Smith allowed one walk and struck out one over a scoreless eighth inning in Tuesday's 9-3 loss to the Angels.

Smith, who normally works as setup reliever when the Rangers are leading, made a low-leverage appearance following a rough stretch. The left-hander was tagged for six runs on six hits and three walks over his previous three outings. It's unclear whether using Smith in a mop-up role was a way to give him a positive feeling about an outing or if it was because he hadn't thrown in five days. It may have been a little of both.

Moll (2-3) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two over two scoreless innings to earn the win over Cleveland on Tuesday.

Moll and others in the bullpen combined for six scoreless innings, giving the offense a chance to overcome a disastrous outing from starter Hunter Greene. Moll has not allowed a run over his last 19 appearances (18 innings) and sports a shiny 0.76 ERA across 23.2 innings since being acquired by the Reds at the trade deadline.

Bradford (4-3) allowed six runs on seven hits and struck out three without walking a batter over four innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Angels.

Bradford was initially expected to serve as an opener, but he ended up covering the most innings of the Rangers' four pitchers Tuesday. He struggled right out of the gate, allowing a three-run home run to Brandon Drury in the first inning. Bradford now has a 5.30 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 49:12 K:BB through 54.1 innings over 19 outings (eight starts) this season. He's given up 12 runs over his last seven innings, but he may be needed to make another appearance against the Mariners this weekend with the Rangers' rotation a bit thin.

Helsley picked up the save in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over the Brewers. He struck out three over a perfect inning.

Helsley was dominant while securing his 13th save of the season, a resurgent effort after he'd walked three batters and blown a save in his last appearance. In September, Helsley owns a 0.84 ERA and a 17:6 K:BB with six saves across 10.2 innings.

Wood allowed an unearned run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings versus the Padres on Tuesday. He did not factor in the decision.

The Giants were shut out, and John Brebbia took the loss as the opener after giving up a solo home run to Juan Soto in the first inning. Wood was better, though he still gave up an elevated number of baserunners. The veteran southpaw is now at a 4.33 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 74:42 K:BB through 97.2 innings over 29 appearances (12 starts) this year. Wood could get one more outing out of the bullpen this season, though he threw 83 pitches (54 strikes) in this appearance.

Brebbia (3-3) allowed one run on one hit and struck out two over 1.1 innings, taking the loss as the opener Tuesday versus the Padres.

Kyle Harrison (illness) was a late scratch, with Brebbia stepping into his familiar opener role on short notice. Brebbia gave up a solo home run to Juan Soto in the first inning, and that was enough to take the loss as the Giants' offense mustered just six baserunners in the game. The right-hander has faded late in the season, allowing five runs (four earned) over his last four appearances, taking a loss in three of those outings. He's at a 3.65 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 46:12 K:BB through 37 innings this season.

Hader struck out the only batter he faced to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Giants.

Seth Lugo ran out of gas in the ninth inning, exiting with 123 pitches. Hader entered with two on and two out and struck out Wilmer Flores to end the game. Hader has pitched 4.2 scoreless innings over his last six appearances while adding four saves and a win in that span. He's at 32 saves in 37 chances this season while posting an excellent 1.18 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 82:28 K:BB through 53.1 innings.

Holmes picked up the save in Tuesday's 2-0 victory over the Blue Jays. He allowed one hit and no walks with no strikeouts in a scoreless inning.

Holmes handled business in the ninth inning, locking down the team win on 19 pitches and recording his career-high 23rd save in the process. The 30-year-old righty has been superb over his last 12 appearances, posting an 0.75 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 11:5 K:BB over 12 innings. Holmes has pitched to a 2.90 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 69:23 K:BB overall this year.

Foley (3-3) pitched around a hit and a walk to record a clean inning of relief and earn the win Tuesday against the Royals. He struck out one.

Foley got into a little bit of trouble but managed to escape, thanks in large part to a double-play grounder off the bat of Bobby Witt. The righty reliever has been solid all season for the Tigers with a 2.65 ERA, and he leads the team with 28 holds. He's also managed to record seven saves, giving him some fantasy value here and there.

King did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing one hit and five walks over six scoreless innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out five.

Tuesday was King's seventh straight start dating back to Aug. 24 after he began the season in the bullpen. He hasn't allowed more than one run in any of those outings while posting a 1.04 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 47:9 K:BB across 34.1 innings. However, King has thrown 100.2 innings this year, far exceeding his previous high of 63.1 in 2021, so there's a possibility he could be shut down. If he does make another start, it's slated for the last Yankees game of the season on the road against the Royals on Sunday.
