Hicks earned the save, his first of the season, in Sunday's 6-4 win over the Nationals, allowing a run on a hit and a walk while striking out one in the ninth inning.

After Aroldis Chapman pitched the eighth inning, Hicks was called upon for the save in just his third appearance since joining Boston in the deal that sent Rafael Devers to San Francisco. The 28-year-old Hicks has been shaky in his brief tenure with his new team, allowing four runs (two earned) in 2.2 innings, though it appears that the Red Sox are committed to keeping him in a high-leverage role. Overall, Hicks sports a 6.49 ERA with a 1.58 WHIP and 45:22 K:BB across 51.1 innings this season.

The Diamondbacks placed Thompson on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to right scapular strain.

Thompson delivered a scoreless frame in his most recent relief appearance in Friday's 9-3 loss to the Royals, but he may have sustained the shoulder injury at some point along the way. The right-hander will be eligible for reinstatement shortly after the end of the All-Star break, but he's without an official timeline for a return.

The Diamondbacks recalled Jarvis from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.

The right-hander has spent the past few weeks with Reno but will rejoin the big club after Ryan Thompson (shoulder) was placed on the injured list. Jarvis has a 6.10 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB over 10.1 innings with Arizona this season.

The Royals placed Lynch on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to left elbow nerve irritation.

The injury may have played a part in Lynch's recent struggles; the lefty reliever has allowed four earned runs on 10 hits and four walks in 7.2 innings over his last seven appearances. Kansas City recalled right-hander Jonathan Bowlan from Triple-A Omaha to replace Lynch in the bullpen.

The Royals recalled Bowlan from Triple-A Omaha prior to Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks.

He'll join the bullpen as a replacement for southpaw Daniel Lynch (elbow), who was placed on the 15-day injured list. Over 12 appearances with the big club this season, Bowlan owns a 3.00 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 12:7 K:BB in 15 innings.

The Diamondbacks recalled Henry (elbow) from Triple-A Reno and placed him to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

According to Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, Arizona manager Torey Lovullo relayed Sunday that Henry recently underwent Tommy John surgery, which included both internal bracing and ligament repair. After injuring his elbow in mid-June, Henry went on Reno's IL, but the Diamondbacks needed to add him back to the big-league roster in order to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Henry will miss the rest of the season and will also be sidelined for at least the first half of the 2026 campaign.

The Dodgers optioned Little to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

The Dodgers sent Little back to the minors to clear room on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Emmet Sheehan, who was recalled from Oklahoma City to start Sunday against the Astros. Little has served as a middle-relief option over his two stints in the big leagues this season, making two appearances while giving up two earned runs over three innings.

The Tigers recalled Guenther from Triple-A Toledo and placed him on the 60-day injured list while he recovers from a left hip arthroscopy.

Guenther had resided on Toledo's 7-day IL since May 30, but he was cleared to begin a rehab assignment at High-A West Michigan about three weeks later. The southpaw reliever hadn't pitched for West Michigan since June 25, however, and an explanation behind his absence has now been provided by the Tigers. He'll be added to the Tigers' 60-day IL in what's essentially a procedural move, as Guenther is considered likely to miss the rest of the season, per Chris McCosky of The Detroit News. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for lefty PJ Poulin, whose contract was selected from Triple-A.

The Yankees optioned Sandridge to Triple-Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

The left-hander allowed two runs over two-thirds of an inning during his MLB debut Saturday against the Mets, and he'll now head back to the minors. Sandridge has a 0.87 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 19:5 K:BB in nine appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.

Hartlieb signed a major-league contract with the Yankees and was selected to the active roster Sunday.

The right-hander elected free agency after being designated for assignment by the Yankees a few days ago, and he's quickly back on the MLB roster. Hartlieb allowed three earned runs over one inning during his lone appearance with New York and should fill a low-leverage relief role.
