likely to become a free agent again if he passes through waivers.

  • Alex Lange RP | KC

Tigers' Alex Lange: Sharp in rehab appearance

Lange (lat) tossed a perfect inning of relief with two strikeouts to begin the next phase of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday.

Lange was shut down for the season last June after undergoing surgery on his right lat, and he's been on the 60-day injured list since the offseason, so the Tigers will likely proceed cautiously with his rehab program. He started his assignment by making two appearances for High-A West Michigan earlier this month and will now spend some time with the Mud Hens ramping up. The righty could eventually give Detroit another arm for its bullpen, though his struggles with control persisted in 2024, walking 17 batters in 18.2 major-league innings before eventually getting demoted to Triple-A and then getting injured. He's walked at least four batters per nine innings in each of his four MLB seasons and will need to improve in that area to stick with the Tigers.

  • Zak Kent SP | WAS

Guardians' Zak Kent: Added to bullpen

The Guardians recalled Kent from Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Kent has made three relief appearances with the big club this season, permitting three runs with a 6:3 K:BB over five frames. The right-hander will be used in middle relief.

  • Nic Enright RP | CLE

Guardians' Nic Enright: Heading back to minors

The Guardians optioned Enright to Triple-A Columbus on Thursday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Enright pitched in relief both of the previous two days, so he's being sent out in favor of a fresh bullpen arm. Right-hander Zak Kent was recalled from Triple-A to absorb Enright's spot on the 26-man active roster.

  • Matt Gage RP | SF

Tigers' Matt Gage: Removed from 40-man roster

The Tigers designated Gage for assignment Thursday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 26-man active roster and 40-man roster left-hander Dietrich Enns, who was called up from Triple-A Toledo to start Thursday's game versus the Athletics. Gage spun 5.2 scoreless innings over six relief appearances during his time with the Tigers, although that came with a 3:2 K:BB.

  • Austin Cox RP | ATL

Braves' Austin Cox: Sent to Gwinnett

Atlanta optioned Cox to Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday.

Right-hander Michael Petersen was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move and will provide Atlanta with a fresh arm in the bullpen for Thursday's series finale versus the Mets. After being called up from Gwinnett over the weekend, Cox made two appearances for Atlanta, covering three innings and allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out five.
