Scholtens allowed two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two across three innings during the Rays' 6-5 loss to the Orioles on Friday.

Steven Matz served as the Rays' opener Friday and recorded the first three outs before handing the keys to Scholtens. Scholtens proceeded to give up a run in both the second and third innings, the latter of which came on a Colton Cowser solo homer. It was Scholtens' first major-league appearance since May 25, after he spent two months on the injured list due to a right wrist strain before being optioned to Triple-A Durham in late July. It's unclear whether he'll stick around the majors past Friday's outing, given that Shane McClanahan (back) is nearing a return from the 15-day IL.

Sanders was credited with the save in Friday's 6-5 win over the Rays after recording the final out.

Yennier Cano was brought in for the ninth inning to secure the Orioles' 6-2 lead, but he proceeded to give up three runs before getting the hook. Sanders answered the call, with his first pitch of the frame resulting in a flyout by Ryan Vilade to end the game. The Orioles have gone with a closing committee in the absence of Ryan Helsley (elbow) and Felix Bautista (shoulder) -- Andrew Kittredge worked the seventh inning Friday, while Rico Garcia handled the eighth -- but Sanders isn't likely to join the mix. He's appeared in three games out of the bullpen since he was recalled from Triple-A Norkolk on Monday, giving up two runs in 3.2 innings with a 2:1 K:BB.

Pintaro (1-0) earned the win in relief Friday against the Nationals after allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two over two scoreless innings.

Pintaro entered the game in the sixth inning with New York trailing 1-0 and kept Washington off the board long enough for the offense to take the lead in the bottom half of the frame. The right-hander allowed two baserunners in the sixth but retired all three batters he faced in the seventh before departing. In the end, he needed 34 pitches to secure his first major-league victory. Pintaro has made eight appearances in relief for the Mets this season and owns a 4.15 ERA with a 18:8 K:BB across 17.1 innings.

Senga allowed one hit while striking out one over a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-1 win over the Nationals.

Senga recorded two quick outs before making things interesting. After allowing a single to Jacob Young and plunking CJ Abrams with a pitch, Senga fanned Abimelec Ortiz to earn his second save of the season. The right-hander has now recorded both of the Mets' saves since Devin Williams landed on the injured list Monday with a right shoulder strain, suggesting he'd the team's top ninth-inning option in the short term. That's a notable development after Senga went 0-8 with an 8.66 ERA over his first 13 appearances (eight starts) this season before losing his rotation spot. He has yet to allow a run and owns a 0.75 WHIP in four August relief outings.

Rodriguez allowed one hit and struck out two over a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Friday's 7-5 win over the Guardians.

Rodriguez was called upon to protect a two-run advantage and responded with the first save of his major-league career. The right-hander allowed a double to Brayan Rocchio but bounced back and closed out San Diego's victory with back-to-back strikeouts. Friday's save doesn't signal a change atop the bullpen hierarchy, as Mason Miller will remain the Padres' closer. Still, Rodriguez has worked his way into San Diego's late-inning mix and owns a 2.09 ERA across 50 appearances and 55 innings in 2026.

Fisher will serve as the Blue Jays' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Yankees, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Fisher has thrown nine consecutive scoreless innings since the beginning of August, and the Blue Jays will now trust him to start for the eighth time this season. He'll likely remain in the game for an inning or two before turning the ball over to the bullpen.

Sulser (back) faced hitters Friday, per MLB.com.

Sulser is slated for another session Monday and will then be sent out on a minor-league rehab assignment, provided all goes well. The right-hander is working his way back from lower-back spasms, which forced him to the injured list in late July, and he should be able to rejoin Tampa Bay's bullpen in late August.

Uceta (shoulder) is playing catch from 75 feet, per MLB.com.

Uceta continues to progress slowly from a right shoulder impingement and subsequent subscapularis strain. The right-hander's timeline for a return to the Rays remains murky at best, and he appears to be unlikely to be an option for Tampa Bay's bullpen until sometime in September with several hurdles still left to clear.

Varland collected his 27th save of the season in Friday's 3-1 win over the Yankees with a perfect ninth inning. He did not record a strikeout.

Friday's AL East clash was a low-scoring affair, and Varland needed only four pitches -- all strikes -- to secure the win for the Blue Jays. The 28-year-old right-hander has logged saves in each of his last three outings and is up to 27 on the year, tied with Aroldis Chapman and David Bednar for third most in the American League behind Bryan Baker (34) and Cade Smith (31). Varland has a 1.28 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over 63.1 innings this season.

Garcia earned the save in Friday's 2-0 win over Atlanta, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.

Garcia was called on to complete a team shutout and slammed the door on just 11 pitches. The 26-year-old has now recorded three of the club's past four saves, allowing just one earned run over seven appearances during that stretch. On the year, he owns four saves and 13 holds while posting a 2.06 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 39:7 K:BB across 35 innings and should remain the ninth-inning favorite for the surging Diamondbacks as long as he continues pitching at this level.
