Braves' Joe Jimenez: Shut down after feeling soreness
Jimenez has been shut down from throwing after feeling soreness in his surgically repaired left knee, Grant McAuley of the Marietta Daily Journal reports.
Jimenez began throwing off a mound a little over a month ago and had appeared close to a rehab assignment, but now his timetable is up in the air. The reliever has been sidelined all season after undergoing surgery last November to repair damaged cartilage in his left knee.

White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Brought up to big leagues
The White Sox recalled Hudson from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
Hudson was claimed off waivers from the Brewers on Sunday and will join the big-league roster before making an appearance with Charlotte. The big lefty was a standout in the Milwaukee bullpen in 2024, but he has a 4.35 ERA and 13:12 K:BB over 10.1 innings in the majors and a 6.84 ERA at the Triple-A level in 2025.

Pirates' Cam Sanders: Contract selected
The Pirates selected Sanders' contract from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.
The right-hander will receive his first taste of the majors after making a mechanical adjustment in the minors earlier this season. Sanders has dominated at both the Double-A and Triple-A levels this season with a 1.91 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 51:20 K:BB across 42.1 innings.

White Sox's Owen White: Sent packing to minors
The White Sox Sox" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" data-league-abbreviation="MLB" data-team-abbreviation="CHW">White Sox optioned White to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.
He's clearing out to make room for Bryan Hudson, who will join the active roster after being claimed off waivers Sunday. White had been recalled over the weekend but did not make an appearance.

Cubs' Nate Pearson: Rejoins big club
The Cubs recalled Pearson from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Mike McGraw of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.
The right-hander has made just one appearance with the Cubs since late April, but he's back in the big leagues Tuesday with Michael Soroka (shoulder) heading to the injured list. Pearson has struggled in his nine big-league outings this year with a 12.66 ERA, 2.53 WHIP and 6:9 K:BB over 10.2 innings.

Twins' Darren McCaughan: DFA'd by Twins
Minnesota designated McCaughan for assignment Tuesday.
The right-hander joined the big club Monday but will lose his place on the 26-man and 40-man rosters just a day later. McCaughan made three appearances for the Twins early in the season and allowed one earned run with a 6:1 K:BB over 5.1 innings, but he's struggled to a 5.35 ERA in 17 outings (10 starts) with Triple-A St. Paul.

Twins' Brooks Kriske: Claimed by Minnesota
The Twins claimed Kriske off waivers Tuesday.
The right-hander was designated for assignment by the Cubs over the weekend, and the Twins claimed him in order to round out their bullpen coming out of the trade deadline. Kriske delivered six scoreless frames with a 4:5 K:BB with Chicago and has a 3.13 ERA at the Triple-A level this season.

Rockies' Anthony Molina: Recalled ahead of start
The Rockies recalled Molina from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.
Molina will start Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays in what will be his first start and sixth appearance at the big-league level in 2025. The right-hander has allowed seven runs with a 6:0 K:BB over 8.2 innings in his five relief outings. Molina could earn multiple turns in Colorado's rotation until Antonio Senzatela (finger) or German Marquez (biceps) returns.

Red Sox's Justin Slaten: Throws off mound
Slaten (shoulder) threw off a mound at Fenway Park on Tuesday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
Slaten looked to be throwing at full effort in his first time tossing from the bump since he landed on the injured list in early June due to right shoulder inflammation. The right-hander will surely require some rehab appearances before being activated from the 60-day injured list, and it's not clear when he might be ready for game action in the minors.

Astros' Steven Okert: Serving as opener Tuesday
Okert will serve as the Astros' opening pitcher in Tuesday's game versus the Marlins, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Okert will cover the first inning or two before handing things off to AJ Blubaugh, who is expected to be the bulk reliever. The left-handed Okert has had a dynamite season out of the Astros' bullpen, registering a 2.90 ERA and 59:11 K:BB over 49.2 frames.
