Antone was removed from Sunday's game against the Mets with an apparent elbow injury, Gordon Wittenmyer of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

The right-hander entered for the sixth inning but threw just one pitch before departing with the injury. It's a potentially ominous development for Antone, who finished last season on the injured list with elbow tendinitis after spending most of the year recovering from Tommy John surgery.

Merryweather was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right shoulder strain, Tony Andracki of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Merryweather has seen the mound in four games this year, posting a 1.93 ERA and 6:2 K:BB through 4.2 innings for the Cubs, and the injury likely occurred in his most recent outing Friday against the Dodgers, when he struck out three while recording a hold. Due to the fifth-year pitcher's injury hiatus, Chicago has brought up Daniel Palencia from Triple-A Iowa. Merryweather will be eligible to return before the end of April but has no official timeline for his return.

Borucki was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left triceps inflammation, Andrew Destin of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

The left-hander presumably picked up the injury during his last outing Friday versus Baltimore, when he allowed two runs on three hits over one-third of an inning. Borucki doesn't have an official timeline for his return but will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks.

Kahnle (shoulder) is slated to resume throwing in the bullpen during the upcoming week, per MLB.com.

Kahnle ended last season on the injured list due to right shoulder inflammation, and the issue delayed his offseason throwing program, causing the Yankees to bring him along slowly during spring training. The veteran struggled to bounce back following a live throwing session in late March and subsequently had his throwing program slowed again, but he now appears set to resume a ramp-up. It's not yet clear when Kahnle may begin a rehab assignment, but it's still possible he can join the big-league bullpen by the end of April if he doesn't experience any further setbacks.

Speier is dealing with neck discomfort but plans to be available to pitch Sunday against the Brewers, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Speier pitched through the discomfort Saturday but issued two walks while recording just one out, so the Mariners may play it safe and give him a day or two to rest up. It doesn't appear to be a serious concern at this point, and the left-hander should be considered day-to-day.

Stanek is the likely option to handle a save opportunity should one arise Sunday in Milwaukee since Andres Munoz is unavailable, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Munoz pitched the first two games of the series and won't be available for the finale, opening the door for Stanek to potentially fill in as Seattle's closer. Stanek already has one save and one hold this season, and he appears to be the favored option behind Munoz while Matt Brash (elbow) and Gregory Santos (lat) are sidelined.

The right-hander threw 39 pitches across the first two games of the series and unsurprisingly won't be an option for the finale in Milwaukee. Ryne Stanek is expected to be the fill-in closer for Munoz, who will reclaim his duties Monday at Toronto.

Arizona designated Martin for assignment Sunday.

The Diamondbacks selected infielder Kevin Newman's contract from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move, with Arizona making room for him on the 26-man active roster by placing shortstop Geraldo Perdomo (knee) on the 15-day injured list. Once one of the more prized young arms in Arizona's organization, Martin is now 28 years old and hasn't pitched in the big leagues since 2022. He underwent Tommy John surgery in 2019 and required another major operation last spring, when he had a procedure to address a right lat tendon avulsion. Martin ended up missing the entire 2023 season, and though he's been healthy to begin the 2024 campaign, he's been lit up for three earned runs on three hits and three walks over three innings between his first two relief appearances at Triple-A Reno.

Weissert (0-1) was charged with the loss against the Angels on Saturday. He allowed two unearned runs on one hit and one walk while striking out one over 1.1 innings.

Weissert maintained a streak of five appearances without allowing an earned run but was victimized by shaky infield defense behind him. The right-hander has allowed three hits and two walks while striking out five over 4.2 innings.

Campbell allowed one hit and one walk over a scoreless third of an inning and was charged with a blown save in Saturday's 2-1 loss to the Angels.

Campbell came on during the sixth inning when infield misplays led to two runs; shortstop Pablo Reyes failed to complete a force out at second base, and third baseman Rafael Devers followed with an error. Campbell finished out the inning with no runs charged to him, his fourth consecutive outing without a run allowed. He's allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking four over 4.1 innings.
