  • Anthony Veneziano: Headed overseas

The Rangers released Veneziano on Friday. Veneziano was signed to a minor-league contract in December, but he's asked for and been granted his release in order to pursue a playing opportunity in Asia. The lefty posted a 4.68 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 25:11 K:BB across 25 innings between the Marlins and Cardinals in 2025.

  • Rangers' Anthony Veneziano: Gets NRI deal with Rangers

The Rangers signed Veneziano to a minor-league contract Thursday that includes an invitation to spring training. Veneziano made 26 appearances in the majors in 2025 between the Marlins and Cardinals, holding a 4.68 ERA, a 1.56 WHIP and 25:11 K:BB across 25 innings. The lefty will compete for a spot in the Rangers' bullpen but, in all likelihood, will begin the 2026 season at Triple-A Round Rock.

  • Anthony Veneziano: Elects free agency

Veneziano cleared waivers and elected free agency Thursday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Veneziano appeared in 26 big-league games this season, spanning stints with Miami and St. Louis, and he logged a 4.68 ERA, a 1.56 WHIP and 25:11 K:BB across 25 innings. The 28-year-old will hit the open market after being designated for assignment by the Cardinals earlier this week.

  • Cardinals' Anthony Veneziano: Sent back to Memphis

The Cardinals optioned Veneziano to Triple-A Memphis on Sunday. Veneziano will cede his spot in the St. Louis bullpen to John King (oblique), who was activated from the 15-day injured list. After being called up from Memphis last Sunday, Veneziano made two relief appearances for the Cardinals and gave up two earned runs on three hits and one walk over four innings.

  • Marlins' Anthony Veneziano: Sent to Triple-A

The Marlins optioned Veneziano to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday. His demotion clears a spot on the 26-man active roster for lefty Ryan Weathers (forearm), who was reinstated from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Cubs. Veneziano has a 4.86 ERA, 1.56 WHIP, four holds and a 15:8 K:BB across 16.2 innings with Miami this season, but he allowed four runs (including three home runs) over his last three outings.

  • Marlins' Anthony Veneziano: Claimed by Miami

The Marlins claimed Veneziano off waivers from the Royals on Tuesday. The left-hander was designated for assignment by Kansas City over the weekend, and Miami scooped him up to bolster its bullpen depth. • Royals' Anthony Veneziano: Sent to Triple-A

The Royals optioned Veneziano to Triple-A Omaha on Monday. Veneziano's latest stint with Kansas City lasted just two days, with the left-hander appearing in relief both Saturday and Sunday against the Orioles and allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk. The Royals called up right-hander Tyler Duffey from Triple-A to replace Veneziano in the bullpen.

  • Royals' Anthony Veneziano: Back in majors

The Royals recalled Veneziano from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday. Veneziano was called up to be the Royals' 27th man during their doubleheader Wednesday, though he never appeared in a game before being returned to Omaha. He's posted a 4.15 ERA and 1.46 WHIP across 13 innings in the minors this year, and he'll presumably serve in a multi-inning relief role while in Kansas City. Jordan Lyles (personal) was placed on the inactive list in a corresponding move.

  • Royals' Anthony Veneziano: Optioned to Omaha

The Royals optioned Veneziano to Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday. Veneziano threw 2.1 scoreless frames in the majors at the very end of last season but struggled to find his footing during spring training, surrendering seven earned runs in just 6.1 innings. The 26-year-old southpaw turned in a 4.22 ERA and 1.41 WHIP across 89.2 innings at Omaha last season, and he could return to the big leagues should Kansas City's pitching staff run into depth issues during the season.
