Dodgers' Noah Davis: Called up Sunday

The Dodgers recalled Davis from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The right-hander was optioned to Oklahoma City in early June after a one-day stint in the majors, but he'll rejoin the big club for Sunday's series finale in Kansas City. Across his three stints in the big leagues this season, Davis has given up three earned runs with a 5:2 K:BB over 4.2 innings.

Dodgers' Lou Trivino: Serving as opener Sunday

Trivino will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher for Sunday's game against the Royals.

Trivino is expected to cover the first inning or two before giving way to left-hander Justin Wrobleski, who will be available to pitch in bulk relief on four days' rest. The Dodgers previously called upon Trivino to serve as an opener against the Padres on June 10, when he tossed a scoreless inning.

  • Dennis Santana RP | PIT

Pirates' Dennis Santana: Begins serving three-game ban

Santana will begin serving a three-game suspension Sunday following a successful appeal that reduced his ban from four games, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Major League Baseball previously issued a four-game suspension and a fine to the right-hander June 20, one day after he was deemed to have engaged in "aggressive conduct toward a fan near the bullpen" during the Pirates' doubleheader with the Tigers. Santana remained available over the past nine days after appealing, but he'll now be out through Tuesday's game against the Cardinals. Santana has been one of the Pirates' top relievers this season, notching five saves, nine holds and two wins over 36 appearances while pitching to a 1.50 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 28:6 K:BB across 36 innings.

  • Paxton Schultz RP | WAS

Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Shelved with finger issue

The Blue Jays placed Schultz on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right middle finger inflammation.

Schultz's finger issue presumably cropped up during his appearance in the Blue Jays' 15-1 loss to the Red Sox on Saturday, when he retired just four of the 10 batters he faced while allowing three earned runs on five hits and one walk. The Blue Jays recalled Justin Bruihl from Triple-A Buffalo to join the bullpen as a replacement for Schultz, who won't be eligible to return until after the All-Star break.

The Blue Jays recalled Bruihl from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.

The 28-year-old lefty will join the Toronto bullpen as a replacement for Paxton Schultz, who was placed on the 15-day injured list due to finger inflammation. Bruihl has made two relief appearances for Toronto but has otherwise spent the bulk of the 2025 season at Buffalo, posting a 3.68 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 37:12 K:BB across 29.1 Triple-A innings.

Orioles' Kade Strowd: Sent back to Triple-A

The Orioles optioned Strowd to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

The Orioles selected Bowman's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

Baltimore cleared room for Bowman on the 40-man roster by designating Luis F. Castillo for assignment and on the 26-man roster by optioning Kade Strowd to Norfolk. Bowman will be up with the big club for the third time this season, after he accrued a 4.57 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB in 21.2 innings over 18 appearances in his prior two stints with Baltimore.

  • Mets' Richard Lovelady: Re-signs with Mets

The Mets signed Lovelady to a one-year, major-league contract Sunday.

The left-hander elected free agency Friday after being designated for assignment by New York, but he quickly re-signed with the organization. Lovelady gave up two runs over 1.2 innings during his lone appearance with the Mets and also surrendered four runs across 1.2 frames during a stint with the Blue Jays at the start of the season. The Mets designated left-hander Colin Poche for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster and 26-man active roster for Lovelady.
