Detroit optioned White to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.

White, 24, has posted a 5.09 ERA and 44:15 K:BB through his first 40.2 major-league innings this year. Sawyer Gipson-Long is up from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move to start Sunday's series finale against the White Sox.

Boston optioned Jacques to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Garrett Whitlock (personal) is being activated from the bereavement list in a corresponding roster move. Jacques, 28, has registered a 5.06 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 20:10 K:BB across his first 26.2 major-league innings this year.

Sewald picked up the save in Saturday's win over the Cubs, allowing one unearned run on one hit over one inning. He did not record any strikeouts or walks.

Sewald entered the game with a two-run lead in the bottom of the 10th and retired the first two batters before giving up an RBI single to Cody Bellinger to cut the lead to one run. The right-hander then got Dansby Swanson to foul out for the final out of the game, giving Sewald his fourth save this month. He's now converted 11 of his last 12 save opportunities, though he's failed to record a strikeout in three straight appearances.

The Yankees recalled Misiewicz from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

Misiewicz was claimed off waivers from the Tigers in early July and will get his first major-league opportunity with New York after posting a 3.91 ERA and 30:12 K:BB in 25.1 innings of work for their Triple-A affiliate.

The Yankees recalled Bowman from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.

Bowman is up in the majors for the first time since 2019 after pitching to a 3.86 ERA and 55:29 K:BB across 56 innings this summer at the Triple-A level. The 32-year-old right-hander figures to operate in a middle-relief role for New York.

Vines was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.

Vines was called up by Atlanta on Wednesday and will head back to the minors after he delivered three solid frames of long relief Saturday against Pittsburgh. The 25-year-old has pitched well in his three big-league appearances this season with a 3.27 ERA and 0.91 WHIP over 11 innings, so he could receive another look during the closing weeks of the season.

Weaver was designated for assignment by the Mariners on Sunday.

Weaver gave up four earned runs over 4.1 innings of bulk relief Saturday against the Rays and has now been pushed off the 40-man roster. The 30-year-old right-hander carries an ugly 6.77 ERA in 110.1 total major-league innings this season between Cincinnati and Seattle.

Seattle recalled Bazardo from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.

Bazardo returns as a fresh bullpen arm ahead of Sunday's series finale against the Rays. The 28-year-old right-hander has allowed five earned runs in 4.1 major-league innings this year between Baltimore and Seattle.

King did not factor into the decision Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk over five innings against the Brewers while striking out nine.

King looked sharp against the Brewers, striking out four of the first seven batters he faced to open the contest. Two runs came across for Milwaukee in the top of the fourth, though only one was charged to King following a throwing error by DJ LeMahieu. The right-hander has now gone five innings in back-to-back starts, allowing a total of two earned runs over that stretch while posting a 13:1 K:BB.

Finnegan gave up a run on a hit and two walks in the ninth inning Saturday to blow the save in an eventual 7-6 win for the Nationals. He struck out one.

Called upon to protect a 5-4 lead, Finnegan and batterymate Keibert Ruiz instead found themselves helpless to stop the Dodgers' running game. The three baserunners the right-hander put aboard swiped four bags between them, and it took a great defensive effort by Luis Garcia to escape the inning without further damage. Finnegan's had a rocky last few weeks, getting tagged for runs in six of his last 10 appearances, but while he's now blown eight of his 33 save chances on the season, this was his first since July 14. Hunter Harvey also coughed up two runs in the eighth, but he's been the more effective reliever of late and could reclaim his spot as the Nats' primary closer down the stretch.
